Just played the single player demo and bloody hell its good

The defend the town mission seemed to offer loads new for the RTS genre (although to be fair the ideas used are old just so well implemented) - the sound is superb and the graphics gorgeous

just placed an order with gameplay

Pfft, console gamers have no class :P

I've been on the multiplayer beta for the last month and the tactical options are astounding it's almost too much to control by one person.

This makes playing the skirmish AI a real challenge, even on medium to start with is was handing our asses on a platter to 2 of us.

The incidental details and sounds are breath taking. Watching a tank shell hit the side of a house and the wall fall out to create new cover is amazing.

It's like they've taken Dawn of War, hit is with several vials of steroids and then given the kind of setting that so many more gamers are going to relate to.

If it's not a massive hit i'm going to cry like a little girl.

My pre-orrder should arrive today...

Company of Heroes does indeed look classy, but curiously, its WWII setting is largely why I haven't bought it. In fact, its release has made me anticipated DoW's expansion more, and makes me want to reinstall Dawn of War. I much prefer killa kans to yet another representation of a Sturmtiger, personally.
