Happy New Year all! Quick question, can anyone recommend a good RPG for the iPhone? I'm away on a course for a few days and fancy getting my teeth into something while I'm sat in my room in the evenings. |

My initial reaction would be Secret of Mana (an old SNES rpg by Square which was fantastic). But by all accounts the controls on iPhone are an acquired taste. I've been playing Fable 3 and I'm just not finding it that appealing compared to 2. Luckily I'd seen all the posts about how the ending can catch you out, so I'm biding my time to accumulate as much cash as possible. But yeah, throwing shitty "trick" endings in is bullshit. Also spending more time with GT5 and now I have a decent amount of cash the game is a lot better as there is always something I can be doing now. But menus still need fixing asap. As mentioned in the Kinect thread, I've been enjoying Dance Central, which is showing me just how unfit I am. Rockband 3 is my game of choice to end the evening with. Shame it tanked at retail because finding people online to play with can be hard work. Edited by Retrovertigo, Jan 3 2011, 02:24 PM.

Playing Metal Gear Solid - Peace Walker on the PSP. Seems pretty faithful to MGS so far with a nice cinematic feel to it. Cut scenes are in animated artwork instead of full video with is a nice touch (probably saves a ton of space too) Finally finished GTA Vice City Stories on PSP before starting this. |

Meant to post a while ago: Halo: Reach How astonishing that it takes however many sequels before Bungie basically just remade the "feel" of the first game, and therefore the best game SINCE the first one. Thoroughly enjoyed it - looks nice, too. Multiplayer bored me and was just as clunky as Halo 3, despite everyone in the world except for me saying it's the best out there - go figure! Medal Of Honor Enjoyed this very much, despite it not being very varied - the vehicle sections were actually pretty horrible in terms of control (snowmobile). Actually found the online nice and simple and very easy to get in to. Undead Nightmare Keep playing this, but kinda keep wondering why! Loved RDR, but, due to the mongy nature of the zombs, there's no chance to take cover and have a shootout and all that jazz, so it's just a bit of a twitch-fest. Nice meeting up with characters from the game proper, and quite spooky in places....oh and Sasquatches are whinging pussies! Edited by Juz, Jan 12 2011, 10:48 AM.

Finished Force Unleashed 2today and thought it was great to be honest. I'd seen all the reviews a few months back and I don't quite get why it was given such a hard time. For me it was a big improvement over the first game, gameplay -wise and certainly graphics-wise. Shame it is over now, because I am not sure what I can play next in a similar vein. |

I enjoyed it too, my only gripes were it was a little short and not a vast amount of variety in the enviroments. Stunning as they looked. I'm replaying Batman Arkham Ayslym in hard mode at the moment as well as giving the challenge mode a go. Loved this game and replaying it is a pleasure. The challenge mode is something I didn't really do much before and enjoying it now. Gives me something to do as have nothing to play or interest in much until Dead Space 2 comes out. |

Try as I might, I just can't get the hang of the combo's in Batman AA. It's doing my fucking head in. I don't stand a chance in the combat challenges

Batman didn't click with me at all. I just didn't see what everyone was raving about. It was .....ok. I certainly wouldn't have had it on my game of the year list. In fact it wouldn't have made my top ten I don't think. |

Nah, I struggled like fuck with Batty in the end - just too repetitive. Non-interactive props all over the place too. |

Resi 5 Holy motherfucking Christ! "Hello! I'm Capcom and I flatly refuse to believe that games evolve; welcome to my 2010 entry into the Resi series..... MARVEL at a 3rd person camera that sits 6 inches off your shoulder and can't be modified! SWOON as you can't shoot and move at the same time! GASP as you can't even reload and move at the same time! SCREAM as you can't use your melee weapon and move at the same time, meaning you have to wait till zombies move in close enough to kiss you! EJACULATE NOISILY as your "partner" (who is evidently ONLY supposed to be played by non AI) nearly ALWAYS stands right in front of your fucking gun, or just jerkily stutters around about 1 inch in front of where you're walking!!" There's other shit, but typing this on an iphone does my nut in almost as much as this abortion of a game. Oh and, yes, PLEASE ask me after I've unlocked a door if I actually want to OPEN the cunt..... Sheesh! |

To be fair, it does improve quite a bit playing it co-op. Had a blast playing it with a mate over Live. But yeah, so frustrating playing single player with such antiquated game mechanics. Apparently the 3DS version allows moving and shooting at the same time!!!!!!!!!!! |

Yeah, I'm sure it's cool in co-op, but then don't attempt to make it work with AI if you lack the programming savvy.....it's fucked! |

I was hoping to get started on Mass Effect 2 this afternoon because, for the first time in a million years, I have the house to myself but so far I've been twiddling my thumbs while my 360 downloads a dashboard update really, really slowly! Still, sounds about the norm for a month in which both my cars broke down on the same day and cost me nearly £1000 in repairs, the boiler and dishwasher packed up too and the whole family went down with a runny poo bug ! Sorry... should have put this in the rant thread! Edited by Zaichik, Jan 23 2011, 03:56 PM.

Well seeing as either (a) I cant seem to get motivated to start anything else and (b) nothing else really does seem to want to make me play it I have decided to get ALL achievments on New Vegas Now its patched it really is a great game and having completed it once I realised despite doing everything I could for NCR and getting to level 30 I missed at least half of what the game has Besides that I am still playing Battlefied BC2 - combination of vanilla and vietnam and have my Recon skills down to a t Tried Halo Reach - ten minutes in I remembered that I felt just the same about every other Halo game and never played it since Singloe player is nothing special and multiplayer is just taken far too seriously |
