Anyone watch the new one? I think her name was Mary?

She kept a laundry basket of snacks in her room that she called the "sweet bin". And she was missing every other tooth. She always had manicured nail tips, tho.
I never understand how these people attract reasonably normal husbands.

This one's sister was hugely obese too, although the mother seemed average weight, and intelligent. The patient (Mary?) did not seem all that controlling so I wonder how she got the others to go along all these years.

Do all the big stores have motorized vee-ha-cals for shopping?

My shop rite doesn't! Lol. But you know what. We were at Disney with my SIL who was dying of cancer, so she was entitled to use a motorized scooter. You needed a Drs. note. They had weight limits on them. I don't think they are rated for 600lbs.

Oh Dear God..I forgot about her at the grocery store on the scooter buying out the donut section.

I hope they do a follow up on her. I can only imagine what the skin surgery would entail.

Somehow I found her more tolerable because the weight was in the middle. So shallow of me, I know. I can't bear it when the weight is in the legs and ankles. I can't look at them.

I loved how she got all gussied up with makeup, etc, and then she opened the toothless mouth. Maybe she can get to a dentist next year.

Yeah. I wish her well. She was one of the nicer ones.

i just watched an old one - Ashley? They followed her for 7 years. Mean snarky mom. Her father died year 6. Sad. But she never really gained the weight back. Ended probably either low 300s or high 200s.

I am watching Penny now. They are doing a marathon now.

"Bottom line the only person who is going to know what is going to work best for you is you" - Penny. Yeah, that's worked well for you. That's why you weigh 600 lbs.

I am watching Tara now. I think her name is Tara, maybe Taylor. She isn't losing enough. She is on High protein low carb, but she is eating tuna salad on Club crackers. Why aren't they given real nutritional counseling from the beginning?

I wonder how Penny feels when she sees these other women, who have their stomach's sliced open get up and walk around after surgery when she complained so much about just standing up? Is she embarrassed? Did she not realize that other participants were actually going to lose weight?

That's what I don't get, too, fin. They have to give them nutritional counseling, right? I think they just don't listen or choose to ignore.

I think the nutritionist doesn't get sent in until they have failed for a few months. They probably meet with the dietician at the hospital who goes over the diet, but no one ever goes over their eating choices at home with them. They should probably have to go through a label reading lesson with sample bottles and be told NO HAM. Lol.

ETA - and geez can't they all get psychological counseling. First of all, it seems like the majority of the women have been either raped or molested. And I don't think anyone gets that obese without having some deep psychological problems.

Very true. And I think you're right. They get nutritional counseling, but don't get that bread, donuts, etc are carbs. And that fast food is a bad idea. They either are not intelligent, or hear what they want to hear.

Wait until you see Charity. I've never seen a body type like this one. Hard to look at. Hubby seemed a bit slow and daughter is well on her way to looking like Mommy. No bottom teefus I guess based on the way she was gumming the food.

Oh, is she the one they have been promo'ing who says she is addicted to food, with the purple shirt sitting in the bed with the largest legs I have ever seen? I haven't watched this week. Last weekend they did a marathon, and my family almost rebelled.

Oh...wait until you see the "butterfly shaped fat deposits".

How on earth did she meet her fiancee? He did seem slow.

Fifty seven pounds worth, and that wasn't even all of it. Eighth wonder of the world. Really grotesque, I could not look at the screen when they were doing the bathing scenes, or the "lets show the open sores" shots.
