Halo 2

Yeah, I know. It's been a slow couple of weeks game wise. Anyway, thought I'd give it another run through and try and understand wtf was going on before Halo 3 appears. After initially thinking that the game doesn't stack up too well any more I really started getting into it again. Not up to fighting the shit loads of brutes yet, which I remember really pissed me off when I first played the game.

Trauma Center on the way.

Good luck with that. I'm playing the Wii version and am struggling to get above grade C for the ops even on easy. The DS version's meant to be teeth-gnashingly hard - harder than the Wii version! :o

I got the DS version and its not as good as it could have been.

I was hoping for a computerised version of operation but its more like a manga storyline cheese fest with rather dull operating duties against the clock.

Not gory and tactile enough for this mad surgeon....

World in Conflict demo

A really great RTS that not only plays really well and looks great, it also has an original setting(apart from Defcon, but that does not count) of a period of history I actually remember and they seem to have got the feel right aswell.

I think anyone who liked Company of Heroes, will also enjoy this.

Now where is my copy of Red Dawn.

I have a confession to make...

My name is David, and I've been playing the Medal of Honor Airborne demo - 3 TIMES in fact.

I really enjoyed it, I'm sorry, maybe with the support of my family and my friends here I can get over it. Thank you for listening. Oh the shame of it....

It's sitting there on the HDD along with Tiggy Woods 08. Played Skate and didn't mind it too much but skateboarding games ain't my thing. Also played that Wings Of Fury or Planes Of Death or whatever the fuck it's called...oh yeah Blazing Angels...not too interesting.

Playing Bioshock seems to be occupying all my time though - haven't got round to playing The Darkness that Zed kindly loaned me either

You should have play it first, any story-orientated FPS is going to look a bit poor now... just remember to enjoy it for what it is; ignore the guns and go mad with your dark powers!

I've been busy studying all week for my UK Naturalisation test, passed it yesterday, so its gaming time again :ph43r: Warhawk is out soon, Bioshock now, and a mass of games lining up before crimbo.

Bioshock

Brilliant. I almost gave this one a miss too, so glad I didn't.

Toonstruck

Managed to get this running with DOSbox. The sound is a little stuttery but it plays ok. If you've never played this (and can get hold of a copy) its well worth a punt. As well as Christopher Lloyd in the lead there's a great voice cast along with a fitting soundtrack and to top it off it's very, very funny!

Ah, Toonstruck - one of my all time favourites. I believe that at the time it was the most expensive game ever made (basically due to Lloyd's salary and the process of putting him into the game) and it all but killed off Virgin Interactive. It was worth it for those of us that bought a copy.

Yeah I can see that being the case. It's all very well done and correct me if I'm wrong isn't Flux voiced by one of the principal cast of The Simpsons?

I think the developers had plenty of unused footage that they planned to use in the sequel but as the game was such a commercial flop they never got to use it.

There's a few scenes with Van Gough and a section in the wild west from what I've seen dotted on the net.

Dan Castellaneta (the voice of Homer J) is in it.

Also Tim Curry and *ahem* Dom DeLuise. Big budget stuff for a game 11 years ago.

"The game was cut in half from its original size just a few months from beta, and we were promised at that time that we would be able to use all our work for a sequel. That never happened and some of the scenes I show here cannot be found in the game."

Can someone do a Bioshock review? No idea why we haven't had review code as Take 2 send us everything else.
