Does anyone really believe that Teresa is even capable of understanding what Joe did wrong, let alone had any say in it?

I think it says tons that if she really didn't know and he really forged her name and everything yet she is still walking into court with him holding hands. If my husband did something like that and I truly had no idea I'd be livid. The fact that she isn't says to me that even if she didn't know at the time, which I find hard to believe, she still doesn't think he did anything wrong.

I also think that she isn't disputing her signature on the actual bankruptcy documents and if they contained false information then she'd still be liable because she signed them.

Probably not. However, if she completed the loan process of loans only in her name; she would know she said she's someone's personal assistant and makes 15k a month, because they go over your answers, look you in the eye, and before you sign, they read out the "I agree under penalty of perjury that the above is true..." they read it out to you and then you sign. I don't think Theresa and Joe are as benign as most of you do. I'm more inclined to believe that they both knew they were attempting a grift.

I hope they are both convicted, but I honestly can't visualize Joe telling Theresa to sign something and her saying "no" let alone "let me read it first."

I just read a book called FACES, it's about the "new" mob in England. All the way through the book I kept getting glimpses of old-school Catholic marriages, even though in the book they were Irish, not Italian. There were all these home moments that just immediately flashed me back to the Jersey wives and how they behave, and are expected to behave.

I know that technically not many consider the Jersey wives connected, but I think they are, and I think they are all petty crooks, scam artists, and criminals.

Oh, I'm sure you are right, I don't think she would question it either. However, I agree with Ran that at closing if they went over everything and she confirmed it, then signed, she is not innocent. Even she isn't too dumb to know that she didn't actually have a job at the time. I also think the fact that she is sticking by Joe and insisting they are happy and a team and all of that jazz doesn't do much to show that she was clueless about it all. I'd be furious with my husband if he got us into this kind of position and kept me in the dark about all of it, especially if I was being charged for it. I'd be furious that he could put our children into that position as well. She doesn't appear too mad.

That's what I mean about that book though, the wives really can't get mad, or divorced, or do much of anything other than what they are told to do. I had so many Jersey-moment flashbacks while reading that book it was spooky. The culture in that book seemed so similar to the Jersey HWs is so many small but significant ways. In Theresa's limited mind, crime is a way of life, but divorce or airing dirty laundry about your husband of family would be the real unpardonable sin.

The other thing is she probably thought it was "loopholes" that everybody "smart" uses in business, because, frankly, in her crowd? They probably do. Does anyone really believe that Caroline's FiL wasn't connected, or that the family restaurant used a lot of stuff that "fell off a truck" to get started/stay in business, or payoffs aren't involved? I sure don't. Her brother got involved "learned from her husband" in the same business. Other than the TV crews, I doubt Theresa really knows many people that are breaking the law.

Do you believe Cow that his photo is an accurate depiction of what Nick has been typing on his iPad?

I mean the "happy" at the end makes me think no.

I just don't think kids put in happy as a search term. I think Jac wants us to think Nick typed it.

She had gone away for a while on twitter, now she is back with a vengeance. I wonder if it has to do with them moving and her needing an income source. It has got to be stressful in that house for those boys.

I hope the market does pick up and they can unload that house. I don't know if they are technically underwater with their mortgage, but someone somewhere (here, another board?) said they think the house is overpriced by several hundred thousand dollars. There is no shame in downsizing to a normal sized house when you only have two kids.

Hey, Beauty and Autism aren't going to research themselves.

I'm with ranjake, I don't think Teresa is innocent of anything. She falsified tax returns! I don't care how 'old school' their marriage is - she's culpable. They are all criminals to some extent on this show. I thinks its entirely possible she thinks "everyone does it." because everyone she knows does. And then there was all that "It could happen to anybody!!" at the reunion last year. Uh, no Teresa, not anyone; just people who scam and cheat and steal.

I do think that Joe is trying to take the fall for Teresa for his children. Now he thinks about his girls. I hope the Feds say no and convict them both. I'm sorry for the little girls though.
