I was surprised to see she was leading for fan favorite -- I thought I was the only one who liked her. Sorry, Momo. ;)

Just watching it now... but I was really surprised to see Ven's sister. For all his harping about his previous model in the makeover challenge not being thin enough, Ven's sister wasn't exactly skinny. You'd think he would have been a little more sympathetic.
And did I just see a commercial for another All Star Runway, or are previous contestants back to do battle with this season's designers?

Ven's sister is hugely pregnant. You don't see it until closer to the end of the episode.

Yes, pregnant is what I thought, too. I don't know why it was not remarked on.

I really, really was nervous for Elena. That preview where Heidi said "It looks like a stewardess for Hawaii Airlines" -- geez, that was HER garment, IMO. What a hideous print! The colors, the slash of ... crap? Yikes. So I breathed a huge sigh of relief when she was safe. And happy happy happy that it was Ven who got that criticism.

Okay, I've never seen Tim Gunn brought out to the judges like that before ... I kinda liked it. I loved that he got to explain about the maxi pad dress Ven was doing ... he sure can do that folding rose technique fast! But geez, overdone ... and that dress was just meh. I liked it less than Gunnar's coat. And I liked Gunnar's print. Not for the storyline, I just thought it resembled herringbone from a distance. Maybe up close it was terrible.

Didn't like Sanjia's pants, but they did look impeccable.

And Dimitry ... well, that jacket was all it was about. It could go over any textile and look great, IMO.

Christopher lucked out -- maybe his talent saved him.

ETA: I think Mondo did not agree with the judges -- I think he would have given it to Sanjia. The other previous winner, Anna?, added nothing, IMO.

I didn't think anything was knocked out of the park this week, but I liked Dimitry's the best. Sonja's pants were great too, but who could wear them except the model?

As for being a one trick pony, who better than ANya to know about that. As I recall she didn't even know how to sew, couldn't make a sleeve etc. Her prints were gorgeous, but her style was long flowing garments. So I don't think its such a big deal for Venn to be a one trick pony; his print was dreadful though. There are so many structured dresses now with various prints blending together throughout the garment, he could have done something like that on the same basic dress and it would have been a wow.

People call Michael Kors a one trick pony, and it hasn't hurt his career.

I wish they'd call women women and not girls. It was a long battle to get the term "my girl" or even worse "my gal" out of the workplace. Don't bring it back.

I guess I wasn't watching close enough to see that Ven's sister was pregnant.
I'm glad Dimity finally got a win.
I thought it was really rich with Anya up there critiquing ANYONE's look. One trick pony indeed. It takes one to know one. And Mondo, just because you won, doesn't make you a Michael Kors or Nina Garcia who have been in the business for years.
I know I'm going to get pelted with rotten tomatoes for this. but for some reason I still like Ven.
I will go away now....

He certainly had my sympathy when he cried, but he's too kiss ass for my long-term love. And of course, I can't forget how he treated that woman, with no remorse or apology.

The end of Ven!! HURRAY!! I was really scared that Elena was auf. I like her and am happy that so far she's leading in the fan favorite race.

That said, I didn't think any of them designed a good Rockettes costume. Christopher deserved the win, but his skirt had no life to it, IMO.

I'm surprised they loved Dmitry's so much. She looked like an ice skater headed for the ice capades. That did NOT look Rockette.

I'm headed for my second pelting of tomatoes, but I liked Ven.
I think Elena is a bitch (sorry, Icy,this is one where we aren't going to agree, but I still love ya!) and I don't really care for her designs.
I thought Chris' design was stunning, absolutely stunning. Made me wish I were a Rockette. (well, maybe not... )

Christopher's idea of the skyline was great, but frankly I think you would not be able to identify what it was from the second row. I thought Elena's was terrible, a reincarnation of the original Dallas Cowboy cheerleader outfits. And the blond's outfit, the one with the number one on it, was horrible and terribly made to boot. I liked Ven's, but it was a bit too subtle. Don't think it deserved to lose though. I think the blond or Elena should have lost.

I'd still pick Ven to design a dress for me to wear over all the others. LuAnn should try to get some freebies from him, his style is perfect for her.

Christopher's should have been two toned. Maybe black bodice with white appliques. And I think the skirt would have been better with a car wash detail like the safe designer did.

I liked Ven's designs better then Elena's but his personality was just ugh. The way he was so smug and thought he was always right - Tim clearly hated him so I was surprised that he got a nice going away speech. That's our Tim, always classy.
