Just wrote a long post about how I was enjoying Mario Strikers Charged Football on Wii and had just finished R:FOM but my fucking internet connection went down AGAIN and I lost it. I can't be bothered to write it again but suffice to say I have enjoyed both these games.

Tomb Raider: Legend.

Picked it up cheapo, and really enjoying it. My fun has been augmented by using a guide to find all the rewards - it's become like a big treasure hunt.

Knights of the Old Republic

Since there's been sod-all i've wanted to play on the XHot, i found this and KotOR 2 for about a tenner each. Certainly a bit aged now, but fun and involving. Will be interesting to see how this compares to the next round of RPGs-ish games (BioShock, Mass Effect, etc)

Warhawk (beta)

Surprisingly good fun. Graphics a bit crude, clouds are lovely though, and a definite overtone of Battlefield (if thats the right game?). Could turn out to be a surprisingly good offering for the PS3.

Been hearing quite a lot of positive buzz for Warhawk and although I was a bit miffed they decided to make it solely multiplayer I might be tempted if it continues to bring in the accolades.

Sounds like a really enjoyable pick up and play multiplayer combat experience from what i hear.

I assume you're playing on the American beta. I've been accepted on to the European beta, which was supposed to start today but, of course, there's no sign of the download in the shop.

Think Sony have forgot the UK store

Even the Spiderman 3 movie demo seems to only be in SD - whats that about ?

On the same note I have been playing Spiderman 3 on the 360 - its bloody good. Possibly the best interpration of a comic book hero in a video game yet. The powers all work brilliantly and thep use of them quick time things really help push the game along

I've got the collector's edition of the game on PS3, but I haven't opened it yet because Game dropped the price by a fiver on launch day, so I'm taking my preorder copy back and reordering at the lower price. It's the principle - Game had the exclusive on this and took advantage by overcharging preorder customers.

At last, the European beta is up - just downloading it now. I also seem to have inadvertantly got myself on to the Home beta trial. The file for that was also waiting for me when I logged in this morning. I wonder if it will work when I try to use it?! :)

It should, apparently if you were an official PS2 (yes two) beta tester then you get the options of various PS3 ones too. Wish i had got on now... :(

Yup, it is just for PS2 beta testers. The Home beta is a public beta and you can register an interest on some website or other, but they're not looking for new peeps at the moment. It seems I only got in because I was a beta tester in the past.

Pirates of the Caribbean

I knew this game had got bad scores but as there's sod all out at the moment I thought I'd give it a whirl with GameFlirt.

Visually this game is lovely. I kept thinking, if they made a Monkey Island game (which has always been similiar to POTC) with this engine they could do something spectacular. The water looks like water and the character models and behaviour are pretty much spot on despite some dodgy sound-alike (I think) dialogue in places.

The gameplay is basic at best. Animation is crude and repeated MANY times over the course of the game, particularly with the sword fighting sections which take up the bulk of the game.

To sum up - Looks great, plays poorly.
