Yeah it's an odd design choice for sure. Mass Effect 2 would essentially have each step bullet pointed as you got to it - where in this game some side quests just have the description and it never updates to let you know what point you are at. Worse still, your email inbox just as every mission listed be it main or side, and you can't mark messages as read and have them moved to a separate folder. The list just grows and grows. I have been following a couple of threads online about the game and I'm surprised it isn't coming in for more shit. One thing I do like - but that can bite you in the ass - is that it isn't now always clear if picking the paragon option is the way to go. To say anymore would be a spoiler, but yeah, some tricky decisions to be made. Also had a play on Journey last night on the PS3. I'd had my eye on this for a while, and given GAME's almost certain death, I decided to cash my reward points in and get a PSN points card. It is certainly a different kind of game that's for sure. I believe it is only 2 hours long, but does have some replay value. It cost a tenner by the way. You wander this huge desert with no idea what you are supposed to be doing other than moving forward toward the next landmarks. It is from the guy who made flower, so for anyone who has played that, you know how ambiguous his games can be. As you play there are simple puzzles to solve that open up your pathway allowing you to move on. You may also be joined by a companion. You can't choose from your friends list, it just throws a random person into your game with no way to communicate with them. But that doesn't matter - in fact it is all the better for it. I was joined by someone last night and we just kind of instinctively followed each other around, trying the puzzles together and just having a great time exploring the areas. It was nice and relaxing just wandering these lovely environments and not have to actually communicate with someone - and avoiding any bullshit small talk ![]() Definitely worth a try, but I do realise that a tenner for a couple of hours worth of game is off-putting. |

Speaking of unusual games: I played about 30 mins of Asura's Wrath last night....and it's....odd. It's like a Manga film with QTE's. It's actually a bit shit, to be honest but I'll give it a bit longer just to be fair. |

Update: Abandonised all of the following: Halo Anniversary, SSX and Asura's Wrath and returned to Forza 4, which I still fucking LOVE! I always make things harder for myself by racing US muscle cars from 50s - 70s in every class....with no traction control and manual gears. Edited by Juz, Mar 20 2012, 11:08 AM.

I want to love Forza 4 - when I play it I don't hate it, but I don't exactly love it either. Something about it just doesn't grab me like I thought it would. I think its partly because I have seen it all before......twice :/ I also play with manual gears and highest difficulty. Not keen on the muscle cars though. I have always liked the lower power cars. I like squeezing everything out of them and finding the perfect lines. But yeah....bit sad really. It needs new tracks as DLC really badly. No idea why people love just cars as dlc as I don't think extra cars adds any longevity to a racing game whatsoever. |

I dunno what it is (other than its stunning good looks) that I love so much about Forza, but it's bloody leagues ahead of GT5 in terms of ease of use...and Autovista is an astonishing piece of GFX tech.... |

Shadow of Colo ... collos ... thing I can't spell HD Loved Ico, but never got into this first time round. Downloaded a while but just got round to it. So far loving it, but controls are very twitchy and defo showing their age. Only on the third colosathingy, but think I'm going to dig this game! Dark Souls and Demon's Souls Managed to finish both recently - simply fecking stunning. Best games I've played on the PS3 by a country mile. Mass Effect 3 About 10 hours in, but just feels a bit on rails despite the fact you can go where you want when you want. The conversation wheel is pointless - it's all preordained. Best explanation for the 'free choice RPG stuff and Mass Effect specifically was 'water flowing around a stone'. Perfect analogy. Assassins Creed: Revelations What a disappointment. Perhaps I'm totally AC'd out, but it just feels a chore. Further, I find the controls (which I never though was that great) for the free running stuff not good at all. Can't put my finger on why exactly, I just find it doesn't do what I want when I want - simply put. And whats with the 'baddies' standing around waiting to engage in battle one by one! Come on Ubisoft ... lame. How many games have you had a chance to put this right. Looking forward to The Journey once I get SOTC, ME2 and AC: R out of the way. EDIT - Got Rayman Origins, but only done the first few levels. Looks purdy! Oh and apols for gramma, spelling and missing words in my post. But frankly I can't be arsed to edit it ;-) Edited by Indie, Mar 21 2012, 08:54 PM.

Still chugging along with Mass Effect 3 despite feeling that many of the changes from 2 are for the worse. But I want to see how it all ends so I'm persevering with it for now. I have to say though that the voice commands work amazingly well with kinect. Not having to keep pausing battles to give the a.i commands is really cool to be honest. That plus I play lay back on the couch and tend to plonk the controller down when I get into the lengthy conversations. Being able to just sip on a drink and read out all the voice options is really nice. So yeah, thought the kinect stuff was a gimmick, but if I ever play ME2 again I'll miss the voice stuff for sure. Tempted to go for Ico/Shadow of Colossus while it is still £15 on the PSN store, but wanted to get a decent deal on a £15 psn card if I could as I'm not giving Sony my credit card details after the whole hacking debacle. And I have a massive crush on Lucy the weather girl on Daybreak (she is on the tv as I type this )

Will Google this Brenda immediately. I don't usually watch the light channel in the morning, but happy to make an exception. Especially if she's jugged up. EDIT - Not quite Christina Hendricks. But she would most definitely get some Indie lurvin. Edited by Indie, Mar 22 2012, 08:04 PM.

Yes a lot of 'random' people do that too. No doubt trying to collect as many coins as possible. They don't stay on my list for very long! |
