Loved Far Cry 4, but pissed off that I got the super deluxe version with the season pass. The Escape from Prison DLC is absolute fucking timed nonsense shite and it will never get played by me ![]() Still plodding away at Dragon Age. 100 hours plus now and still loving it. Also loving The Crew as well. I am still blown away by just how huge and detailed the world is. And hello Tel by way of apology for being absent for so long, get started on a GT7 countdown timer

The reason I'm not getting into Far Cry 4 is. I got my PS4 and played and finished Assassins Creed Black Flag Then I played and finished Watchdogs, same game mechanic, climb up high, open up the map and collect shit Now I'm playing Far Cry 4 and its the same stuff over again... damn you Ubisoft |

Just finished the second and third Army of Two games on the 360. Trashy nonsense byt quite enjoyed them to be honest. Think they cost something like 4 quid each in a sale so can't complain really ![]() Still playing Dragon Age. Getting toward the final mission now and don't want it to end. Then it's on with Wolfenstein that I picked up cheap a while ago. So what are you fuckers playing then eh? |

I'm still playing GTA V. Need to go back to Ass Creed Unity and the Metros. I fucking hated Dragon Age; just felt so fucking draaaaaaaaggy in every sense. All felt clunky as fuck and the voice acting and character models felt like watching an animatronic Primary School play. Errr...but I'm glad you're enjoying it, dude! ![]() |

I'm playing Resident Evil Revelations 2. Completed all three episodes to date and fourth on goes live tomorrow I think. So far so Resident Evil. Graphics are so so but it runs at a constant 60fps, so it's easy on the eye. Don't mind the episodic approach. I can only do a few hours a week, so has worked out well for me. Can see how waiting for retail would appeal to most. If you like Resident Evil - tuck in. If not, avoid. Nothing new to see here. Started Majoras Mask. It's Zelda. Hammered it for 8-9 hours and inexplicably, haven't picked up my 3DS XL since. Roll on Bloodborne. Divorce imminent with the time I'll be investing in that! |

Traded in Far Cry 4 + Metro and got GTA V instead. Happy to play it all over again on a PS4 that doesn't have a fan like a jumbo jet engine. |

Are you playing this online Tel? Juz, Zai and I have dabbled. In fact Juz and I did the first online Heist tonight which after a lot of initial faff, was quite good. The first one is 2 player but the second is 4 player. Be cool if Zai, Juz, you and I (or anyone else on here with a PS4 ... Sorry retro ) could do a heist or two.

I *knew* that was coming lol! Yeah - I did love Skyrim, and it did have proper dodginess, but it still seemed like better acting than Dragon Age. Dragon Age felt like proper amateur hour to me...and I REALLY tried to like that game after all the Game Of The Year's and stuff. I'm actually envious that you liked it. |

I got suckered in by the hype and bought Bloodborne. I'd never played Demon Souls or Dark Souls as I'm a gaming pussy and knew I'd get frustrated at the difficulty. So Bloodborne is a lovely looking game (with a shitty framerate), and while it is difficult, the endless replaying of the same level and respawning enemies just seems lazy to me. Do people really think this is some kind of genius game design? As far as I can tell, it's a very basic grind mechanic where you farm the area for easy points, building up your XP ready to take on the boss. Kinda like Dead Rising but without the unpredictability. I'm not sure exactly what I expected, but given the rave reviews I guess it was something more than this. Gutted I bought it on PSN as I doubt I'll put in the necessary hours needed to actually see more of the game. |

You summed it up perfectly for me - I even fell for the hype like you (or rather my missus did for my birthday). I found it frustrating, and it just felt like a C64 game to me (ie constant resetting). Now...wait for Indie to weigh in with his frankly gay obsessional love for this shit! Paging Indiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiie. |

Heretics! How dare you suggest a FromSoftware game isn’t all that. Didn’t you know that if you don’t like these games you can’t be a proper gamer! In all seriousness though, I can see you point; they are marmite games. Bloodborne reminds me very much of Demon Souls; not just the fact Bloodborne is more its spiritual successor that Dark Souls, but the difficulty curve is very similar – for me at least. When I first played Demon Souls, it was pre Dark Souls and all the hype. Consequently I didn’t know what to expect and it took me a long time to figure out why I was so crap and why it was so hard, until the ‘mechanic’ clicked with me. There wasn’t any wiki’s or many game guides then. You just had to figure it out on your own. The gameplay was similar in Dark Souls, though there wasn’t that steep learning curve as had figured it out in Demon Souls. Even less so in Dark Souls 2. But as you say Blakey – the approach is no different from the grind in a lot of other games. The ‘mechanic’ in Bloodborne still hasn’t clicked for me yet and I’m worried that it won’t. I’ve never been a strong in evade, roll, back step, parry type games and in DMC and other games of that type, I’ve found uncoordinated button mashing to be as effective (within reason). That won’t work this time. So I’m keeping my fingers crossed it’ll click. The allure with the three Souls games and I guess Bloodborne too, is the achievement of grinding out and beating an area/boss. All three previous games have been the same for me, mechanic aside, the first couple of levels are tough and there is an obscene amount of replaying the same area. As I said to Juz last night, I felt like I was playing a £45 demo. But once you have a few key items, some better attire, levelled up a bit and honed the gameplay mechanic, you start to motor through the rest of the game. But to a degree, without that initial apprenticeship, progressing further is impossible. That said I nearly rage quit last night, so I had to take a break and unwind! Also the atmosphere and lore in these games is a huge appeal, especially in Demon and Dark Souls, less so Dark Souls 2 – for me anyway. I like that it’s not heavy on pushing narrative and that you can find out more but interacting with the world itself and NPC’s (i.e. notes on an item, shield, sword etc). I will persevere and I know I will be rewarded for it. I suck at games generally, so I might as well suck in a game world that appeals to me. But I’m not so precious about it that I can't see why people would think these games are over rated. They just happen to be my favorite games of the last console generation. And anything that Juz says to the contrary is nonsense! Edited by Indie, Mar 31 2015, 09:43 AM.

...in bed. Whereas, I had a FUCKING AWESOME time, cruising around Los Santos in first person view on a custom motorbike, listening to all the songs from Emotion 98.3 (GTA:VC), thanks to Spotify. It really highlights just how shit the music selection is on GTAV, and how much a really brilliant soundtrack massively improves an already awesome experience. I can't even get a trade in price for my copy of Bloodborne on Amazon yet... |

I must try that actually. I installed the Spotify app yesterday - how did you play the music in GTA? I'm going to try and use the pistol in Bloodborne to nail the parry move. I have a feeling that'll be the turning point for me, in terms of progressing! |
