I still have about half to watch, weaver. Thought Amy and Tina were hilarious.

Yeah, I'm gonna watch most I suspect. I love Tina and Amy. Just watched Jac B. Thought she made a fool of herself. She was hugely popular in her day, its not as if she was unrecognized, she got way more attention than she deserved, mostly because of her beauty, and of course the wet t-shirt (The Deep). She was on a gazillion covers. This is not someone laboring in the shadows, never being noticed. She was in the midst of thanking her agent when the music started...........I see no harm in interrupting that. She was dull as dirt. |

Whatever. She was never unrecognizable but for the new generation but I'm old. I still don't see why she made a fool of herself because she lost her words. No biggie to me. Yes she was on a million covers, however she was nominated for acting many times and never got any respect so I think this was a shock. Nobody but Whoopie seems to agree with me but I think she is so much prettier and more talented than someone like Gisele. I'm sure she'll start acting soon. As I said maybe she'll get surgery soon but in a way I hope she doesn't. I think that Bridget Bardot never got surgery either. You'd look at her and say OMG. She was stunning in her time. |

Brigitte Bardot has had many problems with drugs and booze and has lived in the sun in the south of France for ages. So she has aged accordingly. Jac B isn't going to get plastic surgery now, what would be the point? Look at all the English actresses who have not had work and look wonderful? She doesn't , but it is more than normal aging, it's booze or drugs. I'm telling you when I saw her in person I was shocked, and it's not as if there aren't a bunch of 70 plus women in the east 50's. They are half the population. She was way more beautiful than Gisele. And she was probably as well known , or more so, than Gisele in her day. But she is not a film icon, and didn't deserve any more time on the podium than anyone else had. |

Weaver - it's fine - I'm just saying I think she probably had a fab life - slept with incredible men and was stunning. Never say never and I may be the only person here who is thrilled she won but I am. Bored with everyone else but Meryl. Just me. Yes I agree she isn't a film icon but she worked her but off thru the years to me to get out of the sex pot she was always considered. No big deal. Many got music on the podium from what I saw today - even the "top actors" I also disagree about what's the point. Most of the English actors drink and smoke ( and many did lots of drugs back in the day). They are much less stringent than Americans. Some look better than others. Helen Mirren looked amazing. Does she say she had no work? Either way she looks terrific and is always fab on screen and a true icon and not a sexpot. I don't know. How would I and why shouldn't she simply bc she's 70? Oh and this is last I'll say on the subject. It's so silly. I also wouldn't believe 75% of the 70 yos who said they got no work done. Bunch of liars. Jackie B did look rough. But then I remembered how bad Rita Hayworth looked and acted in public. Everyone thought she was drunk, turned out to be Alzheimers. Hope that isn't the case with JB, could just have been the booze. Sadly I think this trend of free flowing booze during the awards is a bad one. Getting hammered and then going on stage to accept or present an award.. not a good look. Getting drunk and stupid in the audience and having the cameras broadcast it.. even worse. |

Ish I think the booze is the only fun thing about the globes. The Oscars are super boring. A lot booze flows though before food is served so empty stomach drinking. They always served tons of champagne. |

I'm with you, ccc. I like the Golden Globes because they aren't stuffy like the Oscars. |

I think the clothes/hair/makeup are more fun too - for better or worse. |
