There is another download available, its called Downton Abbey, Behind the Drama, consisting of interviews with some of the cast, backstage stuff, etc.

I've d/l'd it, but haven't had time to watch.

Oh, no, that's so cool of you Momo; I'll just keep to my Sunday tradition for now. I was sort of hoping Lavinia would disappear tout de suite, along with the publisher...I don't need to know, though, for now. I do really enjoy the feeling of something being an appointment TV show for me. Right now, it's Downton and RHOBH.

No problemo, Camo! I'm with you, I don't enjoy spoilers one bit. I just got impatient and decided not to wait for them all to air.

If I can sweet-talk him into it, my husband and I are going to play bar trivia this coming Wednesday. We'll be required to give a team name, and have settled on "Downton Arby's." Tell me you can't see Bates and Anna making lovey eyes at each other over a large Beef'N'Cheddar!

Love it,Camo!

I have been DVRing the series, and caught up with the last two weeks today. I'm taping it tonight so I can watch the SAG awards.

So, would Mary and Matthew just get on with it?!
I so hate Thomas.
I'm hoping that Edith grows up a bit and stops being the bitch in the family.
I love that Cora grew some balls and took charge of the house over Matthew's mother.

I don't work until tomorrow night, so I'm looking forward to watching tonight's episode tomorrow.

Poor William and Mr. Mason and Daisy! Jeez. I'm glad to see Isobel back. I wasn't expecting Matthew to be so seriously injured, if indeed it's a permanent injury, ay yi yi.

I'm heartily tired of the first Mrs. Bates. Over it.

Dang it, but the Daisy/William wedding made me cry. I was so glad that Daisy was there for William at the end.

I just read that Shirley McLaine will be on Series 3 as the mother of Cora. That should be interesting. I want to see Shirley and Maggie play a scene.

I finished watching "Behind the Drama" yesterday. Its pretty interesting. Closeups of the costumes, interviews with the cast in their real life clothes, etc. Bates looks about 10 years younger in real life.

Trivia team Downton Arby's (Camo and Mr. Camo) placed 3rd tonight, winning an unspeakably ugly thermal tee with a beer logo for our efforts. We competed against teams with 8 people -- such bullshit, as we were told teams had to max out at 5 players. (We are looking for a new trivia venue. Dammit.)

The worst thing was that the host kept calling us "Team Downtown Arby's." Feh.

Bumping this one...

I hated last night's episode.

- Bates is divorcing! No, he isn't! Anna will wait no matter what! Wait, the odious Mrs. Bates is dead (arsenic?) Yay?
- WTF?? Downton rips off The English Patient with the return, maybe, of original heir Patrick, burned and bandaged and Canadian??
- Matthew may or may not have recognized some penile stirrings during the ceremony Grantham threw for the end of the war? What?
- Grantham is eyeing the second housemaid, who is ALWAYS, and through no actual plotting of her own (the writing is so fucking stupid now), running into the Earl all over this enormous mansion?

The show just isn't as engaging to me as it was over season 1. I'll watch and rewatch the episodes, I'm sure, but what a bummer.

That damn Bates plotline never ends.

I wonder if Julian Fellowes was under a tight deadline or something with series two. He wasted some beautifully conceived characters.

Anyone been watching Downton Abbey? Loved the first season but it's now become worse than Days of Our Lives, with over the top melodrama, a possible amnesia victim, adultery, smart people suddenly becoming stupid, paralysis that causes impotence, an unexplained murder.......someone forgot to tell the Brits that even with all the costumes, you still need a good, believable storyline. They are already filming Season 3. Let's just hope they reject the Luke and Laura idea.

I didn't realize this topic existed so I started another thread. The above is my original post.

Matthew having a pants tent during the ceremony? Guess the chimes of the clock turned him on. This show was so good and now it sucks. Everything is telegraphed. Guess they have to get rid of Matthew's mother do they can bring in Shirley MacLaine as Cora's mother and she and Maggie Smith can have some witty repartee.

IDK, but I'm beginning to not care.

Well, I heard of British women being told to close their eyes and think of England, but Matthew was something else!

I agree with the complaints about the melodrama.Come on. Please don't insult my intelligence with all the plot twists. You know that someone overheard Bates say he wished his wife were dead, and he's going to get thrown in jail.

I just read this with one eye closed, I just started this on Netflix! I love it!!! A fox hunt and a dead gorgeous man all in Ep 2? Maybe it was 3.

I love Daisy. She's always such a happening.

I knew the second the Duke spoke to the handsome male servant outside of the Abbey it was a gay hookup, immediately for the record.
