It really highlights just how shit the music selection is on GTAV, and how much a really brilliant soundtrack massively improves an already awesome experience.
I must try that actually. I installed the Spotify app yesterday - how did you play the music in GTA?

I'm going to try and use the pistol in Bloodborne to nail the parry move. I have a feeling that'll be the turning point for me, in terms of progressing!
At the moment it's a bit clunky; you need to start Spotify app and then select your playlist and start playing it, then go into the game - just turn the radio off.

If you wanna skip songs, then pressing the PS button now has Spotify at the top where you can skip/go back/adjust volume, but if you wanna change the playlist, then you have to shut down GTA...I guess this will change...or you just make sure you have a massive playlist.

Played Bloodborne a bit more last night and I sort of see why people get so addicted to it. Gradually upgrading your character's stats does inspire that "one more go" feeling, but I just really begrudge spending 5+ hours replaying a single section of the game. Time is precious, so I get at best an hours gaming per night. That's an hour playing the same section three or four times, meh!

At the very least I can say I've given this type of game a shot. See also, Monster Hunter.

Well I had a bit of a breakthrough with Bloodborne tonight, mastering (or trying to) the pistol parry has paid dividends. Managed to kill the first boss (Cleric Demon) and a mini-boss down in the sewers (giant pig/boar thingy). Also have come tantalising close to beating the second boss as well but could quite do it tonight.

EDIT - Indie plays Bloodborne - Pistol Parry

Picked up Bloodborne but have yet to seriously play it. It felt odd control wise to me. Can't quite explain what felt off about it, but I expected it to feel like Dark Souls but it doesn't.

Finished Resident Evil Revelations 2 and really enjoyed it,. It felt like a good mix of classic Resi and Resi 4. It was nice playing a game at 60fps for a change.

Has anyone been playing the single player of Battlefield Hardline? Quite fancy it, but tempted to wait for a price drop.

@Indie - that video actually makes it look fairly pedestrian and enjoyable. My experience of it was overly frantic and eminently frustrating.

@Retro - nope, I haven't tried Battlefield at all other than the Beta test. Supposed to have a decent SP isn't it?

Yeah those guys don't agro too much but hit hard if the connect so looks relatively sedate. I couldn't manage the Ogres in the first area of Yarnhan but with the parry you can one hit kill them after a couple of character and weapon level ups. I will post a couple more videos ... mostly because I can!

Retro, I really enjoyed Resi Revelations 2 ... too. Cheese-o-rama but it doesn't pretend to be anything else. I did it episodically which worked well for me as I didn't have more that 3-4 hours a week to play it. So was perfect pacing for me! And yeah, lovely silky 60fps looked nice as well!

Hang on, didn't think you had a PS4 mate?

Yeah I have a PS4 but as with the PS3 it mainly sits doing nothing. Despite most people I know saying they were switching to PS4 this gen, I have found that most of my xbox owning friends seem to have stuck with MS this gen.

Does Resident Evil Revelations 2 work as a single player only game ?

I was going to take a punt on Bloodborne but have, instead, decided to sell the PS4 and the 6 games I have and buy another Xbox One for the bedroom

Since baby game along, downstairs gaming time has been beaten by Mr Tumble,

Exactly what I did mate. Great single player game, but equally good as multiplayer. The controls to swap between the characters is pretty good and one doesn't hinder or hold the active character back. If that makes sense.

In short, yes works very well as a single play IMHO.

Played and gave up on Bloodborne. Gave it a good go but it didn't click with me one bit. Still, fair play to everyone that 'gets it' it just wasn't for me.

I've also been clearing up a few single-player trophies on GTA V I'd missed and working through Resident Evil HD and Revelations. I've also been playing a lot of the Telltale stuff. Not bad to say time is precious these days.

Yeah just to echo that sentiment, Resi Revelations 2 works fine single player. In fact I preferred playing as the "secondary" character looking for hidden items, and the benefit of the A.I character not depleting ammo when using weapons.

There is a lenghty game there as well for the money. What surprised me most is that for a fairly small file size, the raid maps so far have all been from Resi 6. Don't know how they fit all that content in.

What did you think of Resi HD? I really enjoyed it, great old school stuff - and surprising how small the game is! Padded out by lots of back tracking. I guess all those long door loading screens must have made it seem longer than I remember it.

Totally agree on the use of the second character Retro, using the torch etc to find and highlight items. I like that the main character had to rely on the torch from the other character etc. Was a nice dynamic. And for £20, yes, its a shit load of content! Especially with those Raid maps.

I am fucking loving Bloodborne. I'm only in Old Yarnham (an optional area) but its bloody amazing. I have the repeater pistol and some really cool trick RH weapons. Around level 32-33 now and able to hold my own against pretty much anything on these early levels. But still hard as being aggrod by lots of enemies grouping up on me is still a challenge despite having levelled up and have most of my weapons buffed at around +3. Long, long way to go yet. This game is massive and once I've only just opened access to the Chalice Dungeons! Only a From Software game would make it so obtuse to access this content. 10+ hours in and needing several items to enable dungeon creation - and it isn't spelt out at all how to do it!

EDIT - yeah and after 10+ hours not even a sniff of a trophy!
