Hmmmmn....but you wanna know what really hit me about this, after the truly fucking immersive and fuckaroundable environments of RFG - absolutely NOTHING in the Batman demo is interactive! You can throw punches or a Batarang at a chair and it does NOTHING. Even fire extinguishers do nothing, glass doesn't break etc. etc. Even if I hadn't just played RF:G then this woulda seemed bordering on odd - your opinion? |

I thought it was okay, looks great and as Bon says the combat is quite satisfying! However, it really felt linear and whilst it was just a demo I have no reason to suspect the game will be much different. |

Yeah, it does seem odd that in a game with lots of fighting and excellent ragdolly FX that not so much as a chair gets smashed. Having said that there are more than a few games that have allowed you to pick up EVERYTHING and its sister and use them as weapons, and it didn't make them any good. But it's plain wEiRd that the plentiful fire extinguishers - which have traditionally become makeshift boobytraps/remote mines in action games - are only there for show. Probably something to do with health and safety? It does look really nice though, and the way that the batarang/hanging/stealth grab thing have been done is seamlessly slick. Being able to leave bad guys hanging and finish them off when you want, or just leave them dangling is very Batman. I also like the way that when pulling a grate off of one duct the nut comes poinging toward the camera. A nice, cinematic touch. |

I played the demo last night and while it was a pleasant enough diversion, there's nothing there that would warrant a purchase. It looks nice enough, and I liked the visual effect when you're stalking your prey and swooping down from the rafters. The gameplay felt a little clunky to me and I wasn't much of a fan of the over the shoulder view which obscured much of your visibility in corridors. I know this game is getting good previews, but I think that's more to do with the game drought we always go through at this time of the year. Personally I was hoping for a Dark Knight or Batman Begins game that really delivers on the atmosphere and aesthetic of the movies. Guess I'll keep on waiting

After being bombarded with friends' messages about Shadow Complex (Xbox 360) and enjoying the demo (after being less than impressed by the way it starts) I decided I had to buy it, and don't regret a thing. Pleasant memories of Impossible Mission, Batman, Another World, Flashback, and the first couple of Oddworld games (the good, 2-D ones) come rushing back when playing this. There are plenty of original touches in terms of weapons and puzzles too, and despite some reservations about the speed of movement and aiming it's a great blast, and one that you can lose hours and hours in just exploring. Red Faction Guerrilla: Demons of the Badlands (DLC) - It's good to be back in this year's most compelling game world, even if I hadn't been away that long. You play as Samanya when she was still a Marauder in a prequel to the events of RFG. More shooting, mad amounts of blasting and lots of driving (some cool new Marauder vehicles) and you seem to get hold of the good stuff a lot quicker than before. More 'demolitions masters' and vehicle delivery jobs, all set in what I suspect is that smallish area you could see but not get to south west of the main map in RFG. Wet (Xbox 360 demo) - Plays better than its over-stylized looks imply, it's Mad Max and The Matrix meets Kill Bill and they go off down the shops with Bloodrayne. Good fun, but a whole game of this?

Grand Theft Auto 4 some of you may have seen in another thread that I mentioned I had gone back to GTA4.... I completed it this morning and I cannot believe how good that game is. Seriously.... its got to be the best game made to date, for the shear size, the amount of things you can do, the freeness, aswell as the missions it has. Thought the last mission was a corker, even though it did take me 12 goes to do the bastard thing!! I imagine Sony must be absolutely sick that microsoft have go the rights to the expansion packs - the Ballad of Gay Tony is out soon and the trailor for it looks quality. has anyone put much time into the lost and damned? I've got that downloaded but havnt started it yet. |

Yeah it's a bit short story-wise, but it's definitely better than Niko's tale in GTA4. It was soley responsible for making me watch Sons of Anarchy, which, apart from Dexter, turned out to be the best thing on TV this year. The only problem for some people is the sheer amount of motocycle riding that (naturally) has to be done in it, because some people are Dorothys and don't like the bike handling. |

Yeah, I finally got round to finishing TLAD the other night - great addition, and, whilst the character models ain't the best, the quality of acting and actual capture of nuances is awesome......and I went to a club and watched Frankie Boyle's standup and it's pretty awesome as I've seen the guy live in R/L. |

Fallout 3 started this about a week ago and cant believe that I have had this sitting there since Xmas... BUT i must admit, near the start, I was extremely close to putting it back in the box and never to look at it ever again because it seemed so unfair! - it took me AGES to find a way to get to that news radio station and every route I would try I would either hit a dead end or bump into so extremely hard bastard to would tear me a new one in record time.... about 15 hours later I am absolutely loving this but cant believe how close I was to calling it a day due to a stupid problem - my bro did the exact same after he had started it but since seeing me on it actually went back to it and he is now also hooked on it. I must admit, the vats animation does become a bit annoying due to the fact you cant skip it or speed it up, but the vats idea and system is fucking awesome! nothing better than shooting a gun out of a super mutants hand then running at him like a maniac wielding a chainsaw .... sick I know

Based on the hype I got this a while back but got bored after a couple of hours and consigned it to the trade in pile. Me thinks I'm missing out. [/chump] P.S. That said, I would rather remove my pancreas with a spoon than play a RPG. |

yeah Dom as I mentioned when I was playing be prepared to accidentally find all the story-based side areas first then once you hit LV 20 (stupidest thing ever, that bloody cap) it's one big cakewalk and you spend hours trawling tunnels and sewers for a fucking stimpack and about 12 caps. Pointless. Except for the last mission the few hours of play towards the end was pretty disappointing. Overall I enjoyed it though. If only it had as much content as Oblivion.... |

See...I don't know how you managed to do this! I finished the main story ages ago and went back to a pre-finish save...I've got ~25,000 caps and am still finding new areas to explore. I dunno how you found it so shallow...and this is coming from ME! The level cap thing is super-silly. |

The extra 10 levels that one of the DLCs give you is welcome but again too low, a game of this size should NOT have any form of level cap, just an introduction of a few random higher rated enemies (which again the DLC gives you) to stop things getting boring as you get too high I hit level 30 and still had loads of quest missions to do The love and attention that has gone into the game and the commitment with the DLC should be celebrated, now they just need to release 1 more DLC which is just a a bunch of smaller quest missions with a fair few new enemies and just remove the level cap |
