Willy are their mortgage payment on that chateau juicy really 20K a month? - that has to be a huge mortgage! But is the shore house mortgaged too?

I wouldn't sell my main residence and uproot my kids out of school and make them start at a new school just to appease viewers. I really wouldn't. It will be hard enough for them when I "go away." My main concern would be my kids and trying to keep things consistent for them. After I came out of the pokey, I would downsize in the same community. I don't think Teresa and Joe really feel any shame.

I would start by selling the shore house. And the boat. I doubt they own any of the cars. I bet her handbags are all fakes by now. If she has any real jewelry, she should sell that too.

I thought the bulk of the mortgages were on the investment properties - the rental units and the flips.
I just pulled the $20k out of my rear as an example. I don't remember what the mortgage payment actually is.

I don't know much about where they live but surely that house is not the only one in that same school district. They could downsize and keep the kids in the same school if they wanted to. It's also not just to appease viewers, it's to make paying restitution as fast as possible.

I don't think they own their cars either but there is no reason to have a rental payment on a brand new luxury SUV.

I think they had to sell most if not all of the investment properties and rentals during the bankruptcy if I remember right.

Also, another difference between the Giudices and Martha Stewart is that Martha was convicted of doing something with selling stocks one time. The charges against the Giudices span years and multiple transactions. It was not a one time bad decision or mistake.

Teresa Giudice and Joe Giudice pleaded guilty to multiple fraud charges in Newark Federal Court Tuesday. The Real Housewives of New Jersey stars, who originally pleaded not guilty after they were indicted in the summer of 2013, appeared composed before U.S. District Judge Esther Salas.

Joe faces a potential sentence of 37 to 46 months in jail and Teresa could get 21 to 27 months. They are scheduled to be sentenced on July 8.

If they are sentenced more than they agreed to, they can revoke their pleas, yes?

I really have no idea. I would think the max sentencing would have to do with sentencing guidelines that correspond to each charge they plead guilty to. But I'm just guessing.

A little more info from TMZ:

Quote:

We're told Teresa pled guilty to 4 counts (including conspiracy to commit wire fraud and bankruptcy fraud) and Joe to 5 counts (same as Teresa, plus failure to file tax returns).

I guess not a bad deal to only have to admit to 4/41 counts and presumably the rest of the counts just go away.

They kept saying on the news this morning that because Joe plead guilty he can be deported. I bet they don't or if they do it will be years since they will keep delaying it. If they go for that little time they got off easy. Martha's was nothing like theirs sorry. If they give her a weekend deal I'll be ill.

Here's the local online news article:
Quote:

Teresa and Joe Guidice, stars of Bravo's "Real Housewives of New Jersey," both pleaded guilty in federal court this morning to several mortgage and bankruptcy fraud charges.

Both Teresa and Joe Guidice, who stood throughout the hearing, softly said, "Yes, your honor," to U.S. District Judge Esther Salas when asked if they admitted their guilt to the charges. They both appeared composed.

The Montville couple will be sentenced at a later date.

Under their plea agreement, and per sentencing guidelines for those charges, Teresa Giudice would spend less than two years in prison, while Joe Giudice would spend a minimum of three years behind bars, The Record reported.

The Record reported last week that the couple has agreed to plead guilty to the charges under a deal that would send them both to prison.

In July, the couple was charged in a 39-count indictment that accused them of conspiring to fraudulently obtain millions of dollars in mortgages and other loans and of hiding assets and income during their past bankruptcy proceedings Two additional counts were added later.

Prosecutors also accused Joe Giudice of not filing federal tax returns between 2004 to 2008 despite the fact that he earned $1 million over that time period.

The Montville couple previously requested separate trials, but prosecutors required both of them to plead guilty to take the deal, The Record reported.

July 8th. Is that the end of filming for NJ for the season? Is the finale dinner a send off for these two?

I wonder how they get it down to just four counts and dismiss the rest. I know it is a plea bargain - they negotiate it. But the sentencing guidelines are pretty strict, so they had to select the ones/charges that would put them in that 2 and 3 year range.

I knew that this would never get to trial. Most all of these cases end in a plea. The feds tend to over charge and then in order to get a guilty plea they start dropping charges. In the end their sentences will most likely be close to what the "average" non reality show cast member would receive.

As far as what they wear to court, they are damned if they wear designer duds and looking for sympathy if they wear Target/Walmart clothing. I wish I could get more worked up over their "crimes" but sadly its become so common a situation in Jersey that it's hard to give a shit anymore.

I hope they can keep their marriage together thru this, because despite some of Joes behavior I do think they truly love each other. I feel sorry for their kids too. I'm betting Jax doesn't handle her own legal issues with as much stoicism as Tre. SHe's one tough cookie that Tre. I give her that.

There is someone on twitter telling people to write to the judge to tell him how Teresa has changed their lives. Lol. Anyways, ccc - brace yourself - there are people reporting that Teresa won't do any time. I don't know if it is just speculation or what. It is on gossip blogs.
