I just checked my listings Momo - I have it coming on at 9 pm, EST, 'Masterpiece Classic.' I'm sorry, dude, that sucks; I've been looking forward to it. You *can* watch the full episode online at PBS.org tomorrow morning, though -- they must post them within a few hours of airing.

Ok, well I will flip over at 9 pm to see if my guide is just wrong or something. That happens occasionally. I hope the guide is wrong!

EDIT: WOOHOO! MY GUIDE WAS WRONG!

Ok, it's official. I hate Sybil's relationship with Branson. It's ridiculous. I don't give a shit that he's a chauffer and she's the youngest daughter of the Lord. Personality wise they are COMPLETELY mismatched and it seems like he's just goading her into accepting him.

Edith is becoming less of a shrew. Who knew?

I'm kind of glad Isabelle took off. She was getting beyond annoying. I took probably a bit too much pleasure watching Cora take the reins without a by your leave and then enforce her decisions. Delicious!

I'm also glad to have Bates back even though that puts him (and by extension, Anna) straight back in O'Brien's sights. I don't understand what her grudge with him even is anymore. Get over it, lady! Mrs. Bates shows back up next week and isn't in another episode after that so I'm hoping that story will wrap itself up and we can move on. Also, since Mary is now affianced to the newspaper dude, I don't think Mrs. Bates will get far with her story selling.

Poor, stupid Ethel.

I'm also totally disinterested in Branson and Sybil. Incompatible, annoying, etc., etc.

I'm coming around on Edith. It's nice to see her as something other than pathetic and spiteful. We all need to have purpose in what we do, and I feel like the actress and writers are showing that, and it's a compelling storyline.

Not compelling to me was Ethel/the major (I don't like Ethel, full stop: I know as a woman in 2012 I should feel like, rock on, when a housemaid asserts her own personhood in some way, but she's annoying and grasping and rude) or Cora/Isobel. I just hate what's been done with Isobel in the last 2 episodes -- she was diplomatic, watchful and deferential in a way that didn't sacrifice her dignity or principles in season 1. I don't feel like her squaring off against Cora makes much sense in terms of who she was shown to be, and I'm disappointed in the script choices.

Mary/Matthew appeal to my inner girl, loving love stories. I need Lavinia and the scummy publisher dispatched with, and soon. The actors playing Mary and Matthew have chemistry and just look so swoony together.

Last, much love always for the Dowager Countess. I don't care if it's the same joke, basically, again and again, but having her look uncomfortable at communal togetherness is always hilarious to me. The woman who asks, 'what's a weekend?' is probably not that familiar with singalongs.

Maggie Smith can steal a scene from anyone.

Camo, I completely agree with you about Isobel. I think that's why I took too much pleasure in her dressing down from Cora. I so very much dislike the direction they've taken her character so far this season that I'm really hoping that her little tantrum-y trip to Paris will be the turn around for her. She was so much more likable last season.

Maybe the writer thought that everyone felt Isobel was too milquetoast last season and was trying to respond to that criticism. If so, he went too far.

This show is sooo good. I am finally caught up thank to netflix. It has turned me on to BBC dramas.
I just watched Bleak House and it was great.

To the poster above who mentioned Anya Seton; have you read "The Lute Player. It was a great read.

So, ladies, I finally decided I couldn't wait any longer and I scoured the internet for the remaining episodes of season 2 as well as the Christmas episode. I will not spoil anything for anyone but...

...I'm starting to agree more with Weaver. I *really* hope season 3 turns things around a bit. Drama, yes. Unending tragedy? please no.

DAMMIT WHY DID I CLICK HERE? I've dutifully been watching the PBS airings on Sunday nights. (It's cured me of any interest in RHOATL.)

Momo, what site do you use to watch online?

My husband downloaded all of Season 2 for me via a torrent and then I used Pirate bay to torrent the Christmas episode.

Worry not though, I intend to buy them on blu-ray when they're out (FEB 7th y'all!).

I'm a tech moron. I read 'torrent' and the word has all the meaning conveyed by one of Charlie Brown's teachers. Bah!

Well, I'll keep tuning in but I need to believe in happy days for my beloved Mary.

a torrent is a way of downloading large files (like videos) off hosting sites like Pirate Bay.

ETA: Camo, I can PM you some spoilers if you want when it comes to mary. If you don't want to know, I won't tell you and I don't want to spoil any one here in this thread.
