And many if them are convinced that their crap is worth millions. Last week, a man was freaking out that they almost threw out a can that had a penny in it.

Lol, sometimes I think I am a hoarder. I have saved so much of my kids' stuff - like keepsakes. That they will ever look at again? Oh their pre-k art projects - soooo special! Blobs of paint. One day I have to go to may attic and "edit." Lol. My problem was I had a walk-up attic at the time. I could just walk up and put stuff in one of those rubbermaid bins never to be seen again.

I hear you, fin. I have Rubbermaid bins containing every paper my kids brought home until 4th grade. Then, I started having them go they which ones were important to them. Surprisingly, most if them weren't.

But...the bins aren't infested with roaches!

Saw a new hoarding show on a The Soap. It's a British hoarding show called Hoarding: Behind Closed Doors. Just set it up to tape.

If its the same one I saw last year, it is ridiculous. These "hoarders" are pikers compared to the US ones. A quick clean up and a bit of Windex solves their problem. There is no work for 1-800-got junk.

Let me know if its good. This show may be a different one from the one I saw.

I guess no one compares to Americans and our consumerism!

Lol, I'll let you know if these are some lame hoarders. Not even one sailcat?

ETA - a woman who hoarded Spongebob items and another woman who hoarded rabbits.

These people are amateurs compared to the US hoarders. Although the rabbit hoarder kept a dead rabbit in the freezer and kept taking him out to hold and pet.

Yeah, rank amateurs if its what I remember. I'm happy there was a dead rabbit in the freezer to keep up the real hoarder tradition though.

Turns out I don't get that channel anyway. When they reorganized my Time Warner package last year, I guess I lost the channel its on.

I"ve been watching the Canadian Intervention. Trouble is it's "been there, done that." All the stories are the same as the US version. The person does not go to rehab until 56 minutes into the hour. Then there is a little screen showing the end result, success or failure. The whole rest of the show is people shooting up, going to their dealer, being surprised (or not) when the intervention occurs, listening to the letters, etc. Think I"m going to delete it.

There is nothing new under the sun. If I had seen some of these shows 10 years ago I would have been shocked. Now its old hat.

That's one thing I hate about most of these hoarder shows. So little time devoted to the actual cleanup and aftermath.

Yeah, and maybe a followup one year later.

Lol, although the British are amateurs when it comes to hoarding, I am finding the show amusing.

One hoarder is an older man who spends all of his time recording game shows. And later watches them and has to rewind if anyone dare talk during the show. Oh, and he has a lot of crap.

The second one is a relatively young man who hoards bird-related items...including thimbles and spoons. A lot of them. Oddly enough, he hasn't been dating much.

One thing I always enjoy about watching British reality shows is seeing the different way they live. To me that is often as interesting as the show.
