Also, all reports claim that the stuff that got aired was TAME compared to that which was left on the cutting room floor. Kelly legit wigged out, no question. |

Bethenny definitely had a sour opinion of Kelly, based on Kelly's behavior of flirting with B's boyfriend and not even remembering she'd met B. That's valid, IMO. It didn't make B treat Kelly bad: it just made Kelly fair game if she acted up. And she did. So she got the standard B treatment, which B doles out equally to all offenders. The difference is how Kelly took it. IMO she went off her meds and had a breakdown and was probably a physical danger to everyone on Bravo's payroll on Scary Island, including the cast members. She wants to put it behind her, which is fine. Rewriting what happened is amusing but a big FAIL, IMO, because Bravo has it on tape, we can see it over and over so it's not going anywhere, so she'd just doing more damage to her already cracked reputation by trying to deny it. She really is stuck at 14 years old. It won't be long before her daughters will surpass her and become caregivers. I'm sorry for them most. |

I think her daughters are already doing that. Remember Kelly's conversation with them about doing Playboy? They both told her it would bother them if she was naked in a magazine and they didn't think it would be a good idea. She stared blankly at them for a while and then did something like agree with them and tell them she was doing it. One rolled her eyes. It's was pretty obvious they are used to their Koo Koo mom. They must have great nannies, they seem like lovely kids. I say nannies, because remember when Kelly freaked out that the 3 rotating nannies schedule was messed up and she was going to have to be alone with her daughters for a 1/2 hour or something minor like that? |

Yep she's nuts but she's actually really nice in person. Her kids are sweet too. I agree with Fin that she just lost it totally. Maybe she blocked it out or maybe she just can't come to admit what happened. Good thing those 2 are separated and hopefully for good. |

I don't remember this. Was it on the show? Kelly always appeared to me to be an involved mother who spent tons of time with the girls. Where did you hear about her flipping out over having to spend a half hour with them? If true, thats sad because Kelly is a lot of things, but totally negligent toward her kids didn't seem to be one of them. |

Don't forget she supports animal rights by wear fur jacket vests. :( I agree that whatever was going on during the Scary Island trip Kelly has rewritten it in her memory. |

No the nanny thing was not on the show so I don't know if it was true or not. I'll let it go because I highly doubt she had 3 nannies. She had no nannies with her when I met her or they were hiding. |

I don't remember Ryebread. It may come to me. Sorry. Oh, I think Kelly loves her kids, but when I read that, I remember thinking something like, "she knows something is wrong with her, and that the kids need another adult with them." It wasn't like she wanted to avoid them, just that she always had a nanny, they worked in 8 hour shifts, one came to relieve the next. One day the schedule was messed up or traffic was bad or something and one was 15-30 minutes late and she had a meltdown. Or that maybe it was a divorce condition, that her husband made sure there was always a nanny there. Damn, where was it? Some insider scoop maybe, so perhaps just gossip, but whatever it was, it sounded more credible than BS. It may have been in that same article from the person/people that worked at the magazine with her, and dished a lot of dirt about her temporary "editor" job. Edited by Mariah, Jun 22 2012, 05:15 PM.

I think that was Cindy Barshop! Mother of the Year that one! Kelly is a loving mother IMO, but she is crazy! ETA - Sorry Mariah, I thought you were talking about the time Cindy wanted to fire her nanny because she wasn't getting up at night or somehting. Edited by Finestra, Jun 22 2012, 05:22 PM.

Cindi did that on the show though, remember bringing along a nanny to that island, even when she left one twin home? Cindi Barslop does work though, so I can see the need for nannies. |

IIRC it was a former assistant dishing the dirt on Kelly who coincidentally mentioned the nannies. Remember when Camille Grammar caught shit for having multiple nannies? Good times, good times. Andyway, the assistant was not calling Kelly out for having nannies at all, just for flipping when one was late. Also, she revealed that Kelly likes to put whiskey in her morning coffee. And really? We're back to someone not being a good mother if she has nannies? |

Yay, someone else remembers. I think someone who has nannies or uses daycare is fine, working or not. Sometimes you need adult time. In the olden days (ha) people often had family who lived close by and a granny, aunt, or cousin could watch the kids while you took a sanity break, or went shopping for groceries without hauling bored screaming toddlers with you. Freaking out when one is late and you are just home for the day, not running out for an appointment or work is kind of strange. Cindi bringing along a nanny and two assistants for one baby at a kids party? Seemed off. Especially leaving the other twin home. Edited by Mariah, Jun 22 2012, 05:34 PM.

I think Cindy sucked as a mother, nannies or no. Do you remember when she went out to dinner with one of the twins and her parents and couldn't deal? She complained that she had to fire one of the nannies because the nanny didn't want to stay over night. And how she was up all night because she could hear the nanny taking care of her crying baby. There is nothing wrong with having a nanny or two, but I got the feeling that Cindy delegated motherhood to the nannies and treated the twins as more of accessories or check-offs for the list of life's accomplishments. I think it is great that someone like Kelly who comes across as emotionally unstable and out of touch with reality would have nannies. Kelly is always tweeting that she is with her girls. I am glad that there is another adult around. |

The woman I worked for (when I was a nanny) would take me along so she didn't have to focus every second on her child, so she could visit without having to be interrupted. Of course, the other mothers there had no nannies, so I'd help out by watching their kids somewhat, or I'd chat with a mother who joined me with the kids. I am still friend with two mothers from that group. Plus, sometimes she had a break during the day that allowed her to come to the park, but after she's have to go somewhere else and couldn't come all the way back home, so we'd take two cars ... There are many circumstances, but the best reason why is for consistency. Same person, trusted, you never have to arrange babysitting. The people I worked for owned restaurants and had books and product lines they managed. But the grandmother lived full time with them and HATED me. Well, she hated that her daughter used a nanny. But she wasn't capable of taking care of the grandchild, mostly because she had three dogs and didn't want to travel. And she smoked and the parents didn't want her around the grandchild smoking. So they had to have a nanny. |

Agree Finestra. With both points. I think being able to afford a nanny would be great. I know two women who were nannies, sisters of a good friend of mine. From Utah, both worked in NYC, where apparently Utah nannies are popular. (the no smoking, drinking, sex stuff) Although neither were LDS, both were Catholic. I think they kept that to themselves when job hunting and the "Utah" thing got them primo gigs. Oh, the dollar store had the sequel to the Nanny book! I read it, they resolved the whole thing with the little boy who was crying when they fired her in the Hamptons and shoved the puppy into the cab with her. Edited by Mariah, Jun 22 2012, 05:43 PM.
