I'm sure she isn't going to be asked back. I also had no problem with Jill but it's in the past now anyway. I just hope that Bethenny doesn't try to get her on her show to boost ratings. Jill would be stupid to do that. It would be an obvious set up |

Bethenny is not going to do that. She's never even reached out to Jill about seeing her baby. That friendship is over. |

Hmm...I kind of disagree, Icy. I think if her talk show ratings sucked badly enough, Jill would be booked as a guest. Bethenny has been able to "take the high road" because she's been successful since leaving RH. I think if things aren't going so well, she'd do anything to stay famous. LOL...apparently, Simon doesn't want to go back to RHNY.

Would Bethenny do it? Has Jill been kicked to the curb enough for Bethenny to be "magnanimous" and have her on? At this point, I don't know if Jill would help the ratings. |

I see Jill as poisonous, too, but more importantly, Bethenny would not want to burn bridges with Andy or Bravo -- and Jill is causing them consternation at this point, free publicity or not, they don't like being quoted or having behind the scenes tattlers credited with saying they're regretting any decisions. Look how Andy lost his shit towards Simon's use of "insiders" .... I think Bethenny saw through Jill and more than the upset at how fame changed her, saw that for Jill, she was completely expendable. I cannot see B going down that path ever again. The B ship has sailed! |

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. ? I love that thing from Maya Angelo. It's one thing I've taken from Oprah's show (along with never let a kidnapper take you to a new location) that sticks with me, and I've found so useful. "Once someone shows you who they are? BELIEVE them." (the FIRST time!) This isn't about someone simply making an error or snapping at you because perhaps their own life has issues at the moment, it is about their core. Don't keep going back for abuse. |

Never let a kidnapper take you to a new location. What? Explain, please. |

It was on her special about safety. If you are ever being robbed or whatever, IF they take you to a new place, you will be killed or raped, so the tip was NEVER let them, do whatever it takes, your best chance to survive is when it's starting, if they try to take you elsewhere, that is a place they've already chosen/prepared, and you are screwed. A few family members are cops too, and they agreed. Scream, kick, do whatever you can to not be moved to a new location, kick out the tail lights of the car if you are in a trunk, fight them off IN the parking lot if they have parked next to you or entered your car. Honk the horn like crazy even if there is a gun in your face, Drive the car into a pole or another car. At the first location they are not in as much control as they will be at the next. Sometimes cooperating can save your life, but almost never if they are trying to take you someplace else. Another good tip is to never park next to a panel-van, and if one has parked next to you, go get a store person to walk you to your car. Many women are abducted when they are alone and opening their car door, panel door slides open, you are pulled into their panel-van, and no one sees it. Keys out and between your fingers is another tip, it acts like brass knuckles with points should there be a problem. Edited by Mariah, Jun 26 2012, 05:12 PM.

I saw that on another program, too. And drilled it into my kid's head from the moment he was old enough to understand. He went to a "Stranger Danger" class when he was about 4. And they teach the kids, if someone tries to take them, to just start yelling like crazy "THIS IS NOT MY PARENT! THIS IS NOT MY PARENT!". It's the same theory: do whatever you can do - no matter your age - NOT to get to the next destination because like you said, once you're there, then you're screwed. Excellent advice. Yeah, he said even if they have a gun RUN. One shot is unlikely to kill you especially if you are moving, BUT, the shot will bring attention and that is the last thing they want. Scary, but wonderful advice. |

We just watched the movie Taken, with Liam Neesom, whose daughter gets kidnapped by a guy she meets at the airport. It was scary to watch and makes me not want to let my kids go. But it also scared the bejesus out of my kid. I think you guys have excellent advice. We had a guy in our town (in a van) telling kids he had a bear cub in his car and did they want to come see it. |

I love that movie! He was so good in that. That van advice is really good. If the panel van is parked by the driver's side, get attention from others in the parking lot or go back into the store and get someone to escort you. It's such an easy way to snatch someone. I tacked something on to my other post, but I'll put it here instead. My sister was kidnapped by Ted Bundy. (yes really) Long story short, she jumped OUT of his car (going 80 MPH back before speed limits were changed to 55) on a freeway leading to the mountains. She rolled about 50 feet down a culvert and aside from cuts and bruises, she was OK. She waited until she saw a station wagon full of kids behind them. Those people stopped and rescued her, called for help. We didn't know it was Ted Bundy until they caught him and my sister recognized him on the TV. She was 16, fit the profile, long dark hair parted in the middle. We didn't know why the FBI was constantly at our house until years later...she was one of the few who lived and had seen this mass murderer, and could talk about his methods. (He pulled a knife on her, and she should have run screaming, but she got in his car, too scared to do anything else at that shocking moment.) When his face came on our TV, the sound was off, but my sister went white and pointed at it, it took a while for her to speak. "That's him." SUCH a shocking moment. It was years later. (this should be in the real life crime thread, but I don't go to that thread, I get upset with all of that stuff...wimp) Edited by Mariah, Jun 26 2012, 05:18 PM.

My SIL's sister was murdered and though he was never convicted of HER murder, the FBI suspected it was Bundy. Within 2 or 3 years both of their parents died - both of them devastated by the murder of their daughter - leaving my SIL (who I think was in college at the time) with only a brother. The sad ending to this story is that my SIL ended her life in her thirties with her brother doing the same not long after that. So fucking sad. My family has always wondered if the dysfunction stemmed from the murder of that girl. How's your sister now? Edited by ryebread, Jun 26 2012, 05:27 PM.
