I think Aviva's "charity" was debunked as being brand new and basically for the cameras wasn't it? Or she piggybacked on another organization or something? I don't remember exactly. Notice she didn't mention it at all. I think Aviva is all about Aviva. Edited by Cosmocrush, Apr 17 2013, 07:42 PM.

Of course she is! I just think the timing of Bravo asking her back is suspicious. That comment though kind of backs up my guess. Bravo, how low can you go for a storyline? |

I doubt there is a bottom at Bravo as evidenced by the season immediately following Russell's suicide. That said, I don't mind Aviva coming back. It's one of the few times I feel okay about laughing at and snarking on a crazy person. Edited by Cosmocrush, Apr 17 2013, 07:53 PM.

I don't care one way or the other about Aviva really. I will give her a slight benefit of a doubt though. I feel it was probably traumatic for her, since she lost her own leg in a pretty horrific way as well, and I don't really doubt her sympathy for the victims of this. She does know, first hand, what they will be going through for years to come, more operations, fittings, learning to use prostheses, and the emotional trauma of losing leg(s) as well. As long as she doesn't bring up that so-called charity again, that is. The timing of this stinks though. |

I think so, there was a lot of stuff on the web about it at the end of last season. Probably some of it linked in this thread back then? |

Not fake at all - just not hers but she didn't really say that on the show. The whole thing seemed a little sketchy. It had been newly 'founded' and the website was basically a bio of the founder, a vague mission statement and a paypal button. Avia is the "National Spokesperson" for a foundation that as far as anyone could tell consists of one person. It was started by an amputee amateur athlete mommy with the vague idea of helping children amputees get involved in athletics. I remember it looked like it had just started and the little boy we saw on the show was so far the only beneficiary of the foundation. His family didn't seem too thrilled to be on Bravo or maybe that was me projecting for them. I don't think it's a grift or anything - they don't do much at all. I never heard of them before or since. I think it was something Aviva could put on her website and appear to be fundraising for in the way these NY hos love to host their fundraisers. |

I just looked it up. It's Amy's One Step Ahead Foundation. They are registered with the IRS but it says they were founded in 2012 and there are no tax returns for the foundation listed yet. 2012 tax info. might not appear for a few more months though. FWIW, it's the same for the Taylor Armstrong Foundation. It shows up that it's registered with the IRS, founded in 2012, but no tax info. yet. |

That stuff in Boston is SERIOUS- so many have lost limbs- not even funny (I know you guys aren't joking). But if Aviva is serious about helping she should get her ass up there NOW. Just imo...and without fricken' cameras... |

Agree ranjake, and that's why the whole "suddenly Aviva is back in the cast" shit stinks. |

Aviva really is in a great position to speak to the children who have lost limbs. She has BTDT. I sincerely hope she doesn't see this as her RHONY storyline and uses this to exploit any of the Boston victims. If she does go to them I hope it's off camera. |

Anderson cooper said that prosthetics can cost between 50-100,000 and have to be replaced every six months. Aviva should open up her checkbook. |

Yeah, and for those kids, affording different sizes as they grow, or to mimic different shoe designs and have them hand painted to match veins and skin of their other legs may never be possible. What a horrid tragedy for so many. Bravo better stay away from this unless they open their checkbook in a huge way. |
