If I lived near there I would go ccc. We could wear hats, lol!

I am sorry to hear the ratings are low, because I thought the two Aviva free episodes were some of the best ever. I've always liked this franchise the best so it figures it's on the rocks.

I've never been to Saratoga (or Belmont) but I had a college friend that was a race track fiend back in the day and almost every time I was in Seattle we would go to the track and make a day of it. I always bet the $2 box tickets and not even on every race. If you are going for the social or sporting aspect then it's not so much about the money, like ccc said, it's just being in it.

I bet like Sonja too. 9 races x $2 race means I'm only out $18 if I totally bomb. I don't understand horse racing or betting at all, we just go for fun once or twice a year, and I pick my horses based on the names I like or which jockey is cute LOL. I don't understand it well enough to bet big $, not to mention I don't have big $ to bet or lose. But I have gone with friends who understand it better than I do and who have won way more money than me. It is a little annoying but they usually buy everyone in our group a round of drinks and then all is forgiven. :)

We used to take my grandmother to the track. My dad would buy her the racing form and make her go through it to look at the stats on the horses/riders. We would go early to the track and walk through the paddocks and see the horses. Watch them warm up for each race. Then when it would come time each race (we would only bid race by race) she would either bet 2-3 (always boxed) or if there was a gray horse - she would bet on him. She liked a gray horse. If Julie Krone was riding, my mom always bet on her. Feminist from the get go! My dad would just laugh. He went through the racing form like any good accounting/finance student would!

Once we saw Julie Krone get off her horse at the end of the race and run over and pull a male jockey off his horse and throw him in the little decorative pool they had near the winner's circle. He must have done something during the race. She was tough.

We won a trifecta once, I got to the betting booth in the nick of time, like 2 seconds before they closed. Funny thing was, I think I was only like 14 or 15. Clearly too young to be placing bets. I think it was 7-1-8. We won like $800. My dad gave me some of it b/c I got the bet in. We only did $2 and $3 trifectas too. I guess if we were boxing it was more. When my grandmother got older and couldn't go, we got her a phone in account and she could watch the simulcast on tv from Philadelphia Park. We had never gone there in person, but it was on our local cable tv. We used to call in the bets for her. It really was hilarious. She was a really fun grandmother.

lol about the grey horse. We were watching warm up once - I think it was Belmont and not Preakness ((I used to go there too when I was a young little partier) but this gray horse took a dump prior to the race. We're like - he's going to win!!! He's lighter now - and he DID!

Willy... we bet the same way. When we lived in FL they had fan appreciation days where it was free to get in (usually Saturdays). We would take the kids, go down, look at the horses before betting. Mr Disco the engineer would always look at facts. I decided based on names, the colors, and yes.... the gray horse!! Again, small bets. If we won, it was also small, and we used it to keep on betting. Nice way to spend the afternoon, the kids to see some beautiful animals, mom and dad betting.
Full disclosure.. we also took our son to the casino on Good Friday... he was of age and it was on the way home from the University. You can see we don't really concern ourselves about exposing our kids to betting. And to this day, neither of our kids really care to gamble. It worked!! :)

Hope this isn't true. Its the only one I really like anymore. Somehow I think Carole, Heather, and Kristen are just too normal for the show, and people are sick of Ramona and Sonja. Lu is sort of a sideline. Aviva is unlikeable.

Oh, that sucks. Last season was my favorite HW show ever, and I'm enjoying this season despite George's reappearance.

Oh no - they may have to bring back Jill! How quiet has she been? Has she spoken about Bethenny since the trial ended?

She's been on Ally's graduation tour of Europe.

Jill wouldn't come back, it would be lose lose for her; I think the franchise is dead. If she came back and it got bad ratings, and I think it would, it would all be blamed on her.

I think most of the Ho's franchises have run their course. Atlanta still seems to do well ratings wise though.

I think you're right. I think there would be an initial bump but then it would go down. Nobody but Ramona can she spar with.

Oh no! Say it ain't so!! :'( Inspite of Aviva, this was my favorite franchise! And I thought the 2-3 weeks without Aviva were really good!

A question mark at the end of the title and "sources say" -- bullshit. They'd never completely cancel NY because everyone lives there and that makes it so easy to film and so cost effective it's better to try with new people. I do have hopes that this means Aviva will be gone and she'll take that horrible father with her!

I think if they just go without Aviva, and Countess back full-time- it would be great. The ratings aren't much lower, if any, than OC. I sometimes wonder if Andy or Bravo minions plant these things- to lower their bargaining power. I like Kristen, but I'm not sure she needs to stay either. Really hope you are right , Icy- and this is BS.

Oh I hope you're right Icy. I still enjoy RHONY minus Aviva and her creepy father.

I love the Saratoga stuff and Sonja with her betting nonsense. When will Bravo get it thought their heads that George and his shit isn't as entertaining as Sonja going after Luann at the vineyard. Not that it is entertaining but because Sonja and Luann in that scene were being real. Not manufacturing BS.
