Layana cries every f'in episode it seems.

Stanley (is the the Black guy?) - I agree with your finale three Weaver. Layana will get there by default though I honestly don't think she's that talented. She asks for help, a lot. And IIR the outfit she won with - didn't someone help her with the construction of that one? Either the mustached guy or the blonde guy that was auf'd early on.

I can't believe that Layana wanted credit for Daniel's look -- WTF? He's done that jacket in variations practically every challenge! And she was so busy crying, when did she have time to help him?

Glad that Stanley and Michelle took the winning ... but I think it should have been Michelle who got the prize. Stanley talks a great game, but she did most of the work from what I saw. Considering it was a textile challenge, and she did that, it should have been her 10k.

This is, to me. the most lackluster and boring PR ever! Seems that if these were the winning picks for contestants the crop of applicants must have been crummy indeed. I can't see who will be the 3rd finalist. Daniel is the only possiblity and I swear I can smell mothballs every time he's on my screen....

Agree, Heidi doesn't even seem to be taking it very seriously.

Aren't there good designers who would kill for that money and exposure?

If they send Michelle home, I'm turning off the show and won't watch the conclusion. Patricia should have gone home. Or Daniel. I'm sorry Patty got DICKED, but Richard didn't look any happier to be working with her ... and her ideas are shitty. Really. You have to have a French seam? PUH-LEEZE.

ETA: Here's what they are ... they're inside -- no one can see them.

Thanks, Icy. I was wondering what a French seam was.
"Alls" I can say is I'm glad I DVR this show so I can FF to the runway and see results. I think it's really lost something since it moved over to Lifetime.

I DVR too, but even with fast forwarding, it drags. Really? 2 hours for last night's show?

That's why I gave up Celebrity Apprentice.

Good riddance, Layana, I give her the assignment of reading and studying every Vogue magazine from post war (WWII) through today. Then if she has time she can read from Vogue 1920s through the 30s. She seems to think only she is an original with a new and young vibe. She isn't.

Daniel got a bit cheated with that cheap little fabric store they sent him to in Berlin, but all in all the end result was OK, not great. I loved Stanley's, but I was surprised they liked it so much because black doesn't show up on the runway. Patricia's, great idea, bad execution. I think she will wow them when she has more time though. Michelle's, just OK in my book. I cried when she messed up the gorgeous cashmere. When I saw the top I thought Chanel, quilted leather, and it didn't flatter the model.

Anyway they did the right thing. Layana will probably get a job at some very commercial designer and make the most money!
And then she'll cry and say she was right all along.

Why did Patricia never wear any of her gorgeous textiles?

I wanted Patricia gone in the worst way. I feel like they kept her because of her heritage. I only say that because there has been press about her Native American heritage, waaaay back before she'd shown much. She is great with textiles, I guess, but fashion designer? No way. She should have been sent home last week for that horrible thing Cher would have thrown away.

Yeah, what is up with the terrible fabric stores? I guess those are the ones who allowed filming. I think Michelle lucked out to stay in NYC -- go to Europe when you can enjoy it! (IMHO)

I didn't care for Stanley's at all. Daniel's was very Berlin, in my stupid opinion. Michelle's was only okay. I loved Layana's jacket, too, and the shirt and thought they were quirky together. But I'm not Neeeeeeeena Garcia.

Yeah, Cher's Bob Mackie stuff, that was original. And from the 1970's! Take that Layana. Who can forget all the wonderful costumes in the MGM movies from the 30's and 40's too?

I think they keep Patricia partly for the Native American thing too. Also, Layana really didn't deserve a runway show. Sheesh, she goes to Barcelona which is colorful and quirky and she does the stupid jacket with the flowing sleeves? Nah.

So Patricia will show us something on the final runway I'm sure. Will it be anything saleable, I doubt it.

Frankly I think not getting the rushed trip abroad was an advantage to Michelle. She could really plan her design and knowing Mood, know which fabrics she wanted and where they were. None of them really saw the cities they were in, it was too frantic. It was good for the show though, which has been generally so dull.

Stanley for the win. There have been all sorts of comments on forums that PR has never had an African American winner, and I think they will this time, and it will be well deserved.

After that episode, I think Michelle has it in her to win. But if Stanley DOES take to heart what they said, he could bring it on -- I think Nina wants him to win. No one seems to be on Michelle's side, and I don't know why. Patricia's blue look was fun, fun, fun. But the rest of it was not as amazing as I think it could have been. Daniel's was just blah, I could see 100 miles out that he was going home and DAMN! He deserved to go home! What an egotistical jerk! He races to say "I love it" before anyone offers anything, as if he's terrified of being doubtful. But what did it get him?

Daniel seems to be a genuinely nice person with admirably maturity. But when he designed yet another jacket (!) I knew he was definitely "auf". Unfortunately for him likeability doesn't equal enough creativity,. He's a limited designer-- but I do hope he gets some benefits for his business from being on this season-- just for being so good-natured and a kind person.

Nina is unable to disguise her horror of Patricia's circus awning prints & shapeless, unflattering, shredded, "Wounded Knee Creep-fest of Clothing" Collection-- & I'm right there with her! I keep feeling the guilt for Native American genocide is keeping her on the show much more than the "fresh, unique perspective" Heidi seems so obsessed with. Unique perspective she may indeed have --- doesn't mean it's wearable, translateable, marketable, flattering or really anything but just plain odd and durn unattractive.

I'm going for Michelle for the win & Stanley may manage to step up. But I just don't care like I used to in past seasons. If ever a season needed Michael Kors it's this one! I miss His Royal Orangeness desperately ! The quick snarky wit and the banter between Nina, Heidi, & Kors that established the fun factor has been sorely missed in a season that was tailor made for his looks of offended sensibilities and round-eyed appalled disbelief. I wanted the rapid-fire bon mots that Daniels' 20th jacket, Layanas' whining and sobbing and general childishness, Patricias' bizarre esthetic and Richards inability to have learned basic sewing tecniques (that were required in all junior high Home Economics classes) before becoming a contestant (!) would've brought forth from his glowing orange self.

At least we get him back for the final show. I'm willing to forgive this awful season if Michael returns and the contestants are at least basically qualified & have decent talent levels

Icy- It took me so long to post (new keyboard and computer to get used to & I'm a slow learner in this area) that I managed to skip-post over yours & I didn't want you to think I was responding unfavorably to your opinion of Daniels' egotistical-ness! I could definitely see that in him. I took a long time to warm up to him and his mustache- but he did seem to have a genuine nicely kind heart underneath the ego. I guess I identified with his tendency to deprecate self first before I receive the pain from the outside source-- a life-long lesson learned over hot coals !
No intention to disrespect your opinion ever :'(

No disrespect felt by me, Parker! I love your post!

I have not missed Michael Kors because I felt he was often rude. But you've reminded me of all the great things about him, mostly that he wouldn't have put up with a lot of the bullshit that made it through.

I think Heidi was wearing too many hats. Her love of Patricia's craft project wearable/not quite fashion is all about ratings, all about "wow, look at THAT" -- which is ridiculous. Audiences are too sophisticated to want someone to stay who cannot fucking design. Richard: case in point. Layana was more talented, Samantha was more talented. Geez, even that sweater designer had more originality than Richard.

Stanley, to me, is stuck in the false idea that old Hollywood glamour translates to great modern fashion. No one wants to throw away that history, but no one wants to wear it all the time anymore either. And frankly, his stuff looks like the greatest hits from Barbara Walters' closet from the '60s-'70s. Old Lady playing dress up with class. Yuck. He says "I can fix it" but I don't think he really can, because he doesn't think the error is on his side. He thinks the judges just don't get it.

That's the smack down I most enjoy: when the judges take someone's house of cards and say "wrong." ... you see a designer pooh-poohing Tim Gunn in the workroom, saying in talking heads "I believe in this. I'm sticking with it" and it's just delicious to see them crumble when Nina looks down her nose at it and says "this is just not good! Where's the originality? Where's the fashion?"

I guess that's why I was able to take a break from Michael Orange-Face Kors. He seemed more about the snarky remarks reflecting on his own intelligence and wit than about what the designers were doing wrong. I remember some of his schtick without recalling WHO he was saying it to. But I agree, it'll be cool to have him back. Maybe HE can champion Michelle.

to me there isn't much of a distinction between Stanley (44) and Daniel (49). Both lacked any whiff of modernity to their items. Stanley's were maybe better sewn.

I like Patricia's textiles - her actual designs, meh.
