I didn't even notice!

My plasma telly notices these things! It is the reason I have barely played Banjo - nuts and bolts. That map with its hideous bright white ring leaves a lovely retention ring on my TV.

I always sit playing games thinking the worst thing I ever did was to have bought plasma over LCD. Then I watch a bluray movie and realise why I decided against LCD :)

Yeah yeah, I am a baby with my telly :P
My 50" G10 seems pretty much immune to any screen burn , an entire afternoon of Soccer Saturday is just shrugged off upon channel change

Oh I'm sure I mollycoddle my TV. I mean you do have to look carefully for it (retention rather than burn in I hasten to add) and is only when bright white things are permanently onscreen for any length of time.

Usually what I do when I've finished gaming, is flick to a snowy channel for a few minutes to help ease it along. But yeah, bloody paranoid I am. Had a heart attack the first time I played Rockband and 3 hours later saw the score glowing away in the top right corner. Took a fair while for that to disappear. I have a panny the same as Juz as well (the Z which I believe is the model before yours Dunkle), and they are supposed to be bullet proof.

I have to say that ours has a permanently burnt-in "Pause" symbol from Sky+....we musta left it on for a few hours once, and it's quite visible on completely black backgrounds.

I know it is only a rental - but if it bothers you, leaving a snowy channel on does wonders for helping to get rid of that kind of thing. Normal viewing takes ages to get rid of really noticeable stuff (like my rockband score for example. I left normal channels on and could see it for ages afterwards. I stuck the snowy channel on and it sped up the process no end)

Dude - this "pause" symbol's been on there for about 5 months now! I doubt that'd sort it...plus I ain't that fussed as we'll probs upgrade again soon.

I see Wolfenstein is £9.99 at Gameplay . Is it worth picking up? There are quite a few FPS's that I missed (Bioshock 2 I wanted more, and thats £20 new now). Can anyone not only recommend, but over any of the other bargain games?

Wolfie was a rental that I abandoned...it was that good. A shame as I was a massive fan of RTCW.

Bioshock 2 = wonderful.

However....I never buy these linear/story games - just rent em.

Zavvi is the place to be for bargains at the moment. Crackdown 2, Alan Wake and Kane and Lynch 2 each for under £17.

I also picked up Alpha Protocol for £12.99 at Play. Average reviews for sure, but amazing word of mouth on many forums.

Blimey! Is it?! I thought they never made that many full packs, but evidently not.

I've taken a punt as I loved GH1 on the PS2.....briefly and I've always wanted a wireless plastic guitar.... Shame the track listing is so utterly non-metal though.

Never post when pissed! I meant to say "Game" in the original post with link! Whoopsie.

Sorry for any confusion. ;)
