Test Drive seems ok - certainly seems to handle better - was able to stay on the road for one

not sure about Just Cause - seems to fiddly, too gloomy and too twitchy

GTA without the point

Listening to a gaming podcast this morning they were talking about TDU and I was getting quite excited. The MMO playground style of things is something I've been hoping someone would do for a while.

And then they start talking about it only being a $40 game - that's the same price point as R* Table Tennis was, which should mean a £25 price point in the usual discounted places (supermarkets and a lot of websites). I can justify that on top of my other games this month (better hide the credit card bill from the missus though)... But then I remember the points earlier on this thread about us paying more.

I don't mind the usual US/UK price disparity - $60 for XB360 games over there, with no discounts available usually, £50 RRP here, but easy to get the games for £40, plus the US has to add on local sales tax. But even with sales tax we're still paying nearly double the US price for TDU.

WHY ATARI? WHY? No wonder you're going down the drain with that kind of marketing - if I'm 'more advanced' can I get the game at the lower price points? Ah, fuck you.

Thanks to that deal a while back at HMV, I'm getting it for £31. Still more than the US, but it doesn't sting quite as much.

Well seems folk are quite excited having procured Dead Rising, but nary a mention of this game. Anyone bought it then? Let's be having you....

I would have at the budget price point.

Frankly, I probably would have at the full price point if the US were paying full price and that tit from Atari hadn't called us 'less advanced'.

Was there no truth to the story that the Americans were getting less cars in the game, and would have to pay for the etxra content - whereas we'd be getting a more "complete" experience?

I managed to get it for £31 from HMV. It was shipped yesterday, so hopefully it'll turn up tomorrow.

Not seen that idea posted before. I might just get it if true...
