Problem with a cannoli maker is that it is easier to just buy the shells. They seems to be more of a regional/ethnic item. People who like them seem to just buy them at Italian bakeries. |

My husband is obsessed with the home shopping channels, he will just laugh and laugh at how they can talk about a stupid costume jewelry ring for an hour. I don't know wtf a cannoli maker would do besides mix your ingredientses together...which I do by hand when I make them. |

Actually B was not a success because her product sucked. The reviews were pretty harsh. The merchandise was just not made for the market. The reviews said that the shapewear was made for tiny, skinny people and was very tight and uncomfortable. I think if it was made properly it would have sold great. She sold a lot but many were returned I think. Seriously I just don't know why she had to continue with it. She is making so many products that if one doesn't work just forget about it. Sell it out and stop production. I think the shapewear itself, for Bethenny, was a slam at Jill. She wanted hers to be better and more popular. Silly, I know but why bother with it when you have so much on your plate already. I hate the way she wears it too. It's like she's wearing underwear to me all the time. Good for the bedroom but not to wear out in the evening. Guess I'm being prudish. |

Ok - where the hell have I been. I missed the memo that Kathy/Cat was going to be on QVC. I'm assuming Cat = Kathy in the posts above. That's right in my wheel house - You know I'll be tuned in as, true confession time - I watch QVC. It's great for snark material....then running to TWOP to talk about the absurdity. Don't judge me. It's not about being a regional item, or being able to get it in B&M stores for cheaper. QVC and the hosts play some downright dirty tricks to sell shit. They do the high pressure sales pitch how you HAVE to have this cannoli maker - this cannoli maker WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE. They talk to the viewer like they are best friends to earn their trust and to sell some crap. It's a whole 'nother world. I also grew up were QVC is based, around the corner actually from their studios. I refuse to buy most things from them - only caveat is cosmetics - they have some good deals on name brands. I think there's a grain of truth (maybe even a kernel or boulder) to the producers favoring the Manzo/Gorga axis. It makes sense. RE - B and her lingerie - I know you are a died in the wool B hater CC, but I don't know that it's a true flop. It had terrible reviews on QVC b/c she didn't conform to the QVC sizing (it wasn't really a quality issue or crap product complaints). Up till a few years go they didn't even offer XS and now their XS is really a regular Medium - so I can see people being ticked off with B's sizing - remember she hates fat people. But the reason I say it must be a success of some sort is it's now in Macys with a big promo event to coincide with FNO. I saw it on several pieces covering fashion week. My guess is the fire sale we saw on the flash sale sites was in prep for a re-design to go into Macys. Sorry to hijack this thread - lemme know if you wanna take the discussion to the NY thread. LOL, they had an event because there was a warehouse in Newark full of shapewear. Maybe she can unload it on Ramona. The problem with Kathy's products is that they haven't always looked so great on the show. That and the fact that I fear they all have an aroma of fish. |

not to mention she BAREHANDS them - that totally squicked me out when she was having her debut in the parking lot with handmade signs. |

I saw the FNO thing. There were a ton of them at Macy's and all over the city. I almost went to one that offered a great gift bag that was for hair. I don't know why I get all these invites. Anyway, I feel too lazy and old to go to them. Maybe some day. It was actually B's big coming out before her announcement of her show pick up. I think it's for next season/year so she has to fill her time with something. Nothing against B with this comment but I think the shapewear market is getting ridiculously over saturated. It appears that everyone seems to be adding it. Do the KKKKK's have a line of it yet? If not I wouldn't be surprised. |

The ironic part is that tiny, skinny people don't need the shapewear. |

Yea Willy. I can't imagine wearing a new fangled girdle. I assume they must be really cheap to make since the materials are mainly synthetics. Spanx is the queen and all the others - well are all the others. If a large clothing company with huge distribution starts making them they could wipe out all the little ones. I just don't see why B is doing it. She probably got an offer to put her name on it like most of the other products that don't all go together as a brand. Just my opinion. Now that she has a talk show how much time could she possibly give to clothes amongst the other items? She also loves to be a big fish in a small pond. |

I just can't imagine wearing Spanx or any of that stuff every day. I've worn it under a dress when I attended a wedding but the rest of the time? I will let my Mommy Muffin Top be out and proud! |

Triple ditto. I actually don't really believe in shapewear. I prefer to do my best at working out and not stuffing my face, and whatever happens to my body, happens. Of course I'm saying this right now from behind a veil of an extra 20+ lbs that will not go away from the baby, but still. I even hate control top pantyhose. Too uncomfortable. I'd rather let the flab fly. |

There is a reason they make those blousy tops with the elastic at the bottom. They also hide the muffin top and they are much more comfortable than Spanx. Just don't wear cut out sleeves and shoulders because then you'll look like Kyle Richards and no one wants that! |
