Guys, guys - come on! Not cool.

No idea where Juz is retro. I'll drop him a PM and make sure he is okay. He did add a pic on the book of faces not so long ago, so he hasn't disappeared competley!

And happy birthday dudes, we loves ya really :-)

I've not been around much - my father in law has been ill and passed away last Sat. Not been a great time andnive been looking after the misses of course.

And if I may say so, what a charming smashing blouse you've got on

Even looked on Craigs facebook page and can't see him there anymore. Is he ok does anyone know?

I'll skip what I've been playing on Xbox One (which as a console I'm much preferring over the PS4. Still can't get along with the PS4 pad as long as they keep with that stick layout :/)

Anyway, wanted to mention Killzone. Ended up buying it because there was absolutely nothing else that caught my eye on PS4 and it seemed to have the longest SP campaign out of the big three shooters.

And yeah, it looks fucking lovely in places. But fuck me it's hard. I mean, I'm not the best FPS player but this game is a bastard. In fact so much so I have had to restart the campaign and switch to easy (thanks for not including a difficulty option mid campaign you wankers!). But what can make it so brutal, is the game not making some things clear near the start of the game - but worst of all - psychic bad guys. The fucking worst thing to ever plague shooters. If I kill some bad guys and some more fly in via a drop ship, they should NOT know exactly where I'm crouched in an open level and all rush toward me.

As pretty as the game is to look at, it is no fun when simple gameplay choices by the devs ruin things. Once I'm done with this game I think the PS4 will gather dust for a while. Resogun leaves me cold, as do all games in that genre.

I haven't tried the free to play stuff yet, and maybe they will provide some entertainment. Who knows.

Lucy (now the wife) for me Ryse for Christmas, mainly as there was nothing I could really think of I wanted and always tradition to have a game or something

Anyway, despite the reviews it was a great deal of fun. A great deal of simplistic fun mind, but fun all the same., kind of if gladiator had been an 80s movie staring Arnie.

A six hour campaign never really got dull ( can chopping off hundreds of body parts get dull )
There are similarities to god of war and the batman games, but is far from as deep or as clever.

If you can rent / get cheap it's worth a pop
I completed it and swapped it for cod ghosts, far from impressed as always but as with fifa I get them every year and always let down

Also playing both battlefield 3 and 4
4 on the one and 3 on the 360 ( now located in bedroom so when Lucy watching HER programmes it can do some gaming, also mate does not yet have a one)

Not a huge amount of difference really between the two game play wise but the 64 players makes a HUGE difference, also love that recon can now throw the sensors (as with bad company) and use c4

I decided to pick up Beyond: Two Souls for the PS3 as a couple of places were doing it really cheap. As is usual with Quantic Dream games, it is a load of twaddle really. But man do they have some good looking locations and character models.

I'm a big fan of Ellen Page after seeing her in Hard Candy, so she was a big draw for me, and she plays her part well. You can tell she took it seriously, unlike a lot of actors who phone in their lines.

The game has its typical problems though, in that it really isn't a game. The interactive parts that having you seeminglly pressing random buttons, seem to be their only to make it feel like you have some kind of control. I wish he would just bite the bullet and make a CGI movie and be done with it. It would be much better than pressing R1 followed by L1 to step through an open window.

Thought it was MUCH better than Heavy Rain though.

Battlefield 4
LOTS of Battlefield 4

Despite being awful at it and being killed around 10 times more than I kill others I find it strangely addictive

Its also great for a game like this to allow people who die as much as me to still get in top quarter of score boards by contributing to the team (I love being an engineer in a helicopter, hanging out the side and repairing, and I LOVE when I pull out my RPG and score a lucky shot on a pursuing helicopter transport getting close to 1000 points !)

Still playing GT6 here. I don't have the necessary vocabulary to properly convey how much better it is than Forza 5.

Also started a second play through of GTA V despite wanting to hold on for the inevitable next gen ports. And despite me owning both new consoles, nothing has made me ooh and ahh like the sheer amount of detail that GTA V has.

I've grabbed Outlast on PSN now its free for the PS4 and will give that a whirl at some point as I do like my scary games.

Oh and while it was cheap I grabbed Binary Domain on the PC - for the grand total of £1.99! An utterly criminally underrated game that one. Such good fun to play....everyone should give it a try.

Also picked up Fable Anniversary on the 360. First off...FUCK YOU LIONHEAD!!!! No fucker gives an invert camera option - that's singular option - and applies it to both camera axis you fucking retards. Who thought that was a good fucking idea then? Wankers.

It's an appalling remake as well. I assumed they were using either the Fable 2 or 3 engines (they were both different I believe) but this has screen tearing and slow down all over the place. Just such poor quality. Thankfully I was given a load of MS points for next to nothing so it cost me the equivalent of something like £13.....but still.

Managed to fix the inverted camera issue by setting Y axis as my default on the Xbox Dashboard. But really, I shouldn't have to do such things these days. Camera options are piss easy to implement and should be in all games that need them.

Shame a few of us couldn't get together on the 360 and play some GTA V online. I'd love to do some of the races and missions with people who aren't total and utter cunts - obviously I'd have to give Diddly a pass in that regard :P

Lol.

I'd like to play GTA V online, but my membership long since expired and I ain't forking out on a console I've all but retired. I'll still need to go back and finish Far Cry 3 and a couple of others...but probs not GTA V....anyone heard anything even vaguely definite about Next Gen ETA for it?

I ventured online for the first time in over 4 years to try out the Titanfall beta and, despite getting killed with monotonous regularity, I really quite enjoyed it. The giant robots and free running do add something to what would otherwise be just a Call of Duty online clone. I think I might get the full game when it's released. Anyone Else?

I've been watching people play Titanfall on Twitch.tv. It is one of those games that I think looks really cool when I see other people play them. But I know I'd be shit at it myself.

I know there are a ton of A.I grunts to make you feel like you are getting a few kills in. But once the game is out and people get used to it, I'd be killed non-stop, I know it :(

Guacamelee on the PS Vita.

What a fantastic game. Real old skool 2d platformer come beat em up.

Nicely balanced as you gradually unlock more an more moves to defeat tougher and tougher bosses.

The best part is that when you die you feel its entirely your fault and must have one more go.

A read sense of achievement to beat it as its hard as nails towards the end.
Insert Coin.

I've been putting a lot of time Into South Park - Stick of Truth over the last few days. I'm a bit of a lapsed South Park fan: I really liked it in its early series but went off it later when they started relying more and more on gross out humour to mask poor ideas and weak scripts. So I'm surprised at just how much I am loving the game. It's the first game in ages that has had me fighting the tiredness to play it after Mrs Zai has gone to bed on work nights.

Howdie chaps, long time and all that :$

I'd like to say I've been gaming loads, alas I've reached that point where my son is now a 6-year-old games addict and monopolises the consoles.

Even though I've got a PS4 I'm barely getting a look in and he's been pumping hours and hours into The Lego Movie game which is as entertaining and annoying as the film. Really good voice acting though. We've also been working our way through Super Mario 3D World which is utterly brilliant

Strider is slick and fast and very reminiscent of Shadow Complex but the boss battles are completely unfair.
