The PS3 is def much more of a media \ streamer box for me also
Not "gamed" on it since completing Uncharted 3 the week it came out !

Im not bothered about blu ray playback and integrated TV, but the video playback is great on the PS3 and if the next xbox can replicate ill be happy

Am I the only person that wants their games console just to play games these days?

PS3 is a nice cheap media player dude. Coupled with its fantastic playback quality, and upscaling of DVD's, it has its place in my living room. Otherwise I'd have to buy a dedicated media box and that would mean researching which are best etc etc.

So if the next Xbox means I get it all in one nice neat package - and we all know MS want the Xbox to be the "do it all box" in your living room - then all the better :)

I can honestly say that, other than Blu Rays and Sky Movies I don't use any other kind of media streaming stuff. And now that Blu Ray won't be replaced for a good while and a really nice player is well under £50 (when my PS3 dies), so I don't need a media box, I need a games console....plus, being MS it will do all those things but sound like a 747 on takeoff which'll fuck off all the purists anyway ;)

Well I live alone and tend to hoard TV shows until I have the complete series and then watch them in bulk, so a media player of some kind is vital. My Sky box fills far too quickly, and not to mention I download a ton of shows that just don't make it over here at all :) Need something to pass the time dude :P

I reckon MS might shock everyone and make the next Xbox quite a desirable robust piece of kit. Especially if Surface is anything to go by. It shows they can make damn fine looking - and hopefully reliable kit when they want to. Hell I have had an MS mouse and Keyboard for years and they are still going strong.

God knows how they screwed up the 360 so badly at first - other than being cheap skates of course :)

:) I'm surrounded by students :P I live in the house I lived in as a kid. But now it is converted into flats. There are six here plus 5 new ones that were built in the back yard (it was a big back yard) - so yeah, I may as well live with them!

I've been playing Witcher 2 on the 360, and have probs put about 15 hours in or so, and it still ain't clicking for me. Just seems uhhhh kinda basic, I guess and not at all like the GOTY that lots of people seem to think it is. Am I missing something?

I've yet to play it myself. Been waiting an age for it to drop below £20 which it seems to be stubbornly refusing to do.

It's going back to LoveFilm today anyway. Was boring me and THE most hated thing happened: a boss battle.

Goodbye, Witchy-woo. Not that impressive, knowing you.

Yarp I thought it was pretty meh too. Didn't like that crafting potions before battle nonsense.

Playing Dark Souls again but on 360 this time. Yes I'm nuts but its prob but fav game ever! Roll on later this year for the DLC!

Tried Deus Ex Human Recolution. Booooooring! FIrst Person MGS - no thanks.

Had a friend on the phone last night doing his damndest to convince me to play Dark Souls. But everything he was throwing out as an argument in the games favour just had me thinking "fuck that" :)

I haven't the time, patience....nor the inclination to put myself through stress while playing a game these days. And being stressed out while playing was his biggest selling point. It all just sounded awful - at least with how I do my gaming these days. I like to chill out on the couch, not sit there all tense and knowing I might fuck up and have to fight my way back to the position I was in before I died.

Not to mention of course (and yeah I know it can be switched off) players invading your world. If they aren't within range of me punching them hard in the face for doing that shit, then it can piss off :)

@ Indie - yup, I found Deus Ex just too sterile and boring.

@ Indie - Dark Souls was just too annoying - you're a fucking MANIAC!

@ Retro - Agree with you; I play just for the fun, now.

What are you mentalists fucking talking about, we've always played for fun right? :coolspot:

@Retro, it's a marmite game for sure. It's the sort of game I would avoid usually, but I tried it, something just clicked and now I can't stop playing it. Yes it's tres tough, but very fair and once you level up a bit, combined with some common sense it's not so hard.

@Juz, yes I'm mental alright! 2 kids, married and a corporate job mwha ha :arse:

Oh and DE: Human Revolution I thought was reeeeeeally difficult. Maybe I just haven't the patience for all that sneaky sneaky bollocks. I wanted to run and gun, but of course got creamed in about 2 seconds (snigger).
