I DVR'd it but have not watched it. Don't think I will, I'm just not motivated. I think the show has run its course for me. |

I guess I called half of it* … Tim did save Char, but no reason was revealed. I didn't think Korina deserved the win, but Sean didn't either. I thought the red dress was the best; can't remember her name, the punk rocker type of girl. Sure happy that Sandya was safe, I thought her dress was the worst. Samantha … I barely noticed her anyway. ETA: * oops, I never said it, but I did expect Tim had a change of heart and brought her back, but I counted the display cases and there were only 9 of jewels, so I thought maybe I was wrong. AND they never said why Tim got all teary, did they. Edited by IcyAll, Sep 5 2014, 04:03 AM.

I hope Kini wins it all. He's so talented. Lol, Korinna's not a gracious loser. Sorry, honey, your Cossack-chic outfit was dreadful. |

You'll love it, Icy. I don't think I've ever been so happy to see someone get auf'd. Yeah, the editing monkeys do everything in their power to make someone look bitchy and mean. But, they can't work with what they don't have. Korina proved that she's a straight up delusional beast. I yelled YESSS! when she got the boot. Scared the shit out of my cat. I hope any clients she may have cancelled their orders after watching the she devil in action last night. |

No worries -- I was happy to watch knowing she was going home! Truly!! I wouldn't have come read if I was worried. Yeah, that was delicious, so deserving of being sent home. "That's all there was" in materials? Bitch. They got huge piles of stuff … Not sorry to see her gone. I think the top three are Kini, Amanda, and Sean. I enjoy Charketa, and Emily has grown on me, but they should be the next ones sent home, IMO, if the first three don't eff it up. |

Her claim of only having those fabrics to attempt her fugly dress was so much bullshit. Heidi very clearly said that they could use any of the leftover materials from all the challenges. There should have been yards and yards of the ugly green fabrics Kornia used to make the hideous dress for Heidi. She could have made a third ugly green dress :) Icy, do you sew a lot of garments? Our daughter got engaged on Labor Day and she really wants me to make her dress. However, she has her heart set on silk and working with it is striking terror in my heart. She's going for a very relaxed vibe, no frou frou cupcake looking dress. The fabric will do the talking. Have you ever worked with silk? Edited by lovesnark, Oct 4 2014, 11:28 AM.

I have not worked with silk, but I do understand the difficulty. I hope she is not going for a fitted look, because there would be the difficulty. If it's relaxed or gathered, you'll have better look. I'll bet there are videos on YouTube about how to sew with silk … I always check YouTube for How To videos! Oh, just re-read what I'm replying to … a relaxed vibe … you can do it! Use bias tape or piping to capture the silk: it won't move, but will anchor all the flowy material. Do you have a dressers mannequin? You should play with draping and pinning long before you commit needle to silk. GOOD GOOD LUCK!! |

Thanks! I scored a nice, adjustable dress form from a friend to use for the project. She's also offered to help guide me through. She used to make all her suits for work and doesn't think twice about cutting into $75 a yard fabric. And, I'm going to make the entire thing in muslin before I take shears to the silk. Then, I'll take the muslin apart and use it for a pattern. Silk charmeuse is off the table as a fabric choice. One thing that's stuck in my head from all my years of watching Project Runway is that silk charmeuse is like trying to sew butter and is a bitch to work with for even the most experienced seamstress. We went to a very cool bridal salon that specializes in dresses made from luscious fabrics. Looks like georgette, crepe de chine and chiffon will be what I'll work with. I have my Mom's wedding dress and am going to take it apart and use the satin from the bodice and the sleeves as an accent in daughter's dress. It's definitely going to be a make it work! project. |

Well I caught up on the last one, missed a few. What a bitch. So glad she is gone. Even after she lost she was waugh, waugh, so unfair........... You could tell Tim did not like her very much. I did like the tribal sweater coat she wore herself in a few scenes. Kini is so talented and so fast. Hope he wins. |

I read over at bloggingprojectrunway.blogspot.com for entertainment and found out a bunch of stuff … won't relate, as they're spoilers of a sort, but if anyone doesn't care about that, go there and read. I always forget about that site until it's way past the season. |

Anyone watch last night? I'm okay with how it wound up and wonder what Char can do when she has enough time to work on stuff. I didn't get all the praise for Sean's white outfit, though. To me, it looked like a 60's nurse uniform with a weird skirt and sleeves that didn't get fully sewn on. I watched/listened to the previous episode while I was knitting and waiting for the new one to start. They edited it heavily and most of the hateful shit Korina spewed was cut. WTF? I have no clue why they would do that. It's not like she's going to FW and they felt the need to make her look less heinous. |
