and some more:

CR: I’ve been working since I was 13, all through my marriage, when my husband certainly could have paid my bills. I got very good advice from [the Hollywood agent] Sue Mengers, when I was offered this job. I said: “Sue, I’m thinking of doing this. It’s strange, but I’m curious, and maybe this will help with my book.” She looked at me and said: “Who are you to walk away from a deal? You’re just another single girl with bills to pay.” I thought: OK, you’re right. And I don’t pretend to be anything other than what I am on the show. I think that’s why I’m fine with how I’m portrayed.

PG: You’re clearly the reasonable one. Has your mother-in-law, Lee Radziwill, called you up to say you were sensational — or an embarrassment?

CR: No, she would never do that. I don’t think she’s watched the show, but she knows me, and she knows I have integrity in whatever it is I’m doing.

Thanks for that link weaver! Wild that Pat and Bill resumed their relationship. When HBO did the movie about An American Family - PBS rebroadcast parts of the original.

Interesting that Carole still thinks you can be a Bravo ho-wife and have integrity, although I think she had kept hers and her dignity so far; which either means she was miscast or it's actually possible.

I came away from last season disliking Carole - maybe because I felt she was a plant from Andy and was getting the favorite pet treatment. I thought she was nasty on the reunion. I started the season disliking Heather and ended up liking her the best. Holla!

weaver, thanks for the link... what a great article! I remember when they were first broadcasting An American Family and my mom thought it was " just terrrible. Some things need to be kept private". Needless to say, I love to shock her by watching the Real Housewives when I'm around her. She was actually with me when I saw the table flip for the first time.
I liked Carole at first, then found her "inauthentic" ( which would be something she would say).

Here is an excerpt from the article:

CR: There's a lot of talk about the show being scripted, and it’s absolutely not. Sometimes I wish it were scripted because it would require less work from me. But I work with the producers to create story lines, like this is what I’m doing this week: I’m meeting with my publisher, I’m taking my author photo. Do you want to film it? And they say yes or no, and I’ll invite one of the other ladies.

To me meeting with producers to create a story line sounds scripted.

I like how the interviewer called her the "reasonable one." I guess they didn't see her one-upping Luann to be a dick. While it was funny for viewers, it was immature on Carole's part. If anyone was reasonable on that show, it was Holla!

Inauthentic is a good word for her. But I kind of feel that is how she lives her life - she has created a persona that she is sticking with. I don't know how to explain it with her. The hug with Naeem when she wrapped her leg around her, the hipster chic ...

Carole is the only one - besides maybe Sonja - I'd want to be friends with IRL. Just my type. The first to hang out with the latter with whom to go out.

Ramoaner seriously needs to give up the satin. And that one shoulder look. I know it's a ho-wife staple but it always makes me think of The Flintstones.

All I see in those photos are the real housewives being filmed. Not a shock, not faked. But I believe the rest and knew it already. Radar Online is like the unofficial drama queen of the RH franchise!

I think they always set up the shot. I mean these women aren't born with mic's on their backs.

Meanwhile, looks like Luann did re-sign:
