Started playing State of Decay on XBLA and although it is janky as hell, it is a hell of a lot if fun to play. Seems to be getting a lot of love on the net. It has also become the second fastest selling XBLA game behind Minecraft, so I guess it is doing something right. I never get bored of beating zombies to death :)

Finished Last of Us the other day. Looks ok in parts (close up detail looks great, but they can't do decent draw distance for shit) and the story kept me going, as did the excellent voice acting.

But just like Uncharted, Naughty Dog have yet to make a game which is less linear than my dick. Same old Uncharted formula.....explore a little, some exposition, then get bogged down in combat or stealth....then rinse and repeat. Internet fanboys won't admit it, but if someone walked into a room and saw you playing this - and had any knowledge of Uncharted - they would be forgiven for thinking you were playing that series.

Nice game overall and worth experiencing, but 10/10? Fuck off. (no idea what this site gave it. If you gave it ten, go and change it right now. I'm off to peek and see)

TLOU got a 9, and it's worth every bit of it you miserable old git, if only for Ellie and the way she hops out of your way and comes to your rescue. :P ;)

Bin playin BF3 again (just seems to annoy/frustrate/delight/amuse & amaze me more every time I play it-why anyone would play CoD~BLOPS in preference to this is a complete mystery to me.)

A bit of Moto GP 13 when I can get my hands on our promo copy. After countless tries I think Milestone have just about nailed it this time. The game engine looks tired but the bike handling is superb, and I can actually keep a bike on the track and do fast lap times using the on-bike view now. I can't wait to see what they do with PS4/Xbone graphics.

Did it also get that 9 for the way she runs around in front of the bad guys while they completely ignore her ;)

Enjoyed the Last of Us but preferred the Uncharted games
The beginning of the Last of Us was too long and drawn out and for all the pretence of it being clever with clever AI go out the window when you realise any large groups can be taken out with 2 x Molotovs and that the bow and arrow is the best stealth weapon

The clever AI stuff was certainly messed up though, on no end of occasions im carefully sneaking around and Ellie just runs around, often right in front of a group of guards etc

Still loved it though and the last couple of hours showed just how good and close to perfect games can be

Im enjoying my PS3 of late mind, used much more than my 360 (I guess the falling out of love with MS over the integration of Kinect into the XBONE is reason)

PS+ has to be one of the best things to happen to gaming - got Saints Row III and Battlefield on the go at moment

PS+ is great if you don't care too much about being current with your gaming tastes. If you like to read people's experiences with a game (and feel a part of a community if you like), or join in multiplayer, then it perhaps isn't for you.

For all the "free" games (rentals to be honest), I have only played two of them. The other stuff I had already owned months before. You do get the odd game that bombed appearing pretty quickly, but those games bombed (Little Big Karting) for a reason.

Next moth is the first time I will actually be playing some stuff and looking forward to it at the same time. I avoided Spec Ops and Need for Speed Most Wanted. Two games I fancied playing but wasn't quite prepared to splash out cash for them.

If I owned a Vita I'd probably find a lot more value in it.

Well for 27 quid ( that's how much I managed to get subscription for ) I have a 500gb hard drive crammed with games that for the most part I had never played before. I also have a ps vita with half dozen games on it to which is great

It's not quite owning not quite renting but they, for the most part, are all quality games. Battlefield 3 for example is a great addition and same with saints row. Some may argue you could probably get these for under a tener but so what ps+ is confirmed for the ps4 to with drive club (lite) confirmed ( and by all accounts easily and cheaply upgraded to the full version )

As it stands I know 100% that up til the launch of the ps4 the only games ill be buying will be gta and batman. Ps+ will do me just fine

For those like me who can no longer warrant the spending on new titles and who don't have the luxury of being able to dedicate hours and hours to playing games each week it's the best thing to happen.

Ah I see, so loads of free old games and free games that didn't sell because they're shit is one of the best things to happen to gaming. Fuck me with a Nintendo Nunchuck if Sony don't know how to charm the market.

So battlefield 3, saints row 3, red dead redemption, little big planet 2, uncharted 3, burnout paradise, infamous 2 and many more and are shit old games ?

I did question why this place was less popular than in used to be and I'm guessing certain attitudes may be the reason.

Some of us don't have the luxury of running a once great review site and getting sent games for free. I think it represents fantastic value for money but hey what do I know. Im just a dyslexic idiot with no idea of the games industry.

Oh some of the games have been pretty good. But for me personally, with stuff like Red Dead, I'm not prepared to wait a year or so in the hope that it might finally appear on PSN for example.

It is a nice way of boosting your games library, but for someone like me, who lives alone and so gets lots of gaming free time, it isn't worth the wait. I'd rather just buy games I'm interested in - and for the most part they usually get discounted by a fair margin within a month or so.

It'll be interesting to see what happens with it on PS4. Apart from Driveclub, I can't imagine them giving away free titles for a fair while after it launches -or at least AAA stuff. It would cost them a fortune I would imagine. I wonder what they will do - maybe provide Indie titles instead?

It would have been much better if they had made the PS4 backwards compatible so at least you could carry on playing PS3 titles on it.

I don't know who's shat on your puppy AGAIN Duncan but perhaps you should have actually read my post before you jumped, once again, onto your bizarre "I don't play many games and don't get sent them free but seemingly buy EVERY new game and console and gadget that comes out" high horse. I don't post on here very often anymore because of just this sort of response from people like you who can't stand anyone disagreeing with their opinion without getting bitchy.

And FYI I said "old games and free games that didn't sell because they're shit" - there was a clear distinction there between old games that may have well been good and may well still be, and bad games that no one wants or ever really will - but there are always people who are happy to play any old crap as long as it's free.

Let's face it, you'd made up your mind already to take offence and stopped reading (or at least comprehending) as soon as you saw my name on a reply. Plus, and surely this is a valid point even for poor blokes like you who can no longer afford many games; why would most keen gamers be interested in even the good games on offer when they almost certainly played them at release? It has a niche appeal for most gamers and is a devisive naive-punter-placator tactic at best.

And then once again to round things off you chuck in a couple of thinly veiled insults and play your dyslexia card. Well cheers m8, at one time it was nice knowing you, I have no idea what crawled up your ass and died, and I'm sorry that me expressing my views on my forum has always upset you. Farewell.
