Found the game. It was WWF Smackdown! I mean, that game just was ridicilious. From the fact apart of the create-a-wrestler thing where you could really make some fuckd up people, it was just total mayhem. I also recall a long time ago that actual WWE matches were being broadcasted here. Those times were amazing. I mean they only broadcasted for a season or two or so, but always hilarious. Around the time that the "The Rock" returned or something. I can't remember. Also, the time that cartoon network wasn't fucked up. They broadcasted cool shows like ed, edd & eddy, Johnny Bravo, Dexters secret laboratory and another channel broadcasted Dragon Ball Z. Why is TV so shit these days? |

Because kids like dumbed down versions of what they've seen/heard a million times. For instance, Spongebob is a super dumbed down Ren and Stimpy. |

I have a theory. It states that the problems with kids today is because of crappy cartoons. You can see that with an increase in childhood stupidity later turning in to a terminal case of wanker-ism, the sophistication of children's TV has declined. So I point the blame not only at MySpace and the like, but also at Nickelodeon, for axing some of the best cartoons, or turning them into degenerate crap. |

We never had Salute Your Shorts here in Australia, but we had everything else. EDIT: The problem with Boomerang is that its humour is too dated. Shows like Rocko's Modern Life, Ahh Real Monsters and so on had double meanings in practically everything; you laugh at them today for completely different reasons. Like Ahh Real Monsters is like one big surrealist nightmare, Invader Zim is a parody of rampant consumerism and futurism. Rocko's Modern Life has plenty of innuendo. Sexual innuendo! Older cartoons like The Jetsons and The Flintstones are just slapstick humour and little else. Edited by Soldant, Jul 14 2008, 12:30 AM.

The Flintstones were used to make light of Violence, drinking, smoking, conspicuous consumption, animal abuse and other values that children shouldn't have been taught were good things. And their generation turned out OK. Coming soon on THE NEW POLITICALLY CORRECT FLINTSTONES Fred Flintstone joins Alcoholics Anonymous with his "African-American" friend La'Bar'nee'shaun Rubble, and active asian, full-time-laborist and ambiguously-not-a-housewife Wil Ma, supports them for the health of their handicapped baby, pebbles. Not only does Fred realize his alcohol-binging ways are hurting his family and social life, La'Bar'nee'shaun, (a wholesome contributive member of society who has no correlation toward the statistic that black men ages 18-50 are most likely to commit crimes in the United States and are the statistically most-addicted to drugs), introduces Fred to a support group dealing with Animal rights. Seeing how unjust his life thus far has been, Fred Flintstone finds Jesus and defects from his beloved buffalo lodge to the Peace Corps. The Flintstone family learns in this episode that it's okay to not be perfect, because in the end, Uncle Sam and Jesus love you. I hate Politically Correct with deep, deep-fried passion. |

Yeah I remember Catdog, that one was towards the golden age of Nicktoons. Invader Zim was the last thing with a Nickelodeon tag attached that I ever bothered to watch. |

I didn't really care for any hanna-barbera shows (flintstones, jetsons, scooby doo, etc). I do like Tom and Jerry though. Ren & Stimpy was awesome. It's humour was so dark in places that I doubt it's that good for kids, but now all those shit pokémon ripoff shows with trading card games attached can't really be good either. I didn't really care for catdog, but only because it was localized and the voice acting was just plain horrible/annoying. Also, the original Doug was indeed great. I don't think invader zim got aired here. First and last time I saw it was at lowlands, randomly on a big screen (about 15 meters in diameter), and watched that for about an hour in the middle of the night. Also, things not listed in this topic: Angry Beavers (Although annoying at times, has it's great moments). Inspector Gadget (The original show was ace, the new one is do-not-want.) Pinky and the Brain (Again, when not localized, ok, when translated its seriously DO NOT WANT) Yogi Bear (Yeah, that was sort-of meh, but I was like 5-6 when I watched that). What I'm really hating about current nick shows is that the animators are so goddamn lazy, and use flash-esque (stretch and scewing of sprites to make a sort-of animation, of simply rotating things). Not only gives me that headaches, you just see how poor they draw stuff. Things I like being aired at nick right now are the Fairly Odd Parents (So much random references to everything), and that's about it. |

Nick I'll watch Spongebob where there is absolutely nothing else, but generally nothing is good til N@N when I can watch some Fresh Prince and Family Matters. Cartoon Network I like Courage, wish they hadn't stopped making new eps. I love the art style they do on a lot of it, using real images and applying them for ground and stuff. Adult Swim I wish they'd make new Harvey Birdman, greatest show ever on there. Edited by Vicious1988, Jul 14 2008, 09:14 PM.
