Just how light are the puzzles? Are we talking a Portal-style learning curve or Lucas-arts style brainscratching.

I think I must have been away the day they were handing out logic

It does a good job of teaching and has a nice basic first level so yeah i guess its more like portal.

It's a very clever game and i haven't yet been totally stumpped

Had a bit of whoop-ass online racing today and someone ate my dust.  Much better feeling than my initial online foray... seeing my opponents disappear round first corner was the last I saw of em.

If you need a confidence boost, just invite me along for a game of anything!

I bite at racing games, Gran Turismo 5 is again showing up how shit i am... It's also making me ponder if i should bother getting Burnout: Rehashed, for precisely the same as Telecoda's reason, i'm smashing into walls, while they scamper off; in Motorstorm i wouldnt make the line before the 30 second timer either.

<sigh>

@Zai: yeah hit me up for judging-Eye sometime, i got a few boosters, but havent played much. Enough to know the rules, but i am essentially still a newbie.

Call of Doody 4

OK, so I'm a cheapskate, and it's taken me this long to blag it off a mate. I haven't finished it yet due to baby-mungousness, but I can safely say that thus far it is:

The Bestest-Looking And Feeling FPS Evah!!!!

Look - I dunno whether 60fps makes an average-looking game suddenly fantastic-feeling, or whether this was already a fantastic-looking and feeling game, but this is frankly fucking astonishing. I can't pin down exactly why (can you ever? In any form of entertainment which REALLY clicks with you?) this fucking rocks out with its cock out in the biggest possible way; this feels (genuinely) like being in the middle of a high-budget war film (much like CoD2 did, too).

I will finish soon, I imagine, and then I will lament its brevity, but Infinity Ward have shown those muppets at Treyarch just HOW to make a CoD game.

Breathtaking.

Welcome to 2007 Juz :P ;)

Seriously, it is good isn't it? Sniper level is definetly the best one.
While it may be a bit short, I would much rather play a shit hot short game than a shit long game.

On Youtube there is clip from a real Specter gunship in Afghanistan and it must be what IW based that level on as it has all the same vocal cues i.e. "we are not authorised to hit the mosque(church in game)" "we have vehicles moving" etc it is a bit gruelling though as it is real people being shot and killed. :(

Just started playing this myself. Xbox back up and running after new motherboard, DVD drive and HDD. Just finished the spectaular Halo 3 which is spectaculary short. Feck me I finished that in 3 sittings! Any hoo just unwrapped Call of Duty 3 last night and it is a bit good!

Shame I can't stop seeing that prick Craig Fairbrass everytime Gaz speaks!

Otherwise it's very good darts indeed!

Oh yeah, the SAS Cap'in! Wasn't he supposed to be one of The Krays mates? But hey, in the 1960's around Bethnal Green and the East End who wasn't eh! Every Fucker seems to cashed in on the twins, the scally's.

COD4 is top draw though! In addition to COD4 (which I have just started), this week I have mostly been playing ...

Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition
Showing it's age a bit, but I loooove this game. It's just spot on in every dept. Shame about the missions where you have to escort the rather irritating Ashley around ... even if she does wear a short skirt and boots, snigger ... saucy.

Super Mario Galaxy
Sublime! A paultry 25 stars so far.

Guitar Hero 3
Great fun and will crack on with this after COD4. Rawked out with Jocky online a few nights a go and was a good crack! Better online than I thought it would be.

Halo 3
Finished the solo campaign in what seemed like a blink of an eye, which was a bit gutting. Don't get me wrong, while it lasted it was brilliant. Even if it was only more of the same, albeit with better graphics. The whole franchise hasn't moved on at all, but I guess if it ain't broke. No intention of going online, having been out for ages and just played it, I'd be raped within seconds online I'm sure.

I still hold the belief that the campaign was designed around co-op, and you need to crank up the difficulty to get the best out of the game - the AI is sooo much better as you do, and it's not just artificially lengthening the game.

Finished Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition yesterday. It's simply fan-fucking-tastic! Best Resident Evil game by a country mile and embarrases other survial horror games!

It's so slick and polished - paced superbly, lovely (if not slightly showing their age) graphics, great sound. And what's more it takes more than 5 mins to complete - unlike a lot of games these days. Showing a game can be brilliant and have plenty game play (>20 hours). No excuses for saying its okay to be short becuase its so good!

Any hoo - 10 /10, A+, 5 *'s - It's the dogs danglies!

I find it much easier just to walk into my local games shop and steal any games I want.
I do not see why I should pay and hope people will not pay me for what I produce in my job.

/sarcasm
