Yeah - to be honest, I'm surprised they haven't booted me out because I'm not very good at making the test nights - either because I'm too knackered after Junior's gone to bed, or I just get bored of shooting/being killed by people I don't know and who don't talk.

You should keep an eye on the Playstation website because they do occasionally recruit for trialists - either for individual games or the whole programme.

Anyway, what can I say about Killzone 2 (online)? It may not look as good as the pre-rendered videos from E3 of years ago, but dang is it a good looking game (if rather grey and brown). The sound is awesome too. Pitched battles look and sound like pitched battles, with loads of explosions and flying masonry. There's a good range of game modes too, and a good system for moving between game types and voting for maps. I'm not sure if what I've seen so far is enough to make me buy it - you don't get to see the single player on the beta - but I'm more impressed with this than I was with Resistance 2 (which was good too), SOCOM (which was very disappointing) and some of the 360 shooters I've played online.

I got the LBP beta through eurogamer, its a great game, was up late last night building things with my bro, top stuff

I've only played through a couple of the tutorial levels but already my scepticism has melted away and I've decided to get LBP. The little sack person rules. The voiceover by Stephen Fry is cool too.

I guess now that the PS3 exclusives are nearly upon us, no-one's going to fancy swapping my 360 for their PS3 then! Don't go online as much as I thought (well, after reaching the top rank in Battlefield) and really loved the Motorstorm 2 demo :(

Star Wars The Force Unleashed

Well it's on rails and in terms of game play has as much depth as a puddle. But it's Star Wars and looks amazing. And in lieu of Dead Space, Tomb Raider Underworld, COD and GOW2 it's filling a gap.

Not recommended unless you have bugger all else to do. Plus the story was supposed to be brilliant, but thus far it seems pretty lame to me.

Did anyone pick up Midnight Club LA? There was some talk of it a while back and apparently it's out now. Must've had £2 to spend on marketing because I heard nothing.

Its TV ad was on several times last night, and we've been promised it on 360 and PSP, but I'm gonna have first dibs on the 360 version this time.
Subtitles are available on Teletext page 888

Speaking of TV ads: I saw one for Dead Space and one for Fallout 3 last night.

Fable 2 and Dead Space.

I saw Dunkle posted on AVF about Fable 2, i do encourage you to try out some other spells, especially Time Control in slot 1 - as the slow down time is handy for breathing space, as is the teleport behind people or using it to run away.

Dead Space is great, just need to keep a ready supply of clean undies nearby...

I've put about 3 or 4 hours into Fable 2, and (as always, unfortunately) am finding that whole "Fairy Tale" kinda world to be unappealing on an almost molecular level.

Try as a might, I just cannot get on with games set in this kinda universe, and it really SHOULD appeal, but it just doesn't and I think it kinda colours the whole thing for me; I think it's why I found Oblivion such a snorefest.

So for I haven't seen or done anything which makes me think that this is anywhere NEAR the 9/10 / 10/10 game that the reviews would have me believe - what is it that I'm missing here? I'm certainly finding the (relative) lack of interaction with the world (in terms of actual physics) to be really off-putting after playing GTA IV and Mercs 2 for so long - I know they ain't the same kinda games, but still..

What am I missing? Some part of the brain that likes Olde Worlde stuff?
