tbh I really wanted Advance wars, DS or GBA but I couldn't find it anywhere :/

I think I saw Advance Wars DS in my local Comet for something silly like £11.99

Have you played the new Mario game, err, "New Mario Bros"?. Its really rather slick, and plays like classic 2D Mario. Definetly worth being part of your collection.

Some other DS games to look forward to over the next few months:

Contact (Atlus) - October 2006 (US)
http://www.atlus.com/contact/home.html
It's an action/RPG stlye game and looks and sounds very interesting indeed. It even has wifi modes where your friends become NPCs on the Island.

Elite Beat Agents - November (US)
Its the Western conversion of Ouendan. I don't know what they're doing with the music and story, but the Japanese version is amazing so hopefully this will follow. It's made by the team who did Gitarooman on PlayStation2.

Cooking Mama - September 12 (US)
Remember Ore No Ryoji on PlayStation? A Japanese cooking game where you had to bake and cook things, by chucking in incredients etc? Well this is similar. You follow instructions on screen and bake/cook stuff by using the touch screen to chop, stir, pour, mix incredients up. Looks mental, and its getting good feedback from the Japanese release.

Children of Mana - November (US)
Co-op mode. Enough said. It's supposed to play very similar to Final Fantasy Crystal Cronicles which was superb. Looking forward to this very much.

Final Fantasy III - November (US)
Remake of the never before seen in the west version of FFIII, now with fully updated graphics etc. Looks amazing and just came out in Japan and sold 400,000 copies in one day.

I've not played the new mario game yet, tbh I still can't decide to get that or the mario 64 port.

Children of Mana looks cool, I'm a huge rpg fan and currently trying to hunt down the GBA versions of golden sun and zelda 'minish cap'

atm I'm enjoying DS advance wars but animal crossing is my fave, its so much fun. imo any game that has fishing in it is a good one ;) - maybe thats why I like FFXI :D

Personally I'd go for New Mario Bros over Mario 64. Mario 64 is much, much better (perhaps my favourite videogame of all time), but I found the controls akward and a little frustrating. There are multiple options like like using the thumbstrap nub (which now doesn't come with DS's), the stylus, or using d-pad. D-pad is a good option, however Mario 64's beauty lied in its slick analog controls which are unfortunetly lost on Nintendo DS.

I'd say leave Mario 64 in your memories as the amazing game it was on Nintendo 64, and get the new 2D version which of course plays perfectly.

EDIT. And Animal Crossing - Best non-game game of all time :) I love Blue Bear, shes sooo cute!
