Castlevania Lords of Shadow - epic, visually stunning, game of the year IMHO. So suprised this hasn't done better.

Downloaded the Lara Croft Guardian of Light DLC, will give that a go soon.

Picking up a copy of Force Unleashed 2 tomorrow.

Oh and have a spare 800 M$ points - worth the Read Dead Zombie pack? Anyone played it yet?

but rage quitted at that bloody puzzle where you pull the guy over the flames, the second room section pissed me off as I kept moving him too slowly as I got absorbed in the puzzle. Fucking hate how it has checkpoints just before climbing ladders/cutscene parts
Did this bit today, and would NEVER have done it on my own, I had BeeB write down the symbols in the pairs game for me and made sure I shifted the roastee every time he whined. This bit was a bit glitchy (y'now, like New Vegas!), I'd moved him once or twice and yet still got the burstin-into-flames sequence. [flame] Thought this was a bizarre difficulty spike as the rest of the game has mostly been a doddle, although the chess/morse code puzzle was bloody brilliant.

Do we like the new Kinect-friendly dash and homo-friendly font etc? :sigh:

It looks lower res and a bit like Windows-meets-Wii to me. :X

Wintendo 360, I suspect this is just what Bill always wanted his console to be like... :-/

Not updated my dash yet so have that to look forward to tomorrow.

To be honest I did think of holding off on that Saw puzzle until I had someone here to write down the items as you did. Too feckin' annoying otherwise, and like you had it seemingly glitch where he would burst into flames even though he had just been moved.

Loved the chess puzzle as well - soooo satisfying working that one out. I know a mate of mine will be playing soon and I guarantee he will be scouring the net for the solution. He got so wound up when I told him I had beat Sherlock Holmes Vs Jack the Ripper on my own as he had to concede he had used a guide. In fact he got quite angry and accusatory which was a bit bizarre.

Oh, found that annoying chase sequence a pain in the arse as well to be honest, where you kept having to do the quicktime button presses to escape knife hand man. Especially pissed me off as you needed to go out of your way to find a jigsaw piece. For all it's faults though, I have enjoyed it.

Been playing bit more of Undead Nightmare - and yeah, Fallout with that graphics engine would be quite spectacular. Some funny bits in the script, as you would expect from Rockstar, and kinda nice to have a fresh excuse to visit that world again.

I finally finished RDR the other day and thought the ending was just right. Next time I find 800 MS points in the street I'll try the zombie thang.

Updated dash last night, but that was all - haven't tinkered with it yet.

As well as Blakey's recommendation, have heard good things about Game Dev Story so have just bought that.

Also hearing very good things about Super Meat Boy - anyone tried this yet?

Will get Undead Nightmare once I've finished Force Unleashed II.

Just wanted to pop in and say that John Cleese's voice-over work in Fable III is excellent. That is all...

Updated the dash and I don't mind it apart from the brightness of it. I have always liked how the 360 dash feels like a games machine. The PS3 undoubtedly has better video options hidden away, but it is all so bloody clinical.

Had a dabble on Costume Quest and what a sweet little game it is. It is an RPG at it's most basic, but the art style is lovely and takes me back to Saturday morning cartoons with how it looks.

Yeah WTF are the WHITE :shades: windows about? And no preferences to change it? It's a bit shit isn't it. Jeez - I know that "as a bloke I will naturally be against any change," but this really is horrible to look at, no two ways about it. This needs to be made to look much nicer and/or be more customisable ASAP.

You'd think all those years of wndows versions would have had them offering various colour schemes to be honest. But I think it is a sad fact that they are the Kinect colours and so each time you see the dash they want you reminded of Kinect in the hope you'll buy it.

Would have been nice having user enabled themes though a la the PS3. Oh and the ability to have notifications appear where I want onscreen.

Just sitting here waiting for the update to happen on the dash... with my sunglasses on.

Maybe MS just wants us to look that much cooler.

I liked how it told me how to use my controller to move around and select things. It wasn't like I had to use it to download the patch, or for the last 5 years or anything.

It's all gone a bit soft. Even the gf noticed how pansy it looked. First the avatars and now this. I thought the point of three consoles was so that they were different. Obviously not. I will watch closely at the next batch of consoles to see which one caters for idiots, but I think i'm already leaning towards Sony.

Still plugging away at Saw II and boy it is becoming such a chore. If I wasn't so close to the end I'd stop playing. Diddly: I did that furnace section with the guy over the flames. I saw with a pen and paper and kept pausing to jot down what was on the TV screens to pair them - finally did it and it went to the cutscene with the guy, and guess what happened......right at the end of the cutscene it suddenly switches to the guy hanging over the flames and bursting into flames. Pretty much confirming there is a glitch there where the guy would burn for no good reason. But now I'm at the carousel room with those red lights. Jesus fucking christ!!!

This game is pretty much the perfect example of a case where devs get so close to a game that they fail to see that puzzles they find easy because they have repeated them ad nauseum do not make for fun puzzles when you need to try the same segment over and over again, more so when for god knows what reason, the room can't just reset and you have to sit through stupidly long loading screens. Man I can't wait to finish it. I do hope they don't fuck up a third if they make it, as I know I'll get the bloody thing.

Where? I think this is a pile of old poop - who thinks this is good and what is the address of his old-people's asylum?
Poor controls, simplistic gameplay, utterly shit graphics. Race to the "girlfriend" square blob so nasty evil square blob can whisk her away to the next, equally crap level. Fucking genius. :axeman: Anyone who pays 800M$ points for that must have a LOT more M$ points than sense.

9/10 - Eurogamer, 90/100 - Metacritic and I was listening to last weeks Gamespot UK Podcast where they praised it also.

Don't shoot the messenger! :arse:

Now go to Metacritic and read some of the user reviews that were written by people who actually paid for the experience and weren't written by the dev team (consisting of two geeks and their pet lizard I suspect ), like some of the ridiculously overcomplimentary ones obviously were. Overrated. Bag. Of. Shite. Hard to believe this got the same Metascore as Limbo. I really hope they send us a code.
