See I loved Deus Ex. I like being sneaky in games like that - although I hate Splinter Cell for some reason. But in DE I loved sneaking around the game world taking out the bad guys with my augments. Thought it was fantastic. |

Yeah, I struggle with the old sneaky-sneak too....it's nice to have the OPTION to pick people off (like in Skyrim, with a bit of "Throw Voice" combined with my 100 Archery Skillz), but when you pretty much HAVE to sneaky-sneak, I just get fucked off. |

So has anyone here played any 3D games? Curious to try out 3D on my new TV. I can't see 3D properly because of my eyesight (I can't see it on a 3DS for example) but I have tried a couple of demo videos and can see the odd thing which is supposed to pop out of the screen - albeit not very well. But I do fancy trying a 3D game just to see if I can see anything at all. It's a gimmick I'll never use past it being a curiosity. But nevertheless I'd love to try a game which is supposed to have really good 3D just to see how well I can view it. |

I haven't played any 3D games - I've got monged-up eyes, too ![]() I only ever tried a 3DS for about 2 mins and it made me feel ill and just looked like a double-image - yet to see a cinema 3D or telly 3D. In other news, LoveFilm's offerings lately are: Dirt Showdown and Inversion. Dirt really is Marmite - one minute I love it, the next I hate it. Inversion, on the other hand, is highly enjoyable so far...MASSIVE amounts of physics happening. EDIT: getting near the end (I guess) of Inversion and it's getting cheap; suddenly countless waves of mixed enemies and regurgitated boss fight after regurgitated boss fight. Here's a clue: if you're worried about the length of your game, hold off the release for a few more months and add some value, don't just start dumping difficulty spikes in it where none existed before. Dirt has been returned. Bit boring and yet another Codemasters game that only has about 50% functionality if you're renting it/ buying it 2nd hand and don't want to pay for "VIP" passes and the like. Well I'll be picking up Tony Hawk HD today purely for the nostalgia value. Used to sit with my mates playing the hell out of that thing when it was first released. Looking forward to playing some of those old levels again. Despite the fact they seem to have left out a fair few features....twats. |

Update: I'd like to offer a massive FUCK YOU to the makers of Inversion. Basically, I believe that the last 1 hour of the game has been completely and unfairly padded out to 4+ hours thanks to: 1. Boss battle 2. Boss battle 10 minutes later, but with henchmen 3. Boss battle 10 minutes after that with henchmen and mixed up patterns 4. Boss battle 10 minutes later with EVEN MORE henchmen....and then ANOTHER Boss in the same arena 5. Checkpoint system that gradually gets LONGER and LONGER between stages so that, in the event of death, you are replaying fucking loads. 6. Less and less ammo/re-charges hidden in more elaborate places in the heat of a battle. They evidently completely ran out of money on this game so had to introduce mountain-sized difficulty spikes, so off it goes, back to LoveFilm. /deep breath |

Played some game recently - though fuck knows which one as for the life of me I can't think of it. But it pulled the same trick of having a boss battle go on and on and on. And when you were fighting bad guys, you could do combo's, which they could easily break away from. However, when they did combo's you got stuck in the same frame of animation and could do fuck all about it. Cheapness for the sake of adding longevity to a game. Pisses me off. Tony Hawk is a dam sight harder than I remember it as well. I'm sure I could combo and get high scores like a mother fucker. Not these days. I'm just finding it frustrating sadly

Just finished Spec Ops: The Line, and it was VERY good (as a rental). A dusty shoot em up that actually fucks with your head. Excellent, apart from one, final twist too far. Will now return to Kingdoms of Amalur which seems pretty sweet. |

I got bored shitless with Amalur. The people talk wayyyyyyy too much and it just put me right off. Nice gameworld and some nice combat. But christ the rest of it feels so dated. |

Been playing Infamous 2 and it is a little better than the first I have to say. Not least because the graphics aren't as ropey this time around. Still some hideous pop-in but nowhere near as bad as the first game. The city is a more interesting place to explore as well. Getting quite hyped for Sleeping Dogs now I have to say. Watched the quick look on Giantbomb (despite hating the gobshites on there with a passion - except Ryan Davis) and apart from some buildings popping into view, they have built a nice environment. Plus of course Hong Kong as a setting hasn't been done to death. I'm ready for another open world game and I reckon that game will do rather nicely. I don't really consider games like Infamous and Prototype to be open world to be honest. There isn't the variety in those games that you get once you start throwing vehicles into the mix. |

Yeah, I'm getting hyped for Sleeping Dog too. So much so that its actually been per-ordered along with Borderlands 2. The combat in it just looks freaking awesome, and combat in these types of game (hand to hand) is usually terrible and clunky. At the least, they've made it LOOK fluid. |

Just finished Lollipop Chainsaw. Bit repetitive, but ever so stylish with a truly insane soundtrack...actually, it's VERY repetitive. |

Agree that Lollipop Chainsaw is repetitive in places. But the characters and total batshit craziness of it kept me totally entertained. No idea if you did it - and I think I mentioned it here before - but it is totally worth having subtitles in to see what weird shit the zombies talk about. Some of it is really funny. And of course....she is hot....for a videogame woman
