I thought Tina Fey and Amy Pohler did a great job last night. I watched it in bed ( sore throat and headache, hoping to head it off from becoming more) and Mr. Disco kept coming in to see why I was cracking up.
LOVED that Ben Affleck won... I've always had a soft spot for him, as well as Jennifer Garner. I loved it that he told Jennifer that he "loved her and adored her" (ya listening, JLo?;) ).
But JLo... man, she always just glows....more than a bit jelly, here!
Overall, even though I get a kick out of Ricky Gervais, I really enjoyed last night much more.

I enjoyed the show too Disco. Wasn't gonna watch, but it comes on so early here and there was nothing else on, so.........
I am a bit surprised by all the media outlets jumping on Jodi Foster's speech as her "coming out." First of all, is it news to anyone that she is gay? Secondly, her whole speech was about privacy and NOT needing to make declerations of private matters. Her tribute to her mother at the end of her speech moved me to tears. Clearly her mom must be suffering from Alzheimer's.......?

I need to watch the entire speech Dilbert - I only saw clips. I did see the beginning though and see why they thought that but as you said this is no secret at all. It would mean nothing. Why would she do that and especially on the Globes. It's so not Jodi or something she would do.

Sometimes the mainstream media and the entertainment media in particular are lazy morons. Like you said dilbert, the whole speech was about valuing her privacy and not feeling the need to declare her sexuality or anything else. That part was all about making fun of the need to do that and our need to hear it.

I think she knew this was her shot to say what she's probably been wanting to say for a while - she probably won't ever have a platform like the one she had last night and she went for it. Brava Jodie, Brava!

The speech moved many tears on camera too. The part to her mother was so well written and delivered it even touched my cold dead heart. dilbert, I too assumed her mother has Alzheimers or some sort of dementia.

I loved the whole show; Tina and Amy were fantastic.

I watched the Red Carpet on E! too. Gulianna's dress and makeup were hideous and cracked me everytime she came on the screen.

LOL! I was thinking of Velvet as I watched Giuliana. I thought Kelly O's lavender dress that she wore right before the red carpet was beautiful. I'm really liking the classic 1950's style that a lot of the stars wore. I thought Kate Hudson's dress was also beautiful. And I liked Lucy Liu's. It reminded me of a prom dress my mom had back in the '40's.
Ditto to everything expressed above regarding Jodie Foster. I think she has really handled her private life with a lot of class.

Jodi's speech. Apparently some hated it, and some loved it. I'll watch it later.

Another show missed because they keep switching networks and times...

I looked for it on NBC last night, which was where I last remembered seeing the SAG awards. Then I gave up. lol

Glad to hear Ben Affleck's Argo won a major award. Wonder how he'll do at the Oscars? Gee, hope I can find it when it's on. lol

It was on TNT I think. It was short and they repeated it a few times. First time was live. Thought Dick Van Dyke looked great. He got the special award. I had a crush on him when I was really little. I don't love award shows so I only catch a few minutes by default

I missed it too. I did check the best and worst dressed lists, and who won.

LA TIMES

Hollywood Gossip B & W

Daily News B & W

Winner's List

Huffinton Worst Dressed

Huffington Best Dressed

I did a search for the show, and Direct TV didn't even list it. Lots of clips out there though.

Thanks andme. I loved the Independent Sprit Awards. The clothes are so different than any other show and the speeches are more than just a list of names.

Thanks for the links Mariah. I'm watching Fashion Police right now, a show that facinates me because I think Guilianna and Kelly are in major need of a new stylist themselves but Joan Rivers still cracks me up and I can see the clothes in HD.
