What ever happened to esoterica and porcelana to get rid of "unsightly" age spots? Lol. I think they really used to call them liver spots!

Were they just bleach in a jar?

I've noticed more freckles on my left arm since I left NYC and started driving a car. All that sun shining on that arm and only that arm. In NYC I worked at night and slept most days, so my skin stayed pale and freckle-free.

Babies have no freckles when they are born. It is all from the sun "they" say. Birthmarks are the only things there at birth.

The talk about looking older/younger than one's chronicle age (thanks Ramona) is very interesting, especially that Kyle and Jill don't read as just five years apart, but as from different generations. Sandra Bullock is 49, so Jill's age, right? And yes, she's a totally gorgeous movie star but I'm under the impression that a big part of the NY Housewives' lives and daily routine is maintenance-focused, including those who work like Ramona. I think she looks fresher and more youthful than Kyle, by a lot.

I think Sandra had some major work done this year to her face.

like fillers/botox? She is quite shiny in lots of photos. I can't get over how good she looks though.

Shiny is better when you get older. Makes you look younger. That powder makes your wrinkles come out but she definitely had work done. She's very nice IRL. I never met her but I know friends of hers and she really is a sweet one which is rare.

There was a picture of her on Fashion Police in a black lace dress. She looked stunning.

From today's Post:

Ramona Singer and husband Mario sitting at the back of a plane in coach from Atlanta to New York. After Page Six revealed he recently “knocked up a socialite,” we’re told, “People on the plane were snickering, and one girl said, loudly, ‘I wonder if he will support my baby?’ ” . .

My only reaction was, COACH?

That's why she has money. It's a short flight. Silly to pay for business class.

Wow, are they broke? Has the bottom fallen out in religious jewelry/facial cream/wine?

Haha, andme.

Another thing I've noticed is the "helicopter parent" thing with Jill and Ramona. There seem to be all sort of parents' weekends and things of that sort. Didn't have them in my day, thank heavens. What do poor kids do on those weekends? Surely every parent can't afford to pick up and fly to whereever for three days.

A woman in my building moved to a new apartment (co-op) last weekend. Her parents came to help her move, she is OVER 40! Of course they bought the coop for her, because she can't afford it on her own. These "kids" don't mature.

They have them at my Alma. Not sure if I remember them having them back in the 80s. Basically they just take you out to dinner then you go out with your friends and as a parent you hang out with other parents you have befriended or know already. Lots of alumnae at my school.

My old boss in NYC goes to all his daughter's "parents weekend" events up in Maine. He was just posting how this is the last year he'll get to do it because she's graduating.

Weaver most parents do go to parents weekends - at least the first year. Jill has gone both (?) year that Ally has been at Vandy. We just took my son out to eat and food shopping.

Worse than parents weekend are parents of kids who play sports in college. The parents are kind of expected to go to every game - even if it is hours away. With soccer, parents are all assigned a game to provide a dinner for the team and families after the game - even the away games! I know parents that drive 4-5 hours every weekend. Local families are assigned games near their houses. I think it is crazy. And the parents think it is crazy but no one wants to buck tradition.
