I find it strange that I'm not seeing adverts galore for the Vita.

I'll never go for one as I had a PSP that I never played, a Gameboy that ditto and a DS lite double ditto. I love the look of em and think the tech is tremendous, and the idea of carrying on your PS3 game elsewhere is summink I hope that Xbox 720 offers, but only if the portable version looks nearly as good like Vita/PS3.

Got to admit if I could afford it, I'd buy a VIta today. But the 3DS taught me that patience is a virtue. I do spend a lot of time in bed some evenings though if I'm in considerable pain, and so make use of handhelds quite a bit - therefore I would actually make good use of it.

I'm a tad annoyed I'm missing out on Everybodys Golf. I played the PS3 version every weekend with a bunch of guys and it was great fun. Naturally they have all bought it and are playing it - but by the time I get around to it they will have moved on to other games :(

Started playing some Syndicate last night. Not sure what I make of it at the moment. I really liked the graphical look of Riddick and The Darkness and this lacks something compared to those games. It's all lovely looking, but also very generic futuristic looking.

I had also hoped it might be a little more like Deus Ex and have hub areas from which you did your missions, but so far it has none of that.

Some good gameplay mechanics though, the way you can hack into electronic stuff - and also peoples brains :) Being able to convince someone to commit suicide with a quick button press if good fun. And also being able to hack thrown grenades as they land at your feet and then either store them or chuck them straight back is a nice touch.

I'm sure it will improve once the enhancements get unlocked as there is some cool stuff in there. But for now it all feels very "by the book". Oh and of course, has fuck all in common with the classic original.

Oh and how fit is Tess Daly (she is on daybreak as I type this). Looks ten years younger than she actually is.

I made her trip over a step as she was checking me out when I visited the Beeb on business a while back...she is extraordinarily tall and thin in the flesh.

She obviously has a thing for tall, skinny fuckers with long hair.

lol.

The funny thing was that she had a team of (extraordinarily fit) young birds orbiting her, checking she was OK after she tripped up - it was really like summink from a piss-take.

The same day I was there, all the celebs were practising their dancing in the fountainy area of Wood Lane....and that little cunt Brandan Whatsifice the dancer was on the phone to someone being a smarmy little prick...all 2ft 6 of him...midget.

Been playing The Last Story on Wii this past week and love it. This is the second RPG Nintendo have localised with British accents after Xenoblade, and they suit the game so well.

It makes such a refreshing change to hear brits talking in these games, rather than Americans acting all twee. That plus they have made one of the female characters basically a piss artist - and bisexual as well I think. All she ever wants to do is get rat arsed and makes innuendos non-stop. You just know the yanks wouldn't have translated it quite like that :)

It has some interesting battle mechanics as well, as your sword attacks are realtime with some "pause the battle while you pick magic attack" moments.

The big drawback though - looks as rough as Bon on a Monday morning :) I keep seeing pics of it being playing on Dolphin (The Wii emulator) and it makes such a difference to Wii games when they are scale up in resolution. Sadly my P.C lacks tje oomph required though.

But yeah, enjoying this so far - but then I do like my RPG's where you are constantly pushed along. I love Skyrim, but occasionally I do like to be ushered along the story.

Also been playing Mass Effect 2 as I had deleted my save and needed to get my game finished for today. Managed to polish it off yesterday and am pumped for this evening now :)

Oh yeah, had a quick dabble on "I Am Alive" as well on XBLA. It looks really interesting from what I've seen. Being a survivor after some unknown apocalypse and making your way through the ruins rummaging for food etc as you go. It has a mechanic where you only find the odd bullet for your gun along the way and so when you meet other survivors - who may or may not be friendly - you might need to just try and bluff them with your weapon in order to make your way past them.

It looks pretty nice for an XBLA game as well. I've read it can get a little repetitive, but at roughly six hours long I can't see it out staying its welcome.

One thing though - its world doesn't appear to be too big. After Skyrim has appeared and shown what can be squeezed into 3gigs, I think XBLA devs could be aiming for much more expansive worlds nowadays - cost not withstanding of course. But it does show just what can be squeezed into small amounts of hdd space.

Yeah, I'll be getting ME3 from LoveFilm at some point....but only cos I played the previous 2; I say "but" because I'm not entirely sure I actually enjoyed them all that much, just kinda played cos they were there...that make sense?

Got Halo Anniversary to play....it'll either make me feel all glowy and nostalgic and happy, or I'll be bored shitless within 20 mins. We'll see.

Played a bit of ME3 - HATE THE FUCKING HUD!!!!! How can they go to that nice discreet HUD for ME2 and then onto this abomination? It takes up half the fucking screen. Aside from any plasma worries, it just a constant reminder that you are playing a videogame. Awful.

Also you can't holster your weapons once you have cleared an area of bad guys. Apparently they had no memory spare for the holster animation???? Surely not serious?

Biggest beef by far is my old team mates.....but I won't spoil things for now.

Good things - they have upped the graphics engine quite a bit I think. Everything looks very nice with a moodier lighting to it. And weapon fire seems seriously beefed up as well. They all feel much more satisfying to use with better sounds and a nicer feeling of weight behind each shot made.

But yeah.....little disappointed I have to admit.

Lots more Battlefield 3 (360), this must be good, I haven't played an online shooter this much ever, only the original Xbox Wolfenstein (usually with Juz and others) and Halo 2 come close. If you liked Bad Company 2's multiplayer I think you'll love this, althiough they changed some things that didn't need changing. Over all this game is brilliant, and much more varied and rewarding than MW3 ever could be. EA/DiCE have even announced three more DLC packs (including the biggest BF map ever) planned for June onwards.

JSRF (Jane's Advanced Strike Fighters) (PS3 & 360) - crikey this needs to improve fast or be ejected forever. Dickhead, impossible-manoeuvre-pulling-off AI enemies that respawn eternally in some missions, 'nice' planes but glitchy graphics and it's too bloody hard on 'normal'. The planes in BF3 fly more realistically. I'm amazed that Jane's name was allowed to go on this arcadey and unrealistic a game.

Twisted Metal (PS3) - I thought I'd hate this but and the default controls system is cack-handed (fortunately you can change it), but it wins you over with its mental gameplay, dark back story, OTT handling and physics, super-smooth graphics and huge amounts of destruction. A bit like the classic TM2, I think this'll be too hard for many, expect to see lots of copies on eBay.

Winter Stars (360 Kinect) - Now I know you fuckers are out to kill me! Nobody wanted to review this and now I know why. On "family friendly" the controls are cursory and boring, switch to "normal" and the biathlon nearly gave me an infarction. Playing the bobsleigh I nearly put my back out. I'm not even going to attempt the Ladies figure skating...
Subtitles are available on Teletext page 888

Never been a fan of Twisted Metal, and I couldn't bring myself to ever put money in David Jaffe's pocket - what with him being a loud mouth twat with an obvious case of little man syndrome. Ugh...what a horrible bloke. Rant over :)

But doesn't that sum up pretty much ALL of the game devs that do lots of PR like Molyneux, Bleszinski....and....errr....that short fella?

Who gives a fuck as long as the games are good?

No I have an special dislike for that particular twat. Everything I have ever seen or heard him on he comes across as a fucking gobshite. But besides that, never liked Twisted Metal - don't get the whole arena shooting thing in general to be honest.

Been playing more Mass Effect 3 and I have to say I'm not that keen so far. Maybe because I have played ME2 so many times with varying roles etc, and it is now so ingrained in me, but this just feels too different.

I hate what they have done with some of the side quests. Having timed sections is shit, having a journal which gives no fucking clue whatsoever as to where you are in a quest is total and utter wank.

You can basically overhear conversations and that triggers a fetch quest. But it doesn't keep track of whether you have found said items or not so you end up just going back to the citadel and wandering around until you bump into the right person again. You then talk to them to see whether you have managed to get what they wanted or not. Really poor system.

The shooting is great now though I have to say. I liked it in ME2 but now enemies will try and flank you etc and so it keeps you moving around from cover to cover. I'm playing on normal and have died a fair few times already.

But I am a completionist and not knowing how, where or when certain side quests can be found or finished is driving me nuts. I'm not happy that basically you will need to follow a guide to get it all finished.

Shit like this, with any number of quests HAS to be telling you what's what....Skyrim's is very good in that respect, but even that throws a Joey every now and then.
