It's a bit dark, but here's a pic of what a car looks like on my TV: |

The worst thing Microsoft could have done is release this demo in this state. The graphics lool flat, the jaggies are awful, and the blloom lighting effects look like they just learned how to do it, but didn't know when to say enough was enough. The driving is nothing outstanding, the damage is cosmentic (arcade mode apparently, but even so, visually it's the same as simulation, except that your car keeps on going in Arcade). Seriously disappointed in this, and when I go back to the GTHD demo and think about how much better that game will get...Microsoft messed up. They took their eye off the racing and more on the number of cars and how to costomise them. Big mistake. |

On the topic of the spring update - has anyone else had a problem playing videos (.wmv) files on their 360 since we had to download the new dashboard? My videos that used to fill my widescreen TV perfectly are now squashed into an unwatchably small horizontal strip.

There is a FAQ on the new media player after the update here, including how to change the display ratio. HTH |

Seems you might be right. I was playing Crackdown yesterday and that looked jaggy as all hell too, and I've never noticed it before. |

Thanks for your help, but unfortunately changing the display mode does not make things any better. Looks like I'm back to watching Heroes & Boston Legal on my laptop

I'm really undecided by this demo. It's track racing, so it's a fairly bare landscape (and Mugello is one of the more scenic tracks I can think of), but then the cars look like toys too - looking at the Le Mans type cars that were covered in decals, I'd say that the ones in GT3 looked as good. There are some little things that don't look right either - the brake lights for example. In PGR3 you could mistake the cockpit view for real race footage at a glance. No chance with this. However, I liked the racing. If you're willing to treat it like a real racer and avoid contact, pick your overtaking spot etc then it feels really good racing on the ragged edge. Will I buy it? Not sure. |

I hated Forza 1, giving it a DC 5 out of 10 and nothing more. This though, is zillion times better. Framerate for starters is fantastic (with the exception of the 30fps replays), and its plays very nicely indeed. With all assists off and manual gears the cars feel correct and act how you'd expect them to, which is nice. Brakes lock a little too easy and with the 360 wheel the range of no-play is too big making the cars feel whollowy and a bit weird. But then the wheel itself is poor anyway. The art in the game is shocking though, really really shocking. The lighting in the sky is pretty, and the tarmac looks ok, but the bright white HDR on the roof and bonnet of the cars is simply awful. Turn 10 really need to hire some decent artists because its crap. Put it next to GT HD and its laughable. Its doing lots and its 60fps, but its just the composition of it all and the palette they use, its not nice and looks like a some random PC game with no budget. As for jaggys, yeah they are evident but not always. Sometimes it looks very smooth, but other times its really jaggy indeed and looks like a PS2 game. The jaggies that is, not the graphics themselves. Saying that would be crazy. I'll be getting it as I thought it played well, and maybe, just maybe it will be decent online and have some life to it. |

The fact that it will instantly put off people that drive like planks from playing online is definitely a good thing. |

The AI seems very good , rather than 7 cars all following the racing line, there is a feeling of someone actually driving the cars. For example if you dive down the inside into a corner, they will not just turn in on you but give room if possible, but if you run wide they will also then dive up the inside. |

Ste strong armed me into buying this. Looking on the Forza forums there's some amazing designs out there on cars already from the Japanese release and some stores in the US breaking the street date, so I'm looking forward to trying out my own designs. Who else is getting it now? |

Will probably get this - the whole auction house thing is such a cool idea. There will be NO way that I can put the necessary time into tuning/customisation, but I'll give it a go
