I've gone for this too, despite being particularly crap at racing games. I never got round to getting the first one - will I like this if I didn't really get on with the GT series on PS2?

depends what didn't click for you m8-i honestly preferred forza to GT as it was a bit more accessible to people who didn't want to spend hours playing with the gear ratios for each race and had a better difficulty curve.

The tuning actually had an effect too (by changing the class of the car if you tuned it too much), but if you fancy GT with a bit of the sim bullshit toned down (and they haven't tinkered with the formula much since the original) then Forza 2 should be your ticket.

I missed out on the first Forza, and I don't like GT, but I'm hoping that Forza 2 will be just far enough away from GT to be enjoyable - it has a much greater level of car porn, car damage, tuning, paintwork customisation and online stuff.

well one of the best things i liekd about forza was the ai-they were mean bastards! hopefully they'll still shunt you all over the track like last time, much better than GT's robots...

It's not bad at all.

One complaint: no simple, trackside camera for replays. Pisser.

It's Ok - enjoyed it more than GT HD, but the cars are really jaggy and it looks like an Xbox game. Not sure I'll be be buying after all.

Fuck me Zai, what resolution are you playing it on? :o I've played this on CRT and HD and the cars are the curviest and smoothest yet, even allowing for my lo-res eyes - I'd go as far as to say there are no straight lines at all on a 28" CRT, surpassing even PGR3 and TDU's looks. Either that or you had one of those "special" Xboxes...

Not sure going round and round laps of however many tracks can still give me a buzz though, after all the GTs, Tocas, Moto GPs and F1s - that was what made TDU a bit different... and no proper in-car? MSG you're having a laugh ain't ya?

Agree with Bon - played it at 50 and 100 inches and it looks stunning

I was playing it at 720p on a 32" TV and it was jaggy as hell. The landscapes were gorgeous, but the cars were terrible.

Hmmm looked "ok" to me - 720p on 32" LCD - although i thought the Developers had said there would be super-3D grass on par with Tiger Wood or something? Grass looked shit to me. Cars ok, but GT HD better IMO.

Gameplay-wise it was also only "ok", certainly no big wow factor, and the crash damage, as i plowed into the back of some slow bastard, didnt seem to do anything but bend my bonnet a bit.

Probably miss it based on the demo, TOCA is more my thing; if the new one has flying bits like Motorstorm i'd be very happy.
