Yes, Brad Goreski sits there in his too tight suit with no socks and pronounces on fashion. He isn't particularly good. And much as I love Kelly O, she overdoes the hysterical laughter. |

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/gallery/oscars-photos-red-carpet-photos-774853/90-rene-russo My favorite link for the Oscar gowns. Sorry, this is from the middle... I still love that sleek black dress with the plunging neckline and long sheer sleeves, but that's probably because it is very like something I wore to the Opera in my younger days, and that cut and style seriously works for me. Or did. ;) I thought Meryl looked great too. I like that tailored look with the low v neckline. Someone should really wear a different version of Carrie Bradshaw's dress in France, the million layer dress, now that screams Oscar! Different color though. Posted Image This one doesn't really scream Oscar, but I just love it.Posted Image Edited by Mariah, Feb 24 2015, 09:52 PM.

That Aussie actress is gorgeous, and what an outfit. She blew the big stars away. That NECKLACE, to die for. Course I could never wear anything associated with the dreaded Duchess of Windsor, nee Bessie Wallis Warfield, but doubt if this actress even knows who she is. I like that Jamie Chung dress, don't know who she is. Meryl looked great, age appropriate and elegant. Loved how she announced the In Memoriam. You believed her, unlike some of these other morons who can barely get out their one sentence spiel withoug screwing it up. Am I the only one who noticed J Lo say "bu-ins" for buttons? It was so jarring. Can J Lo go away please. Oh, and it was nice to see Shirley McLaine. Looked as if she was wearing one of her old Halston outfits from Studio 54 days. Love the old stars. |

I think J Lo was wearing the same dress as another actress. They were saying No No to their stylists. That the stylists and the designer should have known. Lol. I didn't like Reese Witherspoon's dress. And she was the one who made the big deal about not talking about who she was wearing. Apparently the designer dressed and fitted her before she told him she wasn't going to tell who she was wearing bc she wanted her craft to be taken seriously. Well then Reese, buy the fucking dress! Supposedly the designers started sending out press releases to thwart the actresses (including Julianne Moore) in case they wouldn't pony up. I have heard them ask the men who they are wearing in the past too. The red carpet is all pageantry, but I do get the actresses point. But don't expect to be dressed for free if you aren't going to give publicity. |

Also, a few months ago they showed a photo of Meryl Streep wearing the same dress that she wore like 25 years ago. It's amazing how much thinner actresses have become because looking at Meryl now, she looks so much bigger than the average actress, but 25 years ago, she was so much the norm. |

On one of the fashion after shows they just slightly curved the black band on the top of Reese's dress UP. Amazing the difference it made, it really lifted her whole look, shoulders still bare, but not the downward turn. Straight across would have worked too. I still love that black dress above so much. |

I'm late! Neil Patrick Harris is such a scaredy cat, he postures to make it seem as if he's self-assured. It's all terror. And the character is the one he played on HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER. Not good for a hosting gig time after time … it wears thin. He was great doing the Tony Awards, but now he's just a tired old … actor. I didn't appreciate the skivvies joke, BIRDMAN or not. I'm sure it's supposed to seem daring, but it just seemed crass. I hate J-Lo in the front row because she has not made one good movie -- she's like the music scene version of Jennifer Aniston. Oh, who can we get to ruin our movie? I thought Lady Gaga sang exceptionally well. I'm also pleased that she took it so seriously, as I hear she rehearsed daily for six months. There are a lot of my friends in the NYC Broadway scene who pooh-poohed her performance, but when the dust cleared, most just didn't like her final note or her acting. And I don't think she WAS acting. It was a medley, not a play! Julie Andrews CAN sing. Because if you can speak, you can sing. That's a simple fact. However, she sued whoever it was who did the surgery because they fucked up and her claim was that her voice was gone. So now, she's won that suit, and can't come back singing or she shows she lied. Meanwhile, she probably doesn't want to display a voice that is not rock solid. Her reputation means more to her than singing now. I'm certain, as a singer myself, that she sings around the house and for her family. You simply cannot stop, singing is a physical pleasure. I KNOW, 100%, Julie can still sing and probably better than most, but won't do it in public and it's easier to say "I can't do it anymore" than to hear "she's getting older; can't sing as well; the young Julie was amazing" … I miss Joan. Never liked Ransic or Osborne or Brad. Ugh. She lifted them up. I meant to watch Kathy, I like Kathy, but forgot. Now Osborne has quit, supposedly over Ransic's remarks about that chick smelling of pachouli and weed. I think she quit for the first reason she could find. Getting out before the mass exodus. The whole "don't ask me about my dress, ask me about what I'm doing" was a twitter campaign, I read. I thought it was supposed to be "ALSO ask about" as opposed to "Instead of" … but the designers had a free commercial, so I'm sure they're not happy about anything that takes focus away. If I was an actress in that position, I'd pay for a dress. To make the point. As for "not enough black actors nominated" -- um, the world is not just black and white. My issue is always that the nominations lean in one direction, no matter what direction that is. Were there Asian actors nominated? Were there Latinos? They expanded the numbers of nominees for Best Picture -- it's time to open up all the fields. Nominate EVERYONE who is noticeable. Maybe one group will have 10, another will only have four. It's time. The controversy ruins the show. I don't want affirmative action over art. Subjectivity is what it is, but open the numbers up and let the voters decide. Looks bad for everyone when it's only any one group. Love Patricia Arquette. Did I already post that? Love her, love her hair! |

Did anyone see the photos from the Met Gala? Not technically an award show, but the Fashion Institute or whatever it is called for the Met Gala's theme this year was China. Only a few people got into the theme. Most of the famewhores came with barely there outfits. SJP came with Andy Cohen with a Chinese inspired headdress. She always goes all out for the theme. I kind of wish everyone did. Jennifer Lopez came theme inspired in an illusion dragon dress. Everyone is fawning over Amal Clooney's dress which I guess went with the Red theme. She is so freaking thin in some tabloids these days. Cher was a surprise guest of Marc Jacobs. http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/projects/cp/red-carpet-watch/met-gala-2015?hp&action=click&pgtype=Homepage&module=third-column-region®ion=top-news&WT.nav=top-news |

Yeah, what is the deal? Regardless, she is gorgeous. Bey , jlo, Rihanna , Kim looked ridiculous. I hate those nude dresses. And now, OMG, Kris Jenner gets an invite to this supposedly high status ball? Justin Beiber? To me, Anna Wintour has degraded this event, but she brings in the big bucks and that's what counts. |

I loved those clothes! Thanks for posting it. Yikes, Mad Men completely shut out for ANY nominations from Critic's Choice Awards. Mad Men complete shut out in the Critic's Choice Awards. Not one nomination for anything. WOW. http://tvline.com/2015/05/06/critics-choice-awards-nominations-television-2015/ Yay for The Americans though! |

It's the overkill hype, Mariah. If they hadn't split the last season, maybe. Meanwhile, beard? yes. Clooney is gay, IMO. Maybe she's a lesbian and needed a … what would a man in that situation be? A maxi pad? Anyway, she looks skeletal, but the dress is gorgeous. |
