Can you "steer" with the dual shock's motion control then? It was poor in Motorstorm, but if you could hold it like a steering wheel might be interesting. |

Prey Can't afford to buy any 360 games so it's time to borrow whatever mates have lying around! I rather enjoyed it and it's the first game I've finished in ages... granted not being able to actually die helped with that but regardless it did feel pretty easy and I can definitely count on my fingers the amount of times I 'died'. Loved the scale of some of the rooms/areas, gave a lot of the puzzles a bit of an epic feel, although my favourite one was the claustrophobic maze complete with the spatial anomaly. Weapons a bit on the limited side and apart from the leech gun with sun ammo nothing really packed a satisfying punch but the organic designs were lovely. Next up is either Perfect Dark Zero or Call of Duty 3 Which of these average scoring FPS's will I hate less? |

No, you can't. The controller on PS3 is just called SIXAXIS so I was referring to that as a controller instead of the monumentally shite motion sensor stuff |

DS round up- Sega Touch Darts - Brilliant. Perfect game for the DS, perfect hand held game full stop. It just plays darts. Really well. With a good throwing system for the stylus. Nuff said. Drawn to Life- Qurky and disgustingly cute and twee. You are god and you can draw certain things like characters and platforms etc that get used in the game world. The fun naturally comes from drawing a penis or some tits as a platform to jump on. Should have given you more creativity such as the ability to design every object and landscape in the game world and a more sim city/world building and destroying aspect. Essentially its just a platformer. Elite Beat Agents- Good fun but not as good as I was expecting. Some decent tunes and an oddball style but its a bit too simplistic for me. Lost in Blue 2- More 'stranded on a desert island with a girl' shenanigans. Alas there is no sex and not much to do but its strangely alluring. Collecting mushrooms and coconuts and making fire is boring. Finding water is boring. Making a pack up so you can explore further afield is boring. And yet..... thats what being stranded on an island is like and I want to know if I can survive better than Tom Hanks. |

Zelda - Phantom Hour Glass: DS Only just fired it up for an hour or so, but so far so good. Classis Zelda, which is of course a very good thing. The stylus control works very well, but (and I don't know if this will improve as I get used to it) I am right handed and when I drag the stylus left to go left my hand blocks the view of the screen! Being able to make notes on the map is just genius! And they've integrated the need to make use of this in the game itself, so it's not just a gimmick. So far so good, can finally remove Advance Wars from my DS and enjoy a geniune 5 star game on it! |

Crysis Demo Wonderful graphics and physics engine, with nice touches like oil leaking out of barrels when shot, tyres and fuel tanks exploding on vehicles and trees falling down when shot. The actual game though is no different to play really than Farcry and makes it feel more like an extended tech demo. After playing HL2 it was also quite jarring when borders apeared top and bottom of the screen while it stopped for a cut scene and took control away from the player. Timeshift demo Average FPS with a time control gimmick. Looks good though. |

I really enjoyed the demo and, from the review on Gamer TV, it seems the game has some good puzzles and some interesting multiplayer games using the time gimmick. Another might buy for me. |

360 - Mass Effect - absolutely love it. Wii - Super Mario Galaxy - amazing game. DS - was playing Zelda Phantom Hourglass, but whoever thought repeating one dungeon over and over was a good idea needs raping up the ass. So given up on it PS3 - bugger all, but hey, that's because there is bugger all worth playing on it PSP - FF8 - started playing the FF's again starting with 7 onwards. |

Kane & Lynch Been playing the 360 version of this and granted it is a tad 'broken' but up until Havana I've had a great time. The two lead characters are genuinely entertaining and far more interesting then most. Lots of sweary dialogue for the teenager in you. Playing the game is a little different. The cover system doesn't quite work and the controls can be a little fiddly - especially when dealing with squad commands. It could've been much slicker. It certainly doesn't push the 360 visually but the obvious film references are nice touches. I particularly liked the Tokyo shoot out - very exciting. It's certainly not the pile of poo many have claimed it to be but it doesn't deserve any more then a 6 / 7 in my opinion. I hope they do a sequel because with all the niggles spoiling an otherwise interesting premise, it is crying out for one. |

Super Paper Mario My Wii's been getting almost all my gaming time lately and it's because of this game. It really fits my gaming pattern just at the moment (the odd half hour here and there between meeting baby's demands) as each level only takes about 30-40 mins to complete. It's a mix of 2D platformer (with a 3D twist) and point-and-click adventure with a bit of basic levelling up and character swapping thrown in. The Wii controller aspects are not overdone - for most of the game you hold it on its side and use the D-pad like an old style joypad. For a change, the boss battles are actually enjoyable too. My only complaints are that, despite the variety of levels, it can get a bit samey, and the story isn't that great - the quest for the hearts is just an excuse to have levels of different terrains with one of the villain's minions as an end of level boss. Still, really enjoying it overall, which is a surprise because I've never been mad for Mario games. |

I too am playing K&L or I should say trying to I can find nothing good about it at all and the whole thing is a big disapointment. Maybe it is down to just how well Uncharted and GOW have done the whole cover thing or just the fact that K&L feels like an unfinished Xbox game The cover system is beyond broken The shoot outs awful - there is one early section which has you shooting at persuing Police cars - it seems no matter how much you should them they only blow up when the game decides they should (be it you have shot them 100 times or 1) The graphics are awful - the closest game I could compare the whole thing to at moment is Driver 3 but without any of its redeaming features |

Oh my deity(s) has it been a busy couple of months. - Mass Effect; not as progressive as it thinks, but ignore the flaws and its a fantastic game. Still not sure if it's my 360 Game of the Year, but right up there. - Assassin's Creed; an even more flawed-genius work, some stuff is excellent, others shit. Worth renting if only to see what GTA/RPG cities should look like. - Ratchet & Clank; very polished R&C game, loved every minute, but needed more ideas and an online mode. Sometimes i think i'm one of the few that played the PS2's online R&C games, but was actually fun IMO. - Drakes Fortune; enjoying it alot. More thoughts when i finish. Funniest thing so far is when i delved into the Extra's and looked at the Filters, there's Black & White, Sepia and "Next-Gen". When you turn it on it has all the glowing/bloomy lighting, monochrome washout and other gubbins too many games think they need now. Give a half-squit at Drake and imagine he's in bodyarmour, and some locations wouldnt look out of place in Gears of War. Methinks someone at Naughty Dog is having a pisstake at Epic  And flicking it on/off makes you realise the "Next-gen" filters devs put on games IS ridiculous at times - nice one! |
