It is always depressing looking at Forza 3 shots as it just doesn't look as good in motion. Plus I'm getting bored with it. For some reason it hasn't grabbed me the way FM2 did. And a lot of guys who I played FM2 with don't seem to be playing this as much either.

I had my hopes pinned on this game seeing me through Christmas, but I can barely motivate myself to switch it on.

Same with Ballad of Gay Tony as well to be honest. I thought Lost and Damned made GTA IV feel fresh again, with the whole biker angle, and I think, using the bikes as my main transport. But even with the old style sillyness, TBOGT just isn't keeping my attention.

I want a game like Fallout 3 that I can really get my teeth in to. I have Dragon Age here still unopened, so I guess I should get on with playing it.

Otherwise, it is business as usual, and I've been playing loads of Rockband 2 - but I am struggling with some of the fucking awful tracks on there. Battery and Visions are officially noisy shite.

My gran used to think Zeppelin was "all noise" and I thought she was nuts. But if all she heard was what I hear when Metallica or whoever play Visions comes on - then I totally sympathise with her.

Driving games, meh. They're pony ;)

Playing Assassins Creed 2 and by golly it is rather good. A mahoosive improvement over the first game which I only played for the first time recently. In fact it's all I'm playing at the moment apart from the odd dabble on 1 v 100, which is about the first game ever me and Mrs Indie can enjoy together, so hats off to Microsoft Game Studios for pulling that one off!

The Saboteur

This has dragged me away from Borderlands.

So nearly a brilliant game, but more often than not really annoying thanks to inconsistencies (can knock down THAT tree, but not THAT tree....can jump from THAT height and survive, jump from a seemingly identical height and die), but I'm still playing it cos I LOVE sandboxing it!

Brilliant setting, and the use of black & white imagery is truly inspired....oh and I NEVER get bored of fucking up Nazis!

GTA Liberty City Stories - PSP.

Yup treated myself to a PSP for xmas. Killing time on my 4 hour commute.

Its a real blast from the past to be romping around Liberty again. Like visiting your hometown after moving away for a few years.

Loving the open endedness of the missions again, so many ways to complete them that make you grin.

I expect it will be collecting dust in a few months though...

Zelda - Spirit Tracks
Superb, if not a carbon copy of Phantom Hour Glass. Still I don't mind more of the same as the first Zelda on the DS was sublime. Only gripe is the fecking travelling between dungeons. This time it's on a train, which is not as bad as it sounds, but it takes fooking ages and some missions you have to go from one side of the world map to the other for some poxy reason - mind numbing. Still when you're in the dungeons its all worth while. Reason alone to own a DS. And suprised mine still works as Zelda and Advance Wars: Dual Strike are the only games I've really played on it.

Doom - iPod Touch and Doom 2 RPG - Mobile
Doom love in at the moment, the iPod Touch version of the original games is brilliant. Okay the controls on the touch screen take some getting used to but once you nail it its as brilliant as ever. Graphichs and sound are really very impressive and runs fast and smooth as a silk worms underpants.

Doom 2 RPG, well it passes the time on the bog. For a mobile game and on a very basic none smart phone at that its technically quiet an acheivement. Still stuck on defeating 'The Pinkinator' - sounds rather erotic eh, who is the mother (quite literally) of all Pinkys.

Oh and intend to finish TBOGT soon as frankly in gaming terms I'm kicking my heels waiting for Dantes Inferno to come out. I even nearly bought Dragon Age at lunchtime.

I'm giving this a miss because I always start Zelda games thinking they're great and then just get tired of them. (Twilight Princess still remains unplayed from when I got my Wii.

I played Twilight Princess for a good few hours...maybe 10-12, and then just gave up; just doesn't click with me, and I so wanted to like one of these much-praised games.

Maybe cos it's "D&D" ish - (see the: "it's no good, I just can't stand....." thread).

I really enjoyed Twilight Princess up until right near the end when you ended up in Midnas (spell?) world and it all just got a bit wanky. I should really go back just to finish it off. But honestly, Wii games on a 50inch screen make me want to rip my eyes out of their sockets. Having said that, the new Silent Hill game is actually pretty good and quite the looker to be honest (for a Wii game of course)

I have been playing a little more of spirit tracks. But as with the last game................fucking stylus controls for everything sucks donkey dick. Zelda is about locking onto enemies and swiping with your sword while circling them. It isn't about walking, standing still, dragging a stylus across a screen, doing a little bit more, standing still again, moving the stylus again. It takes away everything that is great about Zelda games and sucks the life out of them for the sake of sticking in shitty controls. Bah....Nintendo really are fucking lucky twats this gen. The Wii must be one of the jammiest flukes ever.

Next gen when everyone has motion controls and Nintendo release the Wii2 which will basically be a snes with a voodoo graphics card bolted on, I bet they land plum last in the console wars.

Bit of a gaming bonaza myself for a change.

Unwrapped Uncharted 2 that I've had since xmas, first level blew me away. Fantastic stuff, on rails, but who cares. Loved the first one too.

Picked up a couple of preowned PSP games too.

Tomb Raider - Legend, standard fodder but fun. Enjoyed the PS2 version and this is more of the same, however it did lock up on me once :(

R-Type "Tactics" - watching the pre-rendered intro made me think how much the games industry has come on in the 25+ years I've been gaming. I wondered what my school mates reactions would be back in 1982 if I'd strolled into the playground with a PSP while they were arguing over their Spectrum's, BBC's and Vic 20's

I was thinking in a few years the pre rendered intro in R-Type would be what a live action game was on a handheld.

All ready for a retro blasting fest I started the game, boy oh boy what a lot of decisions about which ships I want and which formation to fly in, come on lets get to the shooting pronto.

WTF, this IS the game. The "tactics" in the title completely passed me by, its a frickin turn based strategy game - RESET, eject, bye bye R-type.

What a chump.

Colin McRae DiRT 2 - The best driving game this gen by miles. Am going through it a second time as some arsehole corrupted my gamesave, and for once I don't mind a bit because it's so darned good. It's also one of the best looking games this gen. It has an amazing soundtrack that suits the game perfectly, and turn the Yank X-games talky-talk BS off (Hey Dave, you were awesome back there!) and it's perfectly bearable even for an old fart like me .

Wallace and Gromit's Grand Adventures - more remarkably authentic feeling point & click next-to-non-gaming with W&G. Why that dog puts up with him God only knows, he's a right twat. Three adventures one after the other is probably not a good idea for anyone, but the guy who does Wallace's voice is beginning to get on my tits, it's like he's doing Peter Sallis but "Peter Sallis in pain", or "Peter Sallis needs a poo".

Trials HD - finally gave in and bought it. The best Arcade game yet, there can be no doubt. Have beaten some of you fucker's times so check them out, (and will try and do a custom track if I get the time Juzzy), but there are some just so darned good I'd hate to produce some naff non-event that doesn't work properly.

GT5 time trial - Not sure I like the way the traction control is SO darned intrusive (it's set to level 7), it seems to react every bloody time you change direction rather than when the rear wheels are actually losing grip (and it's fucking daft that they made it so you can't turn it off). At this stage it doesn't look any better than Forza 3 to me, but the handling is just SO much more realistic and intuitive.

Anyone played the MAG beta yet? Would it be possible to get a squad together in the same game (Frontlines-style) and do the anti-clan cha cha cha? ^o)
