Wow.

I'm glad I read a couple of comments and watched this one. SO good.

FX, and if you aren't watching, you probably want to give this one a try, since it just started and I have a feeling it will be a classic. Billy Bob Thornton is just chilling, in a very interesting compelling way. I can't take my eyes off him. Love the female cops too. The nagging wife. All of it. It's just become "must see" for me.

Oh, and holy shit. I added this topic about 30 minutes into the first time I watched the first show, and even more keeps happening.

Does it pick up where the movie left off or is it like the movie? I think my husband might enjoy this. WE loved the movie!

I never saw the movie. It's not the same characters, but they are similar from what I understand.

It's only going to be 10 episodes TOTAL, more's the pity. This was so good, like watching a film. There is no way anyone wouldn't enjoy this!

The scenes are so well done they are burned in my memory, especially certain moments. Really, honestly, amazing work.

This kind of explains it without spoiling the show (too much)

Thanks Mariah. I think we'll DVR it and watch with the boys this summer.

Do they solve a new crime in every episode or do you have to watch from the beginning?

From the beginning. It's a 10 episode arc.

I love it, too, Mariah. I started watching the movie on Netflix yesterday but haven't finished it as of yet. Billy Bob is the perfect fit for that role.

I didn't like this episode as much, hopefully it gets better again.

There were just too many "dumb" things going on, so I found it frustrating. Billy Bob was still excellent though. The whole idiot is the new Sheriff thing annoyed me. The Deputy being repeatedly thwarted bugged me. Lester was in the hospital, the victim of a violent, unsolved crime, and they don't even notice, let alone treat a shot gun wound on his thumb?

Just a lot of "yeah, too much to buy" idiocy.

Billy Bob is still amazing in this role, but I am getting frustrated with the endless thwarting of good cops by bad cops. Anyone else?

Is anyone still watching? It was pretty great this week too, although the dumb sheriff is annoying me to no end. A good recap if you need to catch up on who is who or events in this thing so far:

This is a really good recap, I totally missed the first point the recapper makes, for some reason I thought that tape Malvo was listening to was Lester. I thought the tape quality distorted his voice. Duh! \

Sepiwall's is really good too. http://www.hitfix.com/whats-alan-watching/review-fargo-a-fox-a-rabbit-and-a-cabbage-apple-pie-a-la-malvo

I know the season's been over for a while. Anyone interested in chatting about it as I watch?

OMG, the first episode was so good. Love Billy Bob Thornton, but was bummed when he kilked the police chief with the pregnant wife. The female deputy is so smart in a folksy sort of way.

Billy Bob was pulled over by the cop and told him to just walk away if he ever wants to see his daughter again. So good and so creepy.

Wasn't sad to see the wife or the bully bite the dust. Not sure how the insurance salesman is going to cope with it all.

Overall, just loved the show.

It just keeps getting better!

Yeah, Billy Bob was extremely scary with the cop, I kept praying for him to just walk away. He is so perfect for that role. Actually, ALL of the cast is just perfect.
