Wow. Thanks for the link Mariah. I had to read the history of that sofa before I could appreciate that it was the anchor and inspiration for everything else. Not really my style but it all works. The tchotchkes are okay but what's with the gold high heels on top of a book on the coffee table? |

LOL, the LeTigre couch is priceless and they were eating pizza on it? And Carole is stuck with LeTigre until Lee kicks the bucket. Edited by andme, May 2 2014, 04:44 PM.

Well luxe, lush fabrics. I am sure everything including the rug has silk in it. It's not my favorite. I guess I am not sophisticated enough for it. Looking toward the window, the scale looks great. But the antique thing in the right corner looks squat. And I don't love the credenza table and I really hate the painting with the bloody X on the face. Just me. I would have redone the kitchen. And I don't love the silver ceiling with all the tone of the room. The hallway is cool, but where is it? |

The lamps on the credenza are hideous. I don't like the priceless couch, I think it's tacky looking. Hate the painting too. Yeah the ceiling doesn't work with the tone for me either but I think it's cool-looking. I would like to see Kelly back for a bit. She's crazy but so are Aviva, Sonja and Ramona. I enjoy Kelly though - her delusions make me laugh. (Not Scary Island so much, but how she thinks she's so awesome.) I read at wetpaint http://www.wetpaint.com/real-housewives-of-new-york/articles/2014-04-30-kelly-bensimon-returning-rhony-carole that she loves Carole. I can totally see that. I would love to see Kelly interact with Kristen - Kristen is younger and much hotter, whereas when Kelly was on before, she was the younger, hotter model. |

I know! Even my super affordable white Bauhaus sofa from Macys gets the blanket treatment when the kids come over. Sorry, but if I had a sofa that could "fund a summer home in France" that's exactly what I would do with it. Especially if it was LeTigre silk. |

I'm not a Kelly fan but that might be interesting Freely. Two models, one with "mileage" and one whose time is up. And if Carole likes her than maybe I've got Kelly wrong and she's smarter than she acts. |

I don' t care for the new designs either. I hate the Marilyn painting, don't like the stuff on the tables, or the end table. I'm not a fan of gold with the green chairs, or of mixing gold and silver. LOVE the new kitchen though! |

So how many places does she need to sit in that place? The Tigre sofa facing two chairs and then the curved sectional. Meanwhile no table to sit and eat or work at. And none of it looks like a place where you would want to kick off you shoes, put your feet up and lounge around in your jammies, you know, actually live in. It's lovely, but cold and impersonal. Trying too hard to be chic, cool and edgy.... just like its owner. |

The photograph of Marilyn Monroe is a blow-up from a famous proof set, where the "good" ones were Xd. So Carole has it as it was and it's a commentary on Xing through beauty, which I definitely dig. I'd have it in my NY apartment, if I had the bucks, too. She talked about the couch in her book WHAT REMAINS and so I've looked at it many times and thought about what she said about it … I didn't think it was going anywhere -- at least, not while Lee Radziwill still lives. I like the silver ceiling, because it looks like those antique tiles just a bit. I LOVE the chocolate walls with the white ribbon design, even though it is dark. NOT a fan of the gold carpet. Even vacuumed and posed for pictures, it looks dirty because of the … weft? what's that called? The way hair lays? (lies?) LOL …. Anyway, I'm so happy to cut to the chase and see the finished project, but I still need a peek at the upstairs, right? |

Oh so it's a famous photo - I get why she would have it. Icy the nap (sp?) of the carpet? I bet it has some expensive fibers. I have a carpet that is made of silk and linen, I got it at a Stark sample sale at the NY Armory about 15 years ago. It's gorgeous, but does look dirty because of it. We had a real tin ceiling in our first apartment together. Is that what you are talking about ICY or something else? It was in perfect condition. They said a lot of tin ceilings were done to cover over peeling plaster ceilings. I bet Carole's is something super expensive or something like stainless leaf or silver leaf. |

I don't know if anyone here has read this. I hadn't. It's very informative and really spells out what lead up to Sonja being sued. A couple of the lawyers at TWoP are talking about the bankruptcy and one of them posted this. http://www.hamricklaw.com/news-media/articles/it-takes-courage-strength-the-power-conviction-of-one-voice-to-right-a-wrong/ After reading it, I wonder if this is one of the biggest reasons her ex is completely over and done with her. She lead people to believe he (and his money) was involved. Edited by lovesnark, May 3 2014, 02:21 AM.

Love, love, love it. I could never live in a place like that, but it suits her. I'd cover that couch so I could sell it when Lee kicks the bucket. I'd KILL to see Lee do a scene on the show. Lee has a somewhat similar Paris apartment. I saw a story about it somewhere. Jackie had the old WASP style in her apartment, never replaced anything. Joan Rivers said she went to see it when Jackie died and it was for sale, and all the couches were shabby, nothing replaced for ages. When my friend was in Katherine Hepburn's house she said it was like that, everything old and well worn. I think those double high ceilings disguise just how small the rooms really are. weaver, did you see the interview Sofia Coppola did with Lee? Lots of photos of that apartment; I am pretty sure it was in the NYT T magazine. lovesnark, thank you for posting that article. The TWoP conversation was really interesting, but I didn't read the source until now. Since the trial and appellate courts upheld the judgment, it seems based on the evidence presented and the law as laid out by the production company Sonja left high and dry had every basis to have Sonja liable for fraudulent misrepresentations. She claimed her husband was serving with her production company, she represented that she had an enormous amount of money, liquid, to begin immediately financing films, and the production company was setting up contracts with Travolta and securing other pieces based on what she told them. The production company did due diligence - their reps called Sonja's bank, confirmed she was a client with a good reputation, confirmed she'd just financed a $2.5M film, and confirmed at the time she was married to Morgan. It turns out John Morgan wasn't involved, she didn't have that enormous sum ready to go, and when the company called her after the fact, she went back to NYC, ignored them until she couldn't, then laughed and said deals fell apart all the time. Now, she frames it as having been a problem with Travolta walking away. That just doesn't appear to be true. Further - Sonja apparently got a financier friend to call and threaten the company after they initiated litigation. The producer's regret now is not attaching that financier to the suit. So - Sonja's actions effectively destroyed the credibility of the production company, she laughed off their concerns, then threatened them after the fact. That suit is never going to go away - everything's been upheld. Sonja's whole schtick is that her word is her bond, it's gold - she ranted about that when Aviva went nuts in St. Barth's. But everything she did was willful - she claimed and affirmed in writing that she had the funds to immediately fund a project and a whole bunch of other agreements rested on that promised money, professionals investigated and then reasonably relied on what she claimed, it turned out she'd lied, and she cut and run, laughed at them, and had a moneybags friend threaten the company. That's pretty despicable. As it seems Sonja claimed John Adams Morgan was a part of her company when he wasn't, I think Sonja's primary delusion is that he'll clean this up for her. He takes care of everything financially for their daughter, I'm sure, but I'd assume he'll never be her white knight again. |

From what I gathered, it's standard to have the fee of big name actors taken care of before filming begins so a production company can't attach someone's name to a project and advertise it without actually securing them first. Travolta had made the time in his work schedule for this film and was ready to do it. When it came time to pony up his salary, Sonja disappeared and ignored the production company for days. She's lucky John Travolta didn't sue her ass, too. |
