I can't believe I stumbled on this w/o even looking. Several years ago my cousin showed me a board game his dad had, similar to risk (more so to axis and allies). All I could remember was it had a picture of someone who appeared to be Saddam Hussein on the cover.

Long story short I was just browsing the SA forums, a very common occurrence, and saw it in the forgotten trends thread. The game is called Fortress America. Anyone played it?

http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/99

I'd like to get as much info on the set as I can, I've got a PDF of the manual and a ghetto MS Paint lookin version of the board. I think I still need piece info (how the total game pieces are divided [ie army 1 infantry pieces 20, army 1 mech pieces 10, etc.) and card info.

I looked on eBay.
Evidently, copies of the game are rare. Being someone who is actively involved in eBay and sees these kinds of things all the time, it's good information to know. This game in particular, is, like I said, rare. So rare they're fetching $50.00+ in good shape.
I might be able to find it cheap, but used. I have family that will look at Garage Sales, antique malls, flea markets. They make a killing off of reselling on eBay.
I'll put word out, and If I happen to get my hands on a copy, I'll let you know and just USPS it out to you. If you ever get bored with it, it's an easy $25+ if you sell online.

To be honest, I'm totally surprised Milton Bradley doesn't reissue it just because of how well current sales are.

And, pertaining to your signature:

Awesome. I just had to format, my mom got a shitload of adware somehow. I'll tell you now, you should totally view this site in 16 colors at 800x600. By open wheel I was referring to professional (IRL, F1, former Champ, etc.). Classic dirt open wheel is fine, although I've never really gotten into it.

BTW, GTA4 for PC is confimed, http://www.moddb.com/forum/thread/gta-iv-now-confirmed-for-the-pc-take-two-taken-for-a-rider-duped#490715.

The game is so good, I'll re-buy it for PC whenever it comes out and whenever my hardware supports it.

Last game I tried on my "fast" pc was Bioshock, it ran sort of good, but I played it at the same settings I played through doom 3 (800x600, most crap on medium/high). Seeing how massive GTA4 is, I really would have to buy a new PC.

Then again, will be a year or two or so, so I probably will have enough monies by then.

And to the semi-original topic: Board games are the shit. Remake it with GM or something :D.

I don't like all the dedications you have to make in GTA IV with the damned cell phone.
I think that R* ought to add even more cars and ditch the "once you hijack a car that you can only ever find one of, every other car is that car" algorithm.
Of course, blowing shit up, etc. has never looked better.

IMO, GTA IV walks the very, very fine line in between being fun, and being too close to being real life.
Then again, I can't imagine anything else they could do to really make it more fun.

I would love to see Vice City remade. Not a sequel, remade. Using the GTAIV engine.
I miss the eighties.

I checked into the 80's this morning. All there was was a gas shortage and a flock of seagulls - that's about it.

EDIT

There's an add for BBW Romance at the bottom of the page. :D

So yes, hello, hello, everyone.
Does anybody play TF2, Halo 3, or Forged Alliance?
It's what I do now, and if anyone plays and would like to know my info please PM me.
I would just put my info here, but I'm paranoid about getting junk mail and probably wouldn't recognize who was adding me, hope you understand.

Also, not to distract from a board game semi topic, but I was wondering if anyone watches PurePwnage. I recently joined their 'gamer army' and am planning a super awesome fun trip to Canada in a week to see the premiere of the new episodes in Toronto.

Another sub-topic - Battlestar Galactica
I built a 'pyramid' court and it's actually quite fun to play. If anyone is remotely interested by that you're probably a really cool person. If anyone is interested in building their own, I could give you a materials list and basic instructions. It cost about $40 and 5 hours to build (one afternoon).

I guess that is all until next time.
BTW, I love the 'gentlemen' spy spray in TF2. Where exactly does it come from?

I'm an avid TF2 player, but I don't get much time to play these days because of work.

The "Gentlemen" spy spray is a cross between the "File Photo" of Homer Simpson from an episode of the Simpsons (where Homer had a shitload of cigs stuck in his mouth for some reason) and the "Gentlemen" part comes from the Spy's voice responses. It fits because the Spy is a chain smoking bad ass.

We should all make our own 'gentlemen' sprays. Only problem for me is I don't have a ski mask.

And, yes, that Mustang looks like shit.

My friend was a spy for Halloween last year. Unfortunately I hadn't played TF2 yet and didn't know what he was. He had a fantastic red suit and ski mask and everything, so I appreciated it a lot more later once I'd played the game.
