A Place in the Sun - saw it years ago and don't remember much. Wasn't he gay too IRL?

Sonja probably knows her way around a strap on. She should call Camille if she doesn't.

I bet Sonja could get him what he needed, so she'd serve several purposes. Remember that Tenn Williams movie with Liz Taylor and Montgomery Clift?
I think it's Theodore Dreiser? maybe? Great book- Fab movie. The book is called something else, I think.

eta: * just checked Amazon :) It was called "An American Tragedy". I wish that movie were on RIGHT now!

No, it is Suddenly, Last Summer. It is by Tennessee Williams.

Yes, Montgomery Clift was gay, alas. Absolutely gorgeous in his earlier films. He had a dreadful accident after leaving Liz Taylor's house one night and never looked the same in his later movies. He was a wonderful actor. Died fairly young, booze and drugs.

Yes, he was. My DH is a fan of the old timey movies. The first time I saw Monty, I asked who he was. I'd seen him before but didn't know his name and it was the first time I'd really paid attention. After commenting several times about how handsome he was, DH finally said, "Down, girl." LOL.

Damn fine. Classically handsome man. IMO, he was better looking in moving pictures than in stills.

Oh, I love "Suddenly, Last Summer" too!Wish that one was on now too! I never read that book. I think "Suddenly" was Liz, and Katharine Hepburn and Monty- and I think Monty was the Doctor-and it was after his pretty bad auto accident he had leaving Liz' house IRL one night; he was still gorgeous but his looks were different. "A Place in the Sun" is an amazing movie, too. Shelley Winters is the Frump who gets pregnant out of wedlock by Monty, and the YOUNG Elizabeth taylor is the gorgeous socialite. That's the one based on the Dreiser "An American Tragedy".

eta: Pretty picture of Ramona and Avery- she's got her "beautiful, long blonde hair" back...

I LOVE old movies, too!

A Place in the Sun is a wonderful movie. I rewatch it every so often. Suddenly Last Summer is darker and odder, actually a bit unpleasant. But Liz looks glorious in it also. She procured gay boys for her cousin (??) in Italy, thus my comparison to Sonja and the Douglas Elliman guy.
