The more I watched Season 4, the more I liked it- will be interesting to see how you all react. By the time I got to the Christmas Special, which by now I've watched 5 times, it was one of my favorite seasons.
I loved the Christmas Special, I cried at the last scene!

Ok, so I'm finally caught up to the current season (missed 2 weeks due to the awards shows and life in general). To be honest, I am getting a little tired of the Anna/Bates story. Even though there was a reconciliation, it's not going to be the end. So I guess that we will be seeing Lord Gilliham (or whatever) down the road at Downton so his valet has to come again.
DON'T TELL ME!! ( small voice...this is the thread without spoilers)

Gillingham :) I think his Valet Green only comes once more? Then you hear of him again in the last episode before the CS.

Which Downton Abbey character are you?
Break out the tea and crumpets — it's time to find out where you fit in with the Crawleys.

I'm pretty sure I got her because of one answer. In other words, a bit fun, but not a great quiz. :ermm:

I took it on FB and I got the Dowager Countess.
Vulgarity is no substitute for wit, my dear"... ha! :)

Also, looks like next week is the finale of the season? At least that's what my Entertainment Weekly indicated.

I watched a strange little movie from 1969 last night. WOMEN IN LOVE which is based on the DH Lawrence novel, and takes place at the time depicted in Downton Abbey.

It made me appreciate the little blond with the crush on the jazz musician quite a bit. Also, wonder when and if the real "roaring twenties" will begin on this show.

This woman was the model DH Lawrence used for his character Gudron, in the book, and played by Glenda Jackson in the movie. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Women_in_Love_%28film%29

It's really fascinating to read through her life, and realize it took place during the relatively VERY stuffy Downton years.

There was a lot more SEX going on than the staid Downton show has even thought of showing.

PBS’ Masterpiece has released several brand new looks at Downton Abbey season 5, including the annual cast photo in front of their iconic home.

This year’s Downton Abbey group photo, pictured above, includes several notable additions: Robert’s dog is making his first appearance in the group photo as are Lady Mary and Branson’s respective children (the new actors for the kids were announced last week).

Several high-res Downton Abbey season 5 stills were also released by PBS/Masterpiece today. In them we see characters like Branson, Lord Gillingham, Lady Mary, Isobel Crawley, Bates and Anna, Mr. Carson and Mrs. Hughes, Thomas, Daisy, Cora, Branson, and others.
