Me n Jock 'tried' to have a game of this the other day and 'tried' definatly is the key word here. The demo doesnt allow you to create a private room so you have to randomly join a game and hope to be paired with your friend. Tres annoying.

But im definatly getting Double Agent on friday

Yeah, I've preordered, and so I'm hoping I may have it tomorrow.

Crazy thing about the demo was that they were allowing people put into rooms to kick players they were paired with, meaning that a lot of people were continually kicking people until they were randomly joined with their friends. Stupid really, because being able to go online and play with a friend that isn't going to call me a 'fucking n00b' because I'm rubbish the first time out would have made the experience more enjoyable, and thus more likely for me to follow through and buy the game.

Is anyone tackling the single mode of this game?

Against my better judgement, I picked this up at the weekend and haven't looked back.

I'm not normally into stealth games, but this version seems a lot more forgiving than before. Some great graphical touches and amazing use of sound. Hope the reports of it being a short-lived experience are exagerated.

Yeah, I'm working my way through it - single player and multiplayer are almost two entirely separate games.

If you're happy to get spotted lots and do lots of killing, it's a shortish game. But if you're like me and are completely anal about getting spotted and try to do as little killing as possible, I reckon it's a good 15-20 hours.

Multiplayer is immense.

Is the multiplayer better than Pandora Tomorrow?

I'm not really interested in the single player (the most I've ever played is about half the first level in the first game), but am looking for some good multiplayer larks.

Dunno mate, didn't play the previous.

I believe that it's been simplified, but there's more of it.

Meh, I like it.

The multiplayer has definately been improved. It's been balanced quite nicely, the mercs are actually pretty lethal in this meaning that you want to stay hidden and do things properly rather than take them on.

Before, the spies had their stun guns which ruined it in my opinion but these have been removed. But they can disable lights and turn generators off (disabling all the lights in the level. The mercs have a built-in motion sensor this time around along with a pretty useless emf vision and a torch. They also have a proximity sensor which tells you if one is nearby/close/on top of you.

It's fun being both the spies and the mercs although no-one seems to want to be the mercs in the 3 on 3 matches so you can be waiting around for ages waiting for people to join.

Overall, pretty cool.

It seems that the Xbox and PS2 versions of the game are entirely different - the plot and characters are similar, but it's all better explained in the old versions.
