Infamous 3 and Metal Gear are "In Transit" from Amazon so should be here this morning.

Shame I'm working from home today or I'd be all over them...

Well Infamous looks amazing to be honest. Having games in higher res makes all the difference when it's open world especially. As soon as I saw it running my thoughts immediately jumped to what GTA V may well look like if they get it on these machines - which they must surely be working on.

Only done the intro sequence so far. But it controls very nicely, and as I say...looks the bollocks. I just wish you could fade the HUD like you could in the last two games. My poor old plasma hates shit like that. Looking forward to really getting into this later.

Agreed, the first "next gen" game I've played that really made me go "wow" - my eyes already love this game. Am now looking forward to my birthday with great anticipation, for once. :D

Well despite the PS4 being the "better" console (its official, I said it and I was spot on about Love Actually ;)) I have mainly been playing on the Xbox, but thats more to do with fact trying to complete Dead Rising and enjoy a bit of Fifa, oh and Battlefield which despite me being shit at it I love

To be fair, I would probably have sold my Xbox One on had it not been for Battlefield and the fact im subscribed to Premium on it

I got Titanfall, I hate it. Its too much like COD for my liking, running round like headless chicken but with he added bonus of this chicken being able to run up walls.

Ive been playing Lego Marvel on the PS4 - great fun, its like every other Lego game and thats not always a bad thing, espescially for someone like me who does not play every single one

I downloaded Infamous last night

Firstly the download speeds on the PS4 are much better than they where (for me) on the PS3
I popped it on at half midnight, woke at half 8 and it was done (and my connection at best is 4.5mb)
Certainly seems "next gen" but only had 20 minutes on it. Certainly more next gen than Titanfall

Metal Gear is on route and I have also taken a punt on Final Fantasy X HD for the Vita

"cleared" one area and really enjoying Infamous

Its gorgeous, great lighting and just all looks so good. If you think what GTA IV looked like compared to GTA V it really makes you think just how good games will look in coming months and years

Plays well and I love the use of the controller speaker

The controller feels every bit as good (after my first extended play on PS4) as the Xbox One but the touchpad and speaker are much more welcome that Kinect

Did the first proper mission before. I do like how you can quickly get around to the roof tops etc. It isn't Crackdown levels of freedom I don't think, but it still feels pretty damned good.

Only slight disappointment is that the city doesn't look as though it will be quite as big as the last two games. I actually feel like the touchpad is tacked on to be honest. But so far I haven't thought it has done anything on the PS4 that buttons couldn't do to be honest.

Does anyone else feel like the lip synching is very slightly out? I don't mean badly done, I mean literally slightly out of sync?

edit: ok, what's the story with the drug busts? They seem to respawn as soon as you get a short distance away from them? I know they fill up the karma meter, but I assumed you'd eventually be clearing them all up?

Managed to get about 3 hours into Infamous at the weekend.

Visually it's an absolute knockout, especially once you unlock the second super-power. I love the way the weather and time changes for each new mission breathing new life into Seattle. The gameplay is a lot of fun but if I have one criticism it's that I never fully feel in control of Cole, especially when trying to travel at speed. Maybe it'll improve with new powers but it can be a bit frustrating, especially on missions where you're chasing someone.

Also put a good hour into Metal Gear Solid 5 Prologue. Another visual feast, in particular the lighting which really heightens the need to sneak about. I love the fact it's open world, letting you tackle the objective from any direction. The guards are as intelligent as they are stupid though. They react really well to suspicious activity, but get outfoxed by you hiding behind boxes ^o)

Am yet to get the Neon power....am a bit worried that I've already nearly 100%'d the unlocked part of the city already though!

Ok, going to be honest and say that infamous is getting a little repetitive now. The missions are too samey and its descending into basically kill the soldiers and not much more. Going to stick with it but not getting the same enjoyment I got from infamous 2.

I kind of agree - and I REALLY thought that the previous 2 had a real atmosphere to them; a certain uniqueness...this seems to be lacking it a bit.

GTAV in HD please!

Been plodding away at infamous and have finally completed the first island so have moved on to the next one. Which is quite a bit smaller sadly. And of course feels like more of the same. Only really continuing because it looks nice and cost a lot of money!

Wolfie - New Order

Brilliant, proper old-school Nazi-killing. I fucking LOVE killing Nazis! Smooth as butter, too.

Watch Dogs

Only played about 3 hours worth - I think it's great despite its flaws. Woulda been lovely to see this in 1080p/60, but I guess you can't have everything. Despite it only being 30fps, it's a really SMOOTH 30fps.

The money system is definitely busted - you can literally make £000's just by mugging passers-by.
